These damn near irrelevant media outlets need to make money. The #MeToo Movement wasn't about giving women a "voice," and I'm not sure the organizations that work with SA and DA victims even care about the people, its about the money. High profile name + alleged abused spouse = a neverending story with multiple narratives. They will never give up AH because she's an asset to "the cause."

We expect decency and a certain level of thinking from media people. I think they are not as 'educated' and human as we think, just like in many other fields - politicians, government officials, most teachers, and doctors - they all can be rude and selfish.

I don't know how you're surprised. I mean disgusted, yea I get that. But the media has been trashing him for years. They didn't stop when he won his case. They aren't going to stop now either.
The reporters might want to show empathy to Depp but they also don't want to get fired.

I was sickened that there were so many unimaginative reporters at Cannes. Johnny answered the question not once, not twice, not three times… Johnny remained eloquent throughout. And then he finally called the press out on their bs. “I know you hate me and want to continue to spread the hate…” Not a direct quote but no one could say it so perfectly as JD could.

True feminism is about equality not misandry or tearing other women down.
It disturbs me how these haters have hijacked feminism & poisoned its true meaning.

    • @waterdragon2224
      @waterdragon2224 ปีที่แล้ว

Masculism is the rejection of the idea of universal patriarchy, arguing that before feminism most men were as disempowered as most women.
It wasn’t a division of the sexes, it was a division of class, power and mostly money.
Yet you never see “masculism” plastered all over the media like feminism is.
Regardless of what feminism was supposed to be, we have to look at and deal with what it is today… a bunch of extreme, toxic women who want all the power in the world and have no respect for men at all.
If you happen to be a “rational feminist” (is that an oxymoron? asking for a friend) then perhaps you should let your voice be above the problematic majority. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Why are those women STILL whining about equal pay?
Are the man and woman both doing the exact same job, with the exact same skills and abilities, with neither doing overtime, travel, or weekends, and neither having family responsibilities?
Or maybe the man puts his career first, takes extra shifts, goes out of town when asked, doesn’t have a family… maybe he’s a fireman and he can deadlift a 200lb man and carry him down a ladder where most women cannot. Therefore maybe he gets higher danger pay and is more valuable than the female who only drives the truck? Yes this is all hypothetical, but you see where I’m going…
I’m not a feminist. Never was. Probably never will be. I don’t like #metoo and I’m glad it died, I believe in the actual truth (not the fabricated lies spewed by the toxic group), and certainly not their agenda.
I knew Johnny was innocent from the moment I heard about the allegations. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time. He’s dated some high profile strong women. Women who I have no doubt would’ve come forward had anything ever happened to them by anyone. Johnny has always been known to be a humble, respectful, honest, caring, funny, generous, talented, beautiful man, both inside and out. ❤
Who was this random wannabe and why was she saying such hateful lies about him?! 😮😡
I wanted him to win that trial so he could show the world that yes, he was a victim of abuse.
The trauma and hell Johnny went through is all too real to those of us who know how it feels. I am also a survivor. 😢
I know the stress of constantly walking on eggshells to avoid an “incident”. I know how I was made to feel and believe that it Was all my fault that he hit me. I would lock myself in the bathroom to escape him. He knew how to pick locks. He cut me off from most family and friends. I won’t say more here. Just that I understand some of what he must’ve gone through.
      Why didn’t you just leave?
I used to wonder why so many DV victims stayed.
I had no kids with him. I could’ve just left him right?
      Wrong.
      He was blackmailing me.
It wasn’t money. It was losing a family member forever.
So I had to bide my time for awhile.
I’m so glad Johnny never put her in his will. Not doing that, imo, saved his life.

and the truth, if you please
      Oh Johnny, my Captain,
      I’ll stay by your side
      Comfort your sorrows
      And bolster your pride.
      I give you my vow
      To join you in battle
      To fight for what’s right
To heal thy wounds and heart
      To make thee whole again.

