Me too, I was like a kid in a sweet shop with all the books, but I loved that relaxed, muffled calm that you felt as soon as you went through the doors. Oh , and that smell of old books!
Can't escape noticing the sad irony of Terry essentially telling Bob that no one cares about his personal situation and he has an egotistical look on things, when no doubt it is what James would have really liked to have said to Rodney.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
One of the best written and acted tv comedies of all time. I watched this as a lad and I'm still loving every episode of it.

Look at the style of bob's collar!
Jumbo. Had style in them days 😁
I love this TV series, but 'Thelma' drives me mad! Her voice cuts through me head like a knife!
Correct. She always got on my nerves. Like an old woman all the time.
@@terryhorne2582 and bob wasn’t?
When she in tom dick and Harriet Program, her voice is alot nicer.
Ove her voice
BBC put this classic comedy on main stream TV and see the ratings go up
Elizabeth Lax unfortunately died at 46 from cancer, what a wast of a talented woman, Bob's secretary Wendy.
Heart attack?
@@karl.weaver cancer.
Terrible, shouldn't be happening. !!🤬
I'd like to be working at Bob's office.

Poignant, this episode, given that in real life, the roles were reversed, leading to the two chaps never speaking to each other
Lovely stuff.
Thelma's colleague Anthea is quite a dish. Second only to Susan in the beauty stakes!
Some gorgeous women in this show. I always had a bit of a crush on on Terry's sister.
What about Bob's receptionist Wendy?.
Gloria the barmaid for me .
@@JPlokford me too
Anthea was really pretty no doubt

Today's t.v. is Awful. 😩
Elizabeth lax
What a total unfunny comedy.
Try mind your language. You’ll enjoy that.
Why are you watching then🤣
No I think it's an excellent comedy, not on the level of Rising damp and Fawlty towers but still good to this day.
This is superior to Fawlty Towers.
