Thank you so much for this video. I had been suffering pain in my little toe for about 2 months. Too stubborn to go to a doctor I googled my symptoms and found you. I ordered the toe separators and 5 days later they arrived. Almost immediately the pain was gone. I couldn't believe this little piece of rubber could take away a pain so intense I thought my toe was falling off, felt like the toe had a rubberband ever-tightening at the base. I can walk without limping. Heck - I can walk period. Thank you.
Although this video was done years ago, I am so extremely happy I found it. No one even my doctor understood the horrible shooting pain I suffer from the corn or blister between and under my pinky toes so when this video hit on that symptom I knew I had finally found a place to go to help with treatment and advice. Thank you
I knew there was a reason for this pain and it makes perfect sense. I made an appointment to see a foot doctor, but now after watching this I might cancel my appointment and try this first. Thanks for the info.
Thank you very much for this video. I have been searching for months about the pain I am having on my little toe and finally this video came up. It feels like a piece of glass is under the skin and sometimes it feels like my toe is on fire, as if a lighter or match was being held under it. I am going to try that outer toe wedge. Thank you ;)
Susan I have only just come across this video, and working my way through the comments. Yours interested me because of the 'piece of glass' feeling. This sounds to me as if it could be oxalates causing the stabbing. These are tiny shards of crystals caused by too much oxalate food being eaten. Do hope this reaches you, after four years.
@@gracecotton9819 Thank you for the new information. I am going to look into this. I had since gone to a podiatrist and he was giving me shots in the toe. I had to stop seeing him because the pain was too much every visit. I still have pain in the toe but not as often. Thank you again for the reply
Great to find you! I've had a burning reddened swollen pinky toe now for almost a week! It doesn't turn it towards my 4th toe though. I've had gout in my big toe before, do you think it could be gout? I just woke up with it one morning about a week ago. Been drinking apple cider vinegar couple times a day, which I've heard is great for gout, to no avail. Maybe it takes longer to go away! Any thoughts? It bothers me because I can only wear flip flops with this pain!!!!

I had a sprain in the little finger of the hand, and the x-ray and ultrasound are intact, but the finger is currently curved and reddish in the middle joint, and I can only bend it at a small angle. I am currently two months old. Can you advise me on the treatment method? Thank you very much, Doctor.
This brilliant I have problem with my pinky toe I hit my foot on the chair that was in April 2016 . As it was summer I had open toes shoes now that it is a bit cooler wearing close toe shoe does hurt when a bit of pressure is on it . I went to see my doctor today they said it is unlikely that is fractured because is more the tip of the toe which is painful when moving the toes upwards and from the inside way out those to manoeuvre are pain full , downwards is fine . My doctor suggested that I tie my pinky toe and use some deep heat . What can I do any suggestion will be appreciated . Thank you
This is one of those things that is difficult to evaluate online. Is there any chance you can see a doctor who is a foot specialist. They will be able to figure out the problem in a couple seconds most likely. It could be the bone, the toenail, a corn.....a number of things can cause that type of pain.

I banged my pinky toe on my right foot a while back, and it is swelling on the side, and I do feel some slight pain when it moves now and then. Being diabetic is part of the issue, and I just wonder if I ended up temporarily hurting it, or breaking it or something??
Bron Youngblood Interesting that you said being diabetic is part of the issue. How so? An earlier poster mentioned insulin resistance being a cause of this toe problem. Would you agree with this? Hope that your toe is better by now, anyway.
@@gracecotton9819 Well I figured it may be the cause because of issues with blood flow now and then, even as I engage in regular exercise by doing a lot of walking. But yeah, it’s much better now
Dumb question but how do you get your shoe stretched? I have a painful tailor's bunion an cannot get a shoe wide enough to avoid the outside of my foot from hitting the shoe.
Hi Alteya - There is really not way to know if there was a break or dislocation without x-rays. In the meantime I recommend treating it as if it were broken. That way it will be protected just in case. You can learn more about treating broken toes here: www.footankle.com/injuries-foot-ankle/toe-fractures/

Typical advice from a Doctor Most feet problems are liver damage due to insulin resistance syndrome and the excessive nitrogen coming out of extremities such as feet in estrogen inbalance. Years of eating sugar, alcohol, high glycemic index carbs and very little vegetables especially cruciferous which bring enzymes and antioxidants. You'll be wearing those things for the rest of your life and even if you have the operation it's likely to come back if your food intake isn't changed.
Ok. Where do I start. First, I agree absolutely 100% on the horrible health toll related to sugar intake and high carb diets. Over half of the United States population is now insulin resistant from the misguided focus on low-fat and high carb over the last 30 - 40 years. Also, there are many foot issues related to this including diabetic neuropathy and neuropathic wounds. Given that, there is no evidence that the musculoskeletal issues I am discussing here are related to diet. There are well-understood and researched biomechanical issues that lead to these changes.
I have the issue of my fourth and fifth toes curling inward and it’s created a pointy triangle-like callous that I can’t seem to get rid of. Will this reverse the callouses? If not, how should I fix them?
There are a number of causes of pinky toe numbness. Often it is due to pressure on one or more of the nerves going to the pinky toe. You should find a good podiatrist in your area who can diagnose what nerve is involved and advise you on how to reduce pressure on it. There are also other issues that should be evaluated. For example, some toe numbness can be due to a back problem. In summary, an exam needs to be performed and a diagnosis made before a good recommendation on treatment can be made. You can find our list of recommended podiatrists throughout North America here: www.footankle.com/patients/podiatrists-outside-washington/ Good luck!
I know some really good UK podiatrists, but podiatry is like every profession everywhere. Some practitioners are really good, some are really bad and most are somewhere in-between.
