Details of the new Polisport RM 125/250 restyle kit on my 2001 RM125. I went with the OEM color way, let me know what you think!! This kit fits all 2001 and new Suzuki RM models. I think I discovered an issue on my subframe mounting points for the rear fender, hence the odd angle...

I am oldschool i believe the original plastic of zuke two strokes between 01-06 was spot on, these new shrouds and rear fenders does not make the bike symmetrical and looks odd, but everybody got different taste i guess. Anyway Suzuki rm’s is still some of the coolest motocross bikes ever produced.
I completely respect that opinion! I mentioned in the video the original shrouds look best, and I still have them..! Just like playing around with the bikes a bit. I hope you can appreciate that it has a fresh powder coat, all new steering and suspension bearings/crank/piston etc.. Im currently editing all of that, so hope to share soon! Cheers to the old Zuke's!
@@tieNagle Oh absolutely i truly admire people who take care after their bikes especially in a world of fourstrokes.
Carmichaels last rm factory and the SOBE bikes the previous years were some of my favorites. So everytime i see a Suzuki i get flashbacks to the good old times.

Great video! Thanks! I wonder if the gap between the shroud and tank will tighten up when the bike is outside in the sun and the gas tank expands due to the heat.

Thanks, and good eye, I got it as kind of a hodgepodge build I took on. The frame and engine are 01, so I went with that..!
Tie a ratchet strap round the wheel and rear fender, get it tight so the fender is level and heat up with a heat gun and leave to cool down. You'll have a level rear fender
I literally have been so ****ING torn between wanting to install an RMZ front fender or the Restyle fender because of this EXACT reason! It's driven me ****ing crazy how some Restyle kits look sick AF, and others point down at the ground like it's some knock off chinese version frender or something.

The graphics are available through Decal Works in US, Blackbird, and Scrubdesignz in Europe.

@@Shipman37x They dont sell them directly, so I think us consumers are just the will of whoever hasnt sold out, and maybe checking with those distributors on when their shipments are coming in!...?!

Haha its all good, it was definitely a thing with the first batch of kits. I tried heating it and pulling it down but it stayed high like that. I got another kit about a year later and it was more flat!
Do you think that heating the plastic will make the rear fender drop? I feel like you I don’t really like the raised look it looks better straight with the seat
pjbarr96 yeah I totally agree. I put a stock fender on and it was high too.. looking into the subframe a little further, it looks like a tab broke and they welded it back on all willy-nilly.. so I’ll have to mess with that. I would hate to melt that fender down and end up worse off haha!
Also the bike is on the stand which makes the back wheel drop which makes it look even worse because the gap is bigger 😬
MOTO GUY also true! There’s a lot of factors here, I’ll drop it on the ground when I m finished building it and do a walk around!
CorMoto graphics will make any design you want and for any bike, they are a smaller company but have the best quality I’ve ever used, check them out online, also I’m liking the plastic kit so far, good job👍🏼

Do you think all the plastics from the 2019 rmz 250 will fit on a 2007 rmz
No, it wouldn’t be a direct fit. I have a 2007 RMZ450, the bolt patterns appear to be different. The shroud uses 3 bolts instead of 2 and the new subframe is mounted higher on the frame so it would change those mounting points. I guess you could always try to make mounting brackets though!

It looks more normal with it on the ground and weight on it, but I have found the subframes bent..!! yay craigslist haha
hey man I know this probably weird but I was wondering if the 2001 Suzuki rm 125 is a good first 2 stroke because I have found one online and really want and he's asking $3700 AUD for it and i would like to know if that's a good price, because he has only done 134 hours on it, has had 3 rebuilds and done exhaust, bearings and heaps of other things to make it look like the latest year model
Hey! I think it would be a great first bike, aside from being a ‘youth/child’ of course. The power isn’t too high, parts are really cheap and maintenance is easy on 2 strokes. A 4 stroke would be more predictable/smooth/consistent power if you are worried about it. My first bike was a kx125 when I was 15. That is a standard high market value, I would think going into winter and if its not in amazing shape, you could get one 3-500 cheaper. I paid $500 for this but the engine was completely trashed and the whole bike was in a box disassembled and has needed a lot of little parts/bearings/bolts. Keep me posted!
Are these aftermarket plastics that are made for this bike
Yeah, Polisport makes these to mount exactly onto the 2001 and newer RM125 and RM250, but it is just the shape/design of the current RMZ model.
Yea i hate how the polistar rear fender is i tried the ratchet straps trick didn’t work then i crashed and cracked a side number plate and said screw it and bought oem ufo plastics kit in my opinion i like oem 2001 plastics better although the restyle kit also is sweet

