Beautiful cooking my brother. This soup originated from Bendel State which is now Edo and Delta state, located in the southern part of Nigeria. The Edos eat this soup with pounded yam, while the deltas eat this soup with starch. This is my favorite soup. Thanks for sharing!
Just to give you a little tip! if you are cooking the Banga soup from the Uroboh's in Delta state which is called "amiede" meaning the water from the palm nut. instead of saint leave you add "beneatete" or dry bitter leave (vegetable) if you are using fresh meat or dry. You will get the true taste if you use dry bush meat " Tikko" best result or taste when you add your "tieko and rogaje" spices immediately after pouring in your palm kennel extract. Well done Bro!
Respect man! The way you cooking is a call from the past! When we didn't have refrigerators so we have to dry/cure/preserve food! When we didn't have cheap over prosiest food that is not nutritious nor healthy & nor good to environment! When we appreciate what we have so nothing go to waste! Genuine traditional cuisine that we all used to eat -in the distance past- around the globe ... With a local/country to country deferent variation!
This looks delicious!! I am not Nigerian and found your channel and have so enjoyed your recipes. I am unable to find most of the ingredients but I'm an excellent cook and hope to re-create some of these. If so I will post and tag you on FB. Thank you for sharing!
+hussain30 DD he sure is crazy. Cazy in love that he has an American wife that loves his culture and wants to learn as much as possible. Thanks for your support!
My broda, what did you eat the Banga soup with? In Delta state where I come from where this soup originates, we would eat this with starch. This is my favorite soup. When my mum would ask me to prepare this soup when I was younger, she would often keep a very stern eye on me, as I had the habit of eating the cooked palm nuts to her chagrin. She had to worry and ensure that the quantity that went in my mouth, was not more than what was required for the soup! Watching your video has made me very hungry indeed. I see you've already got some marriage proposals! God bless/help the lady who is fortunate to marry you!
I have been watching you for years without commenting but learning. I showed my husband your cooking skills today and he said he knows you in GCI. Said they call u kolijay.
Hello Kikelomo.. Thanks for your loyalty. Your husband is right. I am KollyJay. My regards to him even though I can't remember. Once an old boy, forever an old boy! Up School!

I am a good cook, I can make most Nigerian dishes, banga, egusi, vegetable, okra loads more and i am only half Nigerian. It's annoying when a Nigerian girl can't cook. Favourite Nigerian meal is Banga and Egusi
You did not waste time at all and that l like but l would have preferred if you showed us the process from the beginning. I just saw a pot boiling and you added the stock.
Don't lie about what we like. You chose to surround yourself around limited folks here. You don't like it? Go back where you came from...and don't come back...until you can be respectful...and afford ( you must don't have a car and live somewhere remote in America) to eat like the West African native you claim to be!
