Its because Japan loves and respects Michael Jackson (Miracle is based off of him), and now that he's passed, they honored him with this mini game where you can never beat him. It's not the player, the mini game is scripted to always have you lose no matter what.

Nah, that part is fine. That inconsistency comes from when they choose to use fever time. There is such a thing as doing a fever time at the wrong moment since you could be doing it during a part that has 10 button presses, whereas MJ could be doing it earlier (and it's always earlier in his case) when there's only 5 buttons to press. It's still bullshit overall though. You just need to look at the first button press to see it so. i.e. The player went 9 steps and got 130 points, whereas MJ went 3 steps and...also got 130 points.
I actually like that Kiryu can't win here. Not because I'm such a Michael Jackson fan, but simply because I believe it humanises Kiryu even more. He's great at A LOT of things. He's the best fighter in the world, can cook, is a good model car racer, is good at solving puzzles and mysteries, is a great father figure, a good friend, can sing and dance like a god and so much more. But in some things, there are people better than him and some things he can't do well. It makes him a more rounded figure.
My one regret is that dancing with Miracle isn't repeatable, even if we'll always lose. At least the Pocket Circuit racers can be fought repeatedly after its completion, but we'll never be able to dance with the Popstar Prince after this. But hey, at least he's a _damn good_ real estate advisor!
@Gnonam Pony I didn’t find him to bad to afford sense I made lots of profit from real estate so I just made back whatever I paid him and eventually that profit just lead to even more profit so he essentially just paid for himself at least for me anyway.
So Miracle is unbeatable, here's why: In the game, a hit is worth 50 points, then you add 10 per additional step you make before the hit: Edit:0 steps (the true minimum): 40 points 1 step (minimum): 50 points 2 steps: 60 points 3 steps: 70 points 4 steps: 80 points ... 9 steps (maximum): 130 points Then as the combo gets higher you earn additional points: 1 combo: 0 additional points 2 combo: 2 additional points 3 combo: 4 additional points 4 combo: 6 additional points 5 combo: 8 additional points 6 combo and higher: 10 additional points What makes this game impossible is the fact that no matter how many steps Miracle does, he always gets the maximum amount of points possible, while Kiryu would need to do 9 steps for every hit (which is clearly impossible if your name is not Dio). That's why Miracle's points go like:130>262>396>532>670>810>950 then adds 140 points every hit (130+10) Finally, a difference noticable in the video is the combo, which is higher for Miracle, this simply could be explained by the fact that H1s6n did not activate the fever immediately which was surely why 2 combos passed during that small margin of time. TLDR: Miracle's the king of pop and you simply can't defeat him, period.

Every time I got thrashed in a dance battle it made me mad. But I was actually happy with this outcome and that was before I even knew that Miracle is literally programmed to be unbeatable.
You know, I ain't even MAD that MJ is unbeatable. Odds are for a lot of people it's the introduction to the dancing minigame; it could almost be seen as the tutorial. And hell, after MJ wins, he doesn't gloat or mock Kiryu: he was just happy to get to dance with a bro. And then, he gives Kiryu another box to open, AND becomes an advisor for the real estate mini-game. By the way, this was my second Yakuza game (After LaD), and I'm considering playing all the games in chronological order. And so far, Yakuza 0 is a blast. :)

Miracle simply gets maximum score for any button no matter what (that is base 40 score, then 90 score from supposed maximum 9 steps and +0\2\4\6\8\10 score depending on the combo), doesn't matters how many actual steps he takes, though for some reason he is still influenced by the combo system, thus gains maximum 140 points per button only starting from the 6th one. Not sure about Easy and Normal, but on Hard it's physically impossible to get maximum score for each button because many of them disappear too early to make 9 steps. So yeah, even theoretically it's not possible to beat him without cheats (and even with them since Miracle has no losing dialogue), at best you will just get the same score as him because he never misses. The only theoretical non-cheat win I can think of, and i'm still not sure if it's possible, is that maybe if you can get unhuman skill, then make max steps for each button not missing any on Easy, and get more than 800 points during Michael's Dancing Fever(s) since successful DF always gives you 800 points.
Yakuza/Like a Dragon series side content is unbeatable. There's a bunch of stuff in every game. All the way from Yakuza 0 to even the newest game Like a Dragon 8: infinite wealth. Even the Spinoffs like the Judgment series, Ishin, Kenzan, Fist of the North Star:Lost Paradise, etc.
Although you have more steps than him, MJ will always get the score awarded for a 9-step move each time he connects a move, even if it was a 0-step move. With that being said, MJ's score is theoretically the max score you can get on this song provided you use a TAS to get 9-step moves everytime.

Miracle jackson does cheated, because every hit they consider him as max 9 combo even though he does fewer. The only way maybe to beat him is maybe to time the 4 way combo perfectly during the period where normally no buttons will be hitted. I might still be TASable but it'd be something like flying outside of your gameboard and stealing MJ's button prompts so he can't use them.
He's hardcoded to win against you. Even if you set your own score to 99999 (max) he will still get 99999 in the end and beat you.

The only way maybe to beat him is maybe to time the 4 way combo perfectly during the period where normally no buttons will be hitted. However, I even think they consider those button as pressed for miracle jackson despite not reaching them
