I love how down to earth he is. I'm from Glasgow as well and it's just like listenin' to one of your pals just bein' daft. He's the kinda comedian anyone can relate to!
I will go ahead and admit that I have a huge crush on anything Scottish or Irish even though it's likely just a product of pure imagination and romanticism. None the less, I could listen to Kevin speak about anything for hours. Not only is his accent just brilliant, he's clever and intelligent too. People lucky enough to be called his friends have hit the jackpot. I wish I could be one.
It's not a product of your imagination, Stan, it's just a fetish some people have :D I've been living in Ireland for 12 years, and it doesn't go away - the romantic notions about Ireland I once had are long gone, and I still get all animated and excited whenever I hear an Irish people speak (particularly if said person is from the North). Aye, tis a thing alright ;)
ThatDutchguy I'm not your mate,,, buddy. =). Let me translate this into bro for you. I like his accent. I think hes pretty smart and witty.Would be cool to be a friend of his. And for that compliment, I am pronounced a potential stalker? Pull the stick out buddy. Smile once in a while.
Katharina Great to know it's not just me. The episodes of Star Trek (in various incarnations), with an Irish / Scottish slant are some of my favorite. I even watched Monarch of the Glen and enjoyed it a great deal right up until the old man left the series. Bit down hill from there, but you get my point. Good stuff.
Comes across as such a nice guy, top man. Bats away the shite that Ross throws at him brilliantly. Ross on the other hand, sounds like something arsehole stuck in the "Carry On" era.
Scot not "Scotch". The Scots haven't been known as the "Scotch" for over 400 years, that's like calling an English person a Saxon or a Norman. I'd expect that pish from an American but not an English person.
This dude is brilliant! Seen him live at The Comedy Store some years ago but forgotten his name, was looking forward to hear about him again. Thanks for the upload!
I've been studying psychology for three weeks now and you sound like an interesting case-study... you've seen Kev live a couple of times and yet you can hardly wait to see him live. There's a question in there somewhere ... I can't quite put my finger on it ... :-)
Haha! I was a bit drunk when I wrote that, I knew what I meant but it came across wrong. I meant that i've only seen him in a tiny little comedy club room, but I want to see him in a big arena. Well spotted though, thumbs up!
Well ... since you've destroyed my career in psychology, I'll become a comedian - here's my first joke ... If we're drinking and someone says - thumbs up - I'd say ... shouldn't that be - bottoms up? Give Kev a big kiss from me - when you see him that is. Keep smiling ...
Funny guy!! :) lol Great to see young comedians of this class coming through the ranks nowadays. Mr Connelly, although great in his time, has seen his day. Kevin is not only very watchable on stage but comes over well in interviews.
Supposedly he's a bit up himself on the drink. Had a few guys I kbiw bump into him and he acts a bit knobbish if he gets a row. Acts a bit billy big bollocks but ye can always chalk that up to no handling the drink well. I reckon he's sound after a few but maybe no your best bet for a night out.
there's something about scottish comedians.. they are very smart, funny, and humble at the same time. This guy is fucking hillarious. And to learn that he's only 23 now was quite a shock. He's got a brilliant future ahead of him!
Im scottish, very proud of Kevin Bridges, he's a brilliant comedian. You just wish sometimes that they would interview him as if he was from somewhere in England rather than spending time on scotland being a place of deep fried mars bars eating hooligans. Just give him the airtime on his comedy, not stupid rumours.
Saw this guy at the Hammersmith Apollo last night and he was unbelievable. I am not a hard laughing person but by the end I was crying my eyes out. Go and see him!
Nah mate he wis pretty tame here! He said the same jokes from the DVD on this segment with JR but it was way more rough in DVD cos he wis in Glasgow so he is permitted to 'speak' normally as oppossed to tailoring his speech for a wider UK audience.
The deep fried mars bar is not a myth. But the myth is that chippies sell them. You basically need to go in any chippy with a mars bar and ask them to deep fry it for you.... for a price.
Cant believe he's only 23! Looks about 30, and his sense of humour seems much older than his years. Great interview. Also, why do people argue on TH-cam? haha deary me
Danielle Boydon no don’t worry, I’m in Canmore, AB and the Malcom Hotel sells them. Unfortunately it’s a Canadian Mars bar and that’s just not a good thing on its own, let alone deep fried

I have actually tried a deep fried Mars Bar. The trick is you put it in the freezer till it's frozen, batter it and in the oil it goes. Cook till the centre is soft. Surprisingly agreeable though.
I know what he means about the accent i'm scottish living in australia and most people don't have a fuckin scooby what i'm talkin about most of the time
I remember this being on. Ross is sooo patronising with him. "You could speak like that all the time". Grr. And I know he's a funny Scottish comedian...but does that really have to be at the centre of the interview...? Hrm.
Jr does nothing for me. He is one of the overpaid BBC luvvies who just seems to have a slapstick humour. He would be at home in the Carry On movies. Now KB is great.
I can't argue that my country isn't beautiful. At least, Munich, the city I was brought up in, is stunning. That is not the problem I had, I just didn't feel home. I just can't get on with the attitude towards life that people have in Germany therefore I am glad being able to relate on the view on life of people in Northern England. Ive heard that I have a thick skin and that I am very strong and brave to do all of this on my own. For me personally it's just if you want something go and get it.
I live in Glasgow and Deep Fried Mars Bars are as easily accessible as walking into a Chippy and asking for one. They don't display them though - but they taste fecking amazing!
Deep fried Mars is readily available in Leeds. In fact, most chippies are privately owned and if you're getting fish n chips and ask them to drop a Curly Wurly then they probably would!
A deep fried Mars bar is a real thing...my maths teacher was from Glasgow and brought one back... how it didn't melt by the time he got back down south, I have no idea.

And he's got a great story and good on him for just going for it, one for the best comedian's on tv.

He's so likeable. I should think his thick Scots accent is quite a challenge to foreigners!
Saw him in Glasgow a few days ago, potentially the best thing we have as a city
This guy is a comedian of the highest level he is absolutely class

Mr Connelly, although great in his time, has seen his day.
Kevin is not only very watchable on stage but comes over well in interviews.
The plethora of current Scottish comedians have made us all concentrate much more when listening.
We love him in Australia too. English, Irish and Welsh comedians are our favorites.
So, no Scots - just English, Irish and Welsh. Fair enough.
Kevin Bridges is the funniest man on the planet!!!!! I can't wait till he tours...I love his accent,it's awesome!!!!!