    • @luckyrabbitnumber
      @luckyrabbitnumber ปีที่แล้ว

I wouldn't be able to tell you a definition for feminism today, especially because it is an "ism," easy malleable.
      But what is feminism TODAY?
Is it Gloria Steinem inventing an award for Meghan Markle, and then the latter faking a car chase in Manhattan ( of all places, allegedly for two hours, according to her !!) after receiving the "award," saying it was almost catastrophic and yet filming and smirking her way through the catastrophe? A Duchess saying the Royals don't give her enough of a protagonist role, so automatically they are also "racist" which then becomes "unconsciously biased"?
If there were successes in the past, such as suffrage, it was because universal suffrage is good. There was morality and good character. Women did not accomplish those things ALL alone. Many men stood in solidarity.
Even in "Second Wave" feminism, when the problems were true, many men stood in solidarity
against sexual abuse, against unfair wages.
Good men continue to stand in solidarity, with women, and the same is true of good women standing in solidarity now with men.
The cited moral changes (financial access, workplace fairness) succeeded not due to the changing nature of -isms, but thanks to the appeal and response in the decency and good character of all decent people/citizens who recognized the need for and nature of higher concepts like justice and democracy.
Feminists can be any sort of person, good or bad, in the past or now.
But exactly what feminism is kind of gets more mysterious every day in modern society.

As for the movie or about Maiwenn not portraying Louis's daughters or Marie Antoinette correctly . Hmm.. The person or persons who wrote these articles know nothing about French History. It has been documented about the behaviours of his daughters and Marie. I believe they made the movie as historically correct as possible.

I really love the way Johnny talks. It's like hearing Shakespeare or Oscar Wilde, which most people find hard to follow, but if you do follow these writers then you understand that he showed his feelings on the Variety reporter that kept asking those awful questions. That's why Johnny really got along with Hunter S. Thompson, because they both spoke the same language. Johnny didn't deserve some of those questions. He handled it well. It really seems to scare MSM and Hollywood Puppeteers that he doesn't need them, but they really need him to make money. And I'm really sick of hearing about AH living in Spain. That's not news, it's a relief that she's there and I think she realizes that if she stayed here people would accost her with some ugly questions too. Not MSM of course, but the public. I feel like she ran there to hide, but with the help of MSM she keeps trying to make herself relevant. She's not relevant. She's an abuser and manipulator that will destroy everyone around her.

They won’t. But there are others who’ve had the same treatment at one time or another, in or out of Hollywood. One person I’m thinking of that I won’t mention because it starts arguments with people. But, a lot of people who follow entertainers couldn’t stand this person and said he deserved all the hate he was getting. No one should be bullied and used for fodder to make money. It’s gross. But, in our country, we seem to accept it when it’s someone we don’t like. I hope that can change too. Anyway, I hope JD can be happy with whatever he is trying to do in his life.

I don't like the fact people still call out this Actor as abuser, and the negativity of things. JOHNNY is INNOCENT. I love this man. I cannot understand the hate. Im proud of this Actor in how he handles things about these things, and yet hes still dealing with this undeserved treatment. I have been a loyal fan supporter of this man since 1987. I want to wish that I could meet him in person someday to give him a hug and take all this craziness away from him. I personally feel he is one of the most phenomenal Actors and decent men there are. I can only hope that greater things continue to come to him, that his life gets better again. I continue to stand by him in all his doings, and projects. Im amazed how he is so talented in so many areas, his wild imagination gives him outstanding gifts to create the most intriguing characters in film. So gifted in Art, and music. He is a rare and special treasure. And no one should be downgraded like this man has. I only want the best things in life for him. Because he deserves it. Please cournele Kirtz, I know he cannot see my comment. But if you ever see him or talk to him in person please share with him my post. I send love, and care to him, virtural hugs, the whole ten yards prayers too. Sincerely from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much. P.s. im from the USA.

Reading between the lines …what a unique and inspirational character true to himself always ….
If you can believe the stuff you stuff in your shoes 🤔)) he’s about to direct his second movie .. he might close the acting door until something inspires him I guess .. but I would say his attention is on his latest project he’s reportedly just cast his Modigliani Biopic with Riccardo Scamarcio, Pierre Niney & Al Pacino Starring; and he’s launched sales for the Cannes Market and ahead of shooting this in fall this year .. so yes .. he’s a pretty busy boy… and long since moved on … I think he’s following a natural trajectory in his career leaving Hollywood behind !!! I think, listening to him, Hollywood is definitely in his rear view… I don’t think many of its projects have ever inspired him and its clearly a sad breeding ground of woke and talentless narcissists to exploit … So who would want to hang out there… “live a life like that” … he indicates it’s not for him and never has been
JD has always led the way in his choices and creative endeavours living his life his way we/I love that about him .. He is a trailblazer understated yes, but to underrate him is to miss the masterclass from one of life’s best examples of creative genius
Long May He Reign” the placard reads…. 🪧“JD IS MY 👑 “ 🪧

