All of team Mexico (Leo, Sparg0, Skyjay, and Maister) at 17th is just the wildest of timelines huh?
Seeing MKLeo's fall from grace after being the absolute best for so long is gut wrenching, but hey, that's how the cookie crumbles. Everyone just straight up GOT GOOD at this game and finally caught up to him.
@@matthew44ableor he just doesn't care enough anymore..
He grinds way less and is so stubborn when he should switch.
Example against muteace he went byleth who wasn't warmed up, his joker was playing amazing tho in the tournament.
who knows. He probably does care since he's competing still. He probably doesn't since he's not placing so high. Assuming is all people can do i guess
well, at least Miya is here to keep flat gang in top 5s
@@Trattt there is literally an article with mkleo that's answer those questions, where he in said that he less motivated since he has other stuff in his life going own, man has his own business Besides smash
Light vs Kaninabe is one of the best sets of smash I've ever seen, this one NEEDS to be watched. Also skyjay vs riddles is always super fun and worth the watch
Big D almost beating Sonix was crazy
skill can only take you so far lol
Mute & Umeki's runs were insane and their ditto was the highlight of the tournament.
Also, Mute has now top 8'd THREE stacked majors in a row. The consistency is insane.
People are kind of sleeping on KEN I think, forgetting he was the best japanese player in Smash 4
agreed
If you tell me months ago that Mute will be the most consistent US player, I would laugh cuz he's always been inconsistent with rly high peaks. Glad to be proven wrong and rly excited to where he ends up
my king
Japan, trip I would say light is more consistent because of that
@firefatesgaming1855 that's why i said if you tell me months ago i would laugh, because of Japan. I'm talking about recently
@@quasark7158 you know that if we talk the season the jp trip is included..
It would probably be
1. Tweek
2. Dabuz
3. Light
4. Mute
5. Zomba
6. Kola?
Muteace also has the best sets with his neutral and movement. Very skillful display
watching a crowd cheering for a sonic timeout was crazy lol, someone changed our timeline for sure
stockholm syndrome
I remember Umeki Skyjay was pretty crazy.
5/8 players in top 8 were Japan reps. That’s incredible. Japan for sure has solidified as the #1 region in the world.
And Dominican Republic in #1 🙌🏻🇩🇴
Tarik winning vs Shuton was crazy hype
I've been waiting for this video since the tournament. Bracket went crazy
This tournament was insane indeed, I went to it, it was my first Major & first big event in general aside from a couple in California that are a lot smaller tournaments. I was just happy to go, the top 32 was CRAZY fun to watch, I was rooting Big D to get top 32 or top 16, he placed 33rd which was still damn good in a bracket this stacked, I also would have fought against Big D in game 2 in singles bracket IF I had won my first set, but I lost! my tag being ShinobiVII, I lost to sack.
It was still a damn blast, I just couldn't believe I would have got to play against Big D who is one of my top 3 favorites of all the Smash top 100, next time I am at a tournament he is at I shall try to get a picture with him, Dawson is a truly awesome guy. I also saw Dabuz in front of me in line at the 7-Eleven near the Port Priority 8 venue which was amazing & my buddies were in the elevator with Sonix. I look very much forward to going to another Major Tournament in the future. I got my Gamecube controller customized while I was there too! so it is time to hit the lab/training & play more Smash with more diversity of people.
I appreciate the news Esam as always. I feel like this video sorely missed some video references of the matchups. Take care.
Please please do muteace vs umeki! That ditto was so fun to watch!
"This season" as you say will still include results from the previous season (first half of the year). Lumirank earlier was the midyear rankings and it will be a full year ranking at the end of the year. I'm adding this because I believe Sparg0 could still be top 3 because his results were much better there.
I hope they release both a ranking for the second half of the year and a ranking for the whole year.
that's really intresting but could you tell me when the rankings are expected to be dropped cause I thought maybe first of january or smth but that just seems wrong
Yeah, that’s fair to evaluate but Sparg0 equally has diminishes in the first half of the year just as much as the second half with Summit 6 and Crown (9th isn’t a 17th bad, but Supermajor vs Premier moment)
Miya is just guaranteed Top 2 and Sonix only missed 2 top 8s unlike Sparg0’s 3. While Sparg0’s h2h is likely why he’s still 3rd, he’s starting to lose his spot…
I still need them to put up the Kurama vs Yaura set. That set was exactly what my friend (who mains Samus) and I (Mario) do when we fight. Please Satellite Smash!!
A BeastModePaul video would be nice, he really got a great run this tournament, but got somewhat overshadowed because there were so many upsets
Agreed he went nuts this tourney!
One of the biggest upsets for me was mvd over yaura. Between this win and the leo set he made a good run.
Where did you get that spreadsheet for the tournaments?
6:58 at the same time Leo kinda just gave up after losing. He went byleth the entire set and didnt even try going joker despite having played him the whole day which is super uncharacteristic for Leo to do tbh
THIS TOURNAMENT MADE ME A SONIX FAN
love your videos love muteace's consistency and love acola miya they're being so damn impressive even though I'm surprise Acola trolled and went aegis game 2 vs miya since he was winning
He’s been training up his aegis a lot lately and probably felt confident enough in it. Seems he was weojg
@@silverpotato4272 oh ok I thought he was just trolling miya because they always play one another
@@charlie8648 no he was definitely warming up aegis for sonix in grands. If he had beaten Miya he was going to probably try aegis because sonix destroyed his Steve
@@colbyclay5911 yeah the sonix vs acola set was not close but I just thought he'd switch to kazuya or smth
@@charlie8648 haven’t seen him use the kazuya in a while. But either way the better matchup is aegis. Kazuya would never touch sonic lol I think his best bet is to stick with Steve and adapt, though. Sonix is too good against aegis
Still waiting on that Kola video lmao
All this without mentioning the socal Roy main LIGHTSPEED is crazy, had one of the biggest upsets this tournament
whomst
Mentioned Silver? Awesome
man xd gale of darkness has the best soundtrack ive ever heard
Call me crazy but I think Sonix is top 2
I can certainly see why you’d come to that conclusion. I agree with you.
