- #cavendercreek #georgiavineyards #dahlonegavineyards We continue our tour of the North Georgia Wine country and discovered Cavender Creek Vineyards in Dahlonega, GA. We were fortunate to meet Claire Livingston, the owner of Cavender Creek and we immediately felt like we had come home. We are especially fond of vineyards and wineries where you are part of the farm and the wine making. We were able to talk to Claire's wine maker and took a brief tour where the grapes are pressed and the wine is made. Cavender Creek Vineyards was a such a fun place with good wine, new found friends and beautiful views. This has become one of our special places in North Georgia.

Thanks so much. This is great area for vineyards, wine tours and tasing. Around 30 vineyards all within a short drive. Plus, the town of Dahlonega is packed with wine tasting rooms. But the experience is the vineyards. So much fun, low in pretension, laidback and a blast meeting both locals and travelers who enjoy wine. Just too much fun. Hope you all get a chance to visit.

I did check after I inquired. It is not, but lovely no matter. Ne arrest Harvest Host to that location is The Cottage Vineyard and Winery in Cleveland, Georgia. You might want to check out HH since you enjoyed that type of trip. Free overnight stays and an expectation to purchase something - which usually is not that difficult and it does not have to be a lot of $. Saving on RV site as well. There are lots of HH sites all over.

We have Terry. We started the channel late in our travels. 2 million air miles, every state in the nation, Canada and more. We to love travel, take it slow and highlight the areas for all to see and the fun places to go. We’ll cross that line soon with our channel efforts.
How much was the wine flight?
I think $12. Plus bought a couple bottles.
When we were in Helen GA we were going to go there but did not have time. Oh by the way Tennessee wants their cabin back. lol

Plus it’s south of the mountains making it easy to reach wine country, Dahlonega, Helen and great hiking at Panther Creek, Tallulagh Gorge and loops ear the AT at Neels Gap.

I didn’t ask about Harvest Host. I’m not a member. You may want to check their site. Wide varieties of campgrounds nearby from family owned to state parks.