Yeah, I thought it was a tweaked subframe but now I'm learning their rear shock/linkage was different throughout the years so it might be from that... so annoying!
@@tieNagle I think that just how it is, Rachet strap it down to the rear rim and use a heat gun
Looks great. Looked better with your hand pushing down on the back fender. Lol these guys. Maybe a little heat and pressure to get it to bend down a little. Other than that. Considering getting an old project bike now. Wish these made the kit for the KX125
Haha yeah, I've actually already heated it up and tried to lower it but didnt want to do too much and deform it. This bike came in a box with a mix of 01-05 parts, and im starting to find out that the shock/swingarm have different lengths and mounting points. It definitely sits really high, Im thinking that is a factor as well.. And I actually just got a Pro Circuit restyle kit for the 03-05 KX 125! Its not just plastics though, its mounting hardware for a 2020 subframe so you can use a new gas tank/seat/airbox and plastics!
Did you have to get a Rmz seat or you used the same 01 rm seat?
This is the original RM seat. The fitment is a little off, the numberplate flaps dont quite tuck under all the way.

@@tieNagle not yet coz I try to get a bike rm 125 2000 model and try to make like that but I just wandering if they always come with the bracket for the front fender and the other one

Caiden long haha you’re fine, no unfortunately it won’t. It’s only meant to fit the 2001 and newer RM125 and 250.. you could still do the front fender and number plate update though!

Hey! It has the same holes to fit the newer bike, but not the bracket for a conversion. You would have to find a bracket or drill holes to put it on an older bike.. I wish they sold these pieces separately!

I got this kit for my 05 rm250 and the little air vents on the sides of the back fenders stuck in way too much and I couldn’t put my seat on I had to basically cut them off 😂 plus the tabs on the back fenders that stick into the tail fender both broke so they always pop out. Other than that they look great
Yeah, I noticed that on mine too when I did the graphics. I tried tucking mine in and they wouldn't so the seat is just kind of sitting on top of it now... Thanks though, i'll post the graphics soon!

All the rm restyle kits I see have that same angle on the rear fender. That's the only part I don't like. It would probably look good with the stock rear fender though.
everyone just heats it up and bends it to the correct angle
Where’d you get that seat cover?
It was a random eBay purchase. I usually go MotoSeat, but I couldn't find the neon ribs for this bike so just pulled the trigger on this. Actually turned out to be great quality and fitment..!

Glen Smith I don’t think you’ll have an issue! I tried a stock fender and it was off a bit too..
It is definitely a problem with the fender and not the subframe (it may possibly be a little bent still) but I have the kit too, and it points upwards like the one in the video. When I had the stock fender on it was perfectly straight as it should be. For more pictures and info I recommend checking out a thread on Vital MX called "Polisport RM restyle kit coming??"
@@lewismx8815 Ok I'll check it out, but I think I have found the area where my subframe is tweaked and potentially bent up. I'm trying to find one in good condition for comparisons so I dont start bending this one and ruining it...

I have a 2001. Just found I can get for mine at partsgiant.com They might have for your 2000.
Looks great but that rear fender or subframe needs tweeking.

180 Decals has the vector/template to do any of their designs on it. Highly recommend!
Very nice job there, but I am not a fan if the new look of any dirtbike. The 98 -03/04 was my favorite bike looks nice though.
Thank you very much! I agree there are aspects of this original bike I love. I probably would have only bough the rear plastics and kept a more 'age appropriate look' but that wasn't an option when I was buying. Do you have an RM?

This kit doesn't, sorry! They just made it to line up to the 2001 + RM125 and 250s.. I dont think they make one that fits that model either.

It’s a 2001, but the swingarm is from a 2003.

They didnt advertise that it was so I doubt it, but I also have a 2007 RMz450, I'll see if it fits and let you know!

It doesnt fit, the angles are different and the mounting points are much further apart on the RMZ450.. sorry!

YT LundMX, Clint just dropped a video fitting this kit on a 125 & he had no gap issues. Maybe it was an early issue that they fixed? Bike looks sick bud, nice.

No, they only fit the 2001-2008 RM models.. you should upgrade though!

The shrouds fit like ass. You would think by now they would fix that issue.

Poli sport has great quality plastics. BUT I can not stand the look of the restyle kit when compared the original plastics look.
Yeah I was really impressed with the quality. Im curious though, do you not like the look of the new RMZ's? Or just the way the new plastics work with the old RM tank?
@@tieNagle it just doesn’t work with the tank. Also the rear fender points to far up. I do think the original plastic has a good look, and if Polisport corrected the rear fender and made the radiator shrouds fit better I’d even consider them.
Rm have sure fucked up the front mudguard over the years... it’s ugly