Not crazy at all. That’s a based take.
Definitely not yet but he’s in that conversation. His results are not as impressive as Acola or Miya yet, and we’ll have to see how spargo bounces back because he is most likely still ahead of sonix too
also leo won one of the huge tourneys no?
Did Sparg0 dip after losing?
Mute had a great losers run fr
not sure where you got it from but Sonix got 25th at Smash Con, not 49th
OOPS confusing it with the spargo one
Since we're talking full year, for top 5 we have 4 secured player (Acola, Miya, Sparg0, Sonix) then 3/4 player that can be 5th depending of their next event:
--> Glutonny
--> Light
--> Tweek
.... the last one is a bit further then the other, but probably also forgotten because he don't travel: Yoshidora
Yoshidora last 2 event is 2nd at Maesuma TOP14.5 only losing to Acola, beating SSSR, Skyjay, Asimo*2 and 3rd at Kagaribi#11 beating Paseriman, Kaninabe, Ken, Asimo, Tea ; only losing to Tea & Acola.
The only reason I think he's 8th rn is because of his lost to Rarukun & Raflow ; which are both insane but are by far his worst lose in Major
This guy acola id noz the best szop saying that
If we had a Japan vs the rest of the world Crew Battle now, it would be the most insane ever.
I'd like ALL AMERICA vs Japan/Europe.
@@hakirayleigh Japan/Gluto, not Japan/Europe.
@@user-nb8ep7oc8d Ohhh cmon. Tarik and Bloom4eva could help too.
I'm sure Shuton will bounce back.
As for videos, besides what you mentioned covering BMP could be fun, and maybe grouping some different upsets, like Ken over Sparg0 and Tea over Gluto
So about Tea beating Gluto...I think Zomba's joke tweet after losing to Kola at luminosity makes moves fits very well here: ''not an upset''
Gluto looked like he had figured something out at Smash Factor X, but that was a brutal answer by Tea, who now has a lifetime 6-1 set record vs Glutonny. He eliminated him from a tournament on five separate instances(only two of their sets were on winner's side), including winning two grand finals of majors over him; to add insult to injury, both majors were in France. That is one hell of a bracket demon.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 yeah I wouldn’t really call that an upset. Seeding wise, sure, but given their history, Tea is almost expected to win
Esam the video dont have subtitles
Whats happen
What is considered a "season" for the rankings?
Because if you look at the whole year's tournaments, Sparg0 still has the most P tier wins (Kagaribi 10, BOBC5 and LMMM2023) and 3 more majors (Major Upset, Smash Factor X and Delfino Maza 2023).
How could Sonix be number 3 with only 2 P tiers (GOML2023 and PP8) and no other majors in the whole year?
Consistency is important too but Sparg0's year results still seem much better than Sonix's
i think this season would be starting in August, approximately
Neither lmmm nor GOML are P tier.
I want more KEN pls pls pls
How crazy is it that our number 1 loses hard to two of the top 5 players.
Our number one loses to everyone else in top 4 😂
@@yurplethepurple2064 Acola still has a lifetime record of 8-4 vs Miya. Miya's dominance is recent.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 fair but currently I expect Miya to win when they play
@@yurplethepurple2064Our #1 is still more consistent than the rest of the top 4.
It’s really only Sparg0 tbf. As the other comment said, Acola is still up on Miya lifetime, and as for Sonix…a 1-0 in Sonix’s favor isn’t really comparable to the 7-1 in Sparg0’s favor.
Acola is a student of the game. We’ll have to see how he prepares for Sonix for WTT, if they end up fighting
I feel like mute is in the argument for 15-10 spots this ranking besides his Japan trip he has such good records and has been pretty consistent recently.
(i missed everything because I was watching daniel fornaniel beat everyone at the game he's been working on for 2 years at heatwave)
I feel like i watch every major up until top 4 when all the non-Sonic, Steve, G&W, and ROBs get eliminated. I understand that their gameplay is on another level and they're fantastic players, but I guess I don't get enough about top level smash to find it entertaining at all
You said Sonix got 49th at smashcon he got 25th 12:43
Definitely think he’s gonna end up 3rd or 4th tho on Lumirank cause they do a full year as a “season”
Enjoyed top 64 but I personally couldn't bring myself to sitting through Winners Semis/Top 4, the games were just so boring.
That's what happens when the game rewards lameness, lame characters become OP.
Shit ended at 2:30 am lolll
I still think Spargo is still #2. He recently won Battle of BC 5. But I agree that he’s slacking a little. I would say it’s #1 Acola #2 Spargo #3 Sonix #4Miya #5 Gluto
''recently''? Wasn't battle of bc in May? And how is Sonix above Miya when he had a really bad placement at smash con?
Pretty good list. I can agree to that.
Acola Miya Spargo/ Sonix 3rd or 4th can be switched Gluto
I used to say he’s number one but after his 49th placement at smash con PLUS 17th at port, he’s not top 2. Sonix, Miya, and Acola have been more consistent than he has
Spargo was #1 at one point, but he's gotten too many bad placements recently for that. He destroys Acola, but he's more consistent.@@xanander4693
