Wonderful information. We have been starting to use the video feature on some listings and found it to be helpful. We use the time away feature and allow for sales to be made as well. Once a sale is made and paid for while on time away, send the buyer a message. We thank them for the purchase and remind them of being away. We have found that buyers appreciate the communication and have not had to cancel the sale. Thanks for great content.
I find mine behind a JOANNA's fabric store. They are hard to find, but if you have a golf store in your area you can look behind there too. Even ask if they would save you some.
Great tip on cutting the seal on video for new boxed items! I sell a lot of new hard goods, and it really bothers me to send something out that I haven't inspected or to trust my previous order info for box contents! Thank you!
Hey Mike, We’re getting ready to move and I’m going through everything to see where we can capture some value on resale. My wife kept her cassette tape collection from the 80s, hundreds of them. Imagine my surprise when I discovered there is some significant money in them. I don’t think thrifts even bother putting these donations out anymore, but there’s money there. Who knew?!?!
Subscribed! Great info! I changed all my auctions back to + Shipping because I just didn't want to take the risk I would underestimate the shipping cost in my price. I'm still pretty new to eBay reselling so it seems safer to me. Is there a situation where you find free shipping helps make sales faster?
Only when the items fits FREE SHIPPING. Most of the time I find it is the smaller items. I just have to feel out every item I list and where shipping is going to end up being.
10:05 Bon Jovi! Woohoo! Love him. I used to have a vanity tag on my car that said "Bon Joni" Wish I still had it! My name is Joni, not dechinta. I had some friends who nicknamed me Bon Joni, but I haven't seen them in a while and the car tag is gone, replaced by a handicapped tag, so nobody knows about Bon Joni, except now....whoever is reading this. LOL
@@goldenstatepicker Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Very much appreciated. They are by x 48 ? I just need to get some to get started. I have like 30 clubs that I have in my dead pile and didn't even look at after USPS ridiculously raised the price on the tubes.
On the board games, are they all complete? Do you buy them if they are not and if you are not familiar with the game how would you know if they are complete or not?
We try for complete. Today I bought a game Blood Bowl for $3 and I will sell it as parts. So instead of maybe $65-$75 maybe $35. Still a nice return. Sometimes as parts they can make more money. As for knowing what is in the games. The directions usually have all the pieces listed. My wife is doing games as they would eat up too much of my time.

Hi Mike...Question...so when you're on holiday do you put your store on hold? How do your sales continue? Is there an option for buyers to continue buying and you just warn them there products will come at a later date? How does that work? I appreciate the info. New at this...but also in California.
When you have a store you can choose to continue to sell items while away. Ebay lets the buyer know before they purchase that you are away until X day. You are allowed 15 days no more. So, you can't do a month etc. When you get back ship the items sold.
I make crap compared to you.. Worse part I'm down to 33 hrs. And make even less than crap. But I love your videos, very informative. I've been following you on my TV. I can't comment there.
@@goldenstatepicker not yet. It amazes me. I can bust my butt for someone else for eight hours . Then hit the gym after work for another hour. But then I go home and sit and watch TV. Movies or other people on TH-cam making way more money, frustrating.
Hey Mike. Have your Amazon book sales been slow? For the last 3 days my sales have been alarmingly slow. Who knows. Usually turns around. Just wondering if you're seeing this too. Thanks.
Today a bit slow last two days nothing great. I have a bunch of books taking forever to hit amazon. Shipped a bunch out. I think it’s just the weekend. Sales steady but not killing it.
@@goldenstatepicker Thanks. My girlfriend also sells on Amazon and it's been really slow for the last couple days for her as well. Oh well. Guess it's just one of those dips. Just keep putting the books in. I'm sure whatever hiccup it is will work itself out. Thanks much!
Hey Mike don't get me wrong I love you buddy but this is where calculate shipping really is advantageous. I ship receivers and heavy stuff all the time and if I'm a customer in California and I see your receiver is going to cost $50 shipping I'm going on to the next one. It would only cost $25 to get that within your state and you have a large Market. So you're actually reducing the likelihood of shipping Closer to You by having such a high shipping cost. All I'm saying is that I calculated shipping cost doesn't take any more time to figure out then it does to just come up with your own but when you put $50 on something like that it's going to hurt you if it's a item that's only going to go one or two states away
Hey, I shipped a driver through FEDEX yesterday and it was about the same price as UPS. I have a hard time using UPS now. UPS cost me about $400 when they dropped an IBM Selectric II typewriter and messed it up. Ever since then I have been trying not to use UPS. They have lost much more than the $400 it cost me in shipping since I stopped using them. I know they don't realize the loss, but at least I know.
I have had better luck with UPS. Now I have been noticing that FEDEX is again beating them on some prices and its about 50/50 now. As far as golf clubs it still is 100 UPS for me. Thanks again for watching and the comment..
you're wrong about how to measure those putters, you don't measure from the heel, you measure from the ball contact area on the face on putters, irons and drivers etc you measure from the heel, not putters though, i've sold thousands of golf clubs for over 10 years and i made the same mistake early on as you are doing.
unless you are disclosing how you are measuring the putters in the listings, you should be fine i guess, but if you're not, its going to be an issue, because you can't sell a 36" putter as a 37" putter if you are measuring it wrong
EBay does us no favors, I'll tell ya. I clicked on your store, and every single item in your inventory gave me an error "There seems to be a problem serving this request at this time." If I wanted to buy anything from you, I can't. Another glitch 🤦♂
I love Mel from Back From Burnout too! 🥰
Love your videos, am learning a lot. Doing ebay nites and weekends until i retire from 'job' next year. Then plan on full time reselling

Where do you get the golf club shipping tubes? And do they come in various lengths?
I find them behind stores. Joanna's fabric has rolls of fabric that come in some tubes. I make sure any club I ship is under 48" in length.
What kind of boxes are you using for the golf clubs ? I was just looking at some 4 x 4 x 48 boxes but I am not sure if they are good or not.
5X5 is best for drivers etc. I have 4X4 for wedges etc. I collect all sizes.