I'm SO impressed with the way JD handled this & SO disgusted the media didn't bother to cover the film or include ANY of the other cast members. That was disgusting!
Like Fartlow posted on Twitter, AH is the one who should be there. Why? She's never been an actor & last I checked, Cannes is for actors. No one there could name one single thing she's EVER DONE!! She called the paparazzi to come to what we're disclosing is her new house & she came out to get a package (ahem) & greet them. One of the guys asked, "Who is this again? I don't know her." Then later said, "Oh, yes, she's the one who was with Johnny Depp!" Hell yeah! No one has a clue who she even is!!
I'd say you're right, Kristin. This was the first time he's been "out there" & it had to be surreal for him. I LOVED that Maïwenn jumped in & stood up for him!! She's my hero of the week!!!
(They want to ONLY pay attention to the judge who didn't even say he is a WB but speculated he "may be" and the media has focused on that only & called it out constantly!!!

The questioner JD was answering announced his rag first, Variety, one of those periodicals that aligned itself with a psychopath to malign him. Without directly saying f-u, he was ironically observing how the questioner was asking as if with no ulterior motive, masking the rag's malicious investment, as if the questioner's rag was asking as civilly as 'Hi how are you?' It was exactly what AH would have asked if she were there to stalk him: another way of making the same allegation that a jury already saw through. If he was eating at MacDonald they'd ask him there: "What do you say to those people who..." is actually the same Q as "What do you say to AH's allegations?" all over again.
It's so ludicrous a comment it shouldn't be given the credit of being a question, trying as it does to slant "those ppl who" as a substantial number of ordinary folk. The Virginia court already answered that Q: it's not too late to watch the trial on youtube and catch up, you'll find yr answer there, Variety.
7:50 That's why I was dejected that he settled instead of holding AH to account for every penny the jury awarded even if she found endless ways to avoid paying. Never settle with a psychopath.

Thank you CK for this informative video and support of Johnny Depp. Regarding Johnny's comments at Cannes Festival. After 25 years of my working in media, it's hard to be a fan of someone you admire like Johnny, when you hear understandable comments back to media like this. Im afraid I would have asked the same questions but not because I hated him, or wanted to shame him but they are usual questions in line with where he was, compared to where he is now. A better question could have been, 'what's it like being back on the red carpet again after the hiatus you've had over the past few years'? It probably may have gained a more positive response perhaps. Lol. 😢 I thought the same as you, that the, 'God I hate you' comment came from a longstanding sustaining of trying to keep his emotional condition in the right place, for in excess of 6 years, without any, 'right of reply' or legal relief, to the horrific allegations levelled against him. Yes. You're right. The hit pieces just keep coming and speculatively, perhaps that's why he's gone to live where he feels he is left alone by media and can be himself. He's done so well and deserves the wonderful accolades and celebration he had at Cannes. May good things keep opening up for him. 😊❤❤👍

I am so proud of Johnny!!! I absolutely adore him! I love the fact he narrowed down his haters to possibly 39 people. It’s an odd number and I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew who the haters are behind those rag magazines. I understood that he knew whatever the truth is regarding him they would twist it to mean the exact opposite. I feel like it’s some kind of spiritual warfare when he’s concerned. The media seems to act a lot like turd girl did. They seem to be jealous and just out to get him.
Maybe he’s just too much for them to take. He’s got it all and he’s multi talented. I love the deep down cool JD has. I don’t know if it’s because he’s so well read but he’s very emotionally mature and centered. He keeps things in perspective which he wisely advises his haters to do.
Judging by the new hating articles I don’t think they will ever see themselves for what they are. I also think I have respect for the writer. She is pretty courageous.

The 2 reporters he was answering their questions, and dare say referring to, were magazines owned by the same company. They're known to have always been the most critical of him. And his answer about his "come back" role... answering that he hadn't gone anywhere. Or his response to a question about his legal woes...he responded that it was like him eating a Big Mac from McDonald's and 39 angry people sitting in a room watching him eat the burger on a loop... like these people have nothing better to do but rehash the same thing. In other words, move on and get past this because he is. But I agree, he was traumatized by the trial. He was willing to keep the secret that she had been abusing him when they divorced. But, she married him to climb the ladder, and he was merely a rung high up on the ladder. I couldn't imagine being lock down with that swirling around the world every time SHE spoke. Buy, that's why he ended up at Jeff Beck's home for a year. Silver lining in that whole mess. But, Johnny looked so healthy...the longest I've seen him clean and sober 😄
