Thanks for sharing this recipe because I was very hesitant about using fresh aloe to make aloe oil due to the water content. I just made this following your technique and I must say that it was the quickest and easiest recipe for aloe vera oil that I've seen. I made the aloe powder myself, and I used mostly coconut oil but I added a little olive oil, Jamaican black castor oil, and black seed oil. I am so excited to try it!

hey SheRea, i've made my aloe vera oil by using the double boiler method and it works way better than cooking it directly on heat.
i dice the aloe in bits, add the oil to a glass bowl then dump the aloe in the oil and add 2 tablespoon of moringa powder. By using the double boiler method, you get to preserve the nutrient and the oil comes out super thick. Its so moisturizing on my hair.
I still don’t trust adding water (aloe) to oil but glad it works for you

So...i have aloe (and cacti which we call scrunching needle)growing all around my home but i can't seem to find aloe vera powder on the island lol. I very unsuccessfully (very) tried making it. If I can get my tresses to your before pic life would be ALL GOOD! And you're so right about using fresh aloe. I tried this method and added a preservative but I'm not feeling it and it separates into water on the bottom of the container I have it in. The video I watched blended it first and my dumb a$$ did the same then cooked it on low🤦🏿♀️. No bueno. I'm using it in on my face & body instead of lotion so I can get rid of it. This is an excellent video. Coconut oil is one of the best oils to use when doing herbal infusions. I specifically use the fractionated kind (learned this from a veteran youtuber...Gabriel) your diys remind me of hers. For anyone that wants a coconut oil alternative, try babassu or palm kernel. Aloe powder is awesome stuff.

I love oiling my scalp! Hair grease would make my scalp itch & flake all the time growing up & then I’d just keep adding more smh. But since going natural I found that a good oiling on wash day keeps my scalp calm & moisturized just about until the next wash day! I especially love using Ayurvedic or DIY oils because they’re feeding my scalp hair happy nutrients! Lol thanks so much for another oil recipe to add to my repertoire 🤗

I slice and dehydrate the aloe plant in the sun then blend it into powder and infuse it in olive oil. I get a very dark potent oil.

Hi. Do you find that using unrefined organic cocoa oils sleeps up on this recipe? I made a similar diy with aloe and Amla powder and I had to take it out and sit it in warm water daily! 🤦🏾♀️ i know you’re in the Caribbean; however it gets cold here. This recipe is so easy and somehow I still messed it up 🤦🏾♀️ Mine has been sitting for about a week and has congealed. The powder has settled at the bottom but the top “oil” is thick like a gel. Do you think I didn’t put enough oil in my jar?
