Install works great. The only revision I would make is that the faceplate screws on the outside are now Torx T10 rather than Phillips head screws. Also, the stated 11/32” nut on the rockers are actually 8mm.
Please support products like this. If you have a V1 GT3 McLaren rim, you will know how defective the potentiometer shifters are. I had my wheel sent back when it was still under warranty and now it's again missing gears or not changing gears at all. The little button behind the paddle just doesn't click fully down. This is a manufacturers defect, which I believe should have been recalled. When I spoke to Fanatec recently they said it would need to been RMA'd back to them, charge me $60 AUD per hour, plus parts to fix! And they won't just supply parts so you can do it yourself! I'm now taking them to the Dept of Fair Trading to dispute it. So luckily we have guys like this. They are really supporting a gap in the market as a result of unreliable products like Fanatec to enable you to keep using these products that you spent a shit load of money on. I have many Fanatec products, including a DD wheelbase, which also had to be replaced. I'm now slowly get rid of all Fanatec products and purchasing more reliable products from companies that provide better after sales service and parts.
I went for simmakers but this video helped me through the process, perfect guide to remove the old shifters and install new ones. Thank you sir. FYI, I'm the worse at this sort of stuff so if I could, anyone can.
Just ordered mine. Thanks for such a much-needed service. Just started iRacing and the rocker shifters just aren't reliable enough. I've had way too many issues. Very excited to install these!! Thanks for breaking down the installation and making it feel possible in the video.
@@GunpowderRacing So I just installed the shifters on my Mclaren V2 wheel and in one sec i said wow ! What a nice upgrade. Smooth and much faster then the rocker shifter it had. Thank you for a great product and super fast deliver. :)

I would need you to send me some photos of the QR and then take a measurement or two. The USB conversions tend to have a different size QR mount and I can customize a part to fit it.
These look great, but someone needs to make a set to fit the V1 edition, as the wires need to be soldered on and there are no videos show how to do this.
I can provide you with a set with wires ready to solder or you can just clip the plug off and solder the same wires on. I don't have a V1 rim or I would make a video. If you would like, you can send me your rim and I can do the installation for free while I make the video. I would have it done within 2 days of receiving it.

It's a problem, as I just purchased sim pedals from Europe and it only took 5 days. I'm sure I could do it myself in any case. You have a great product.
It is an improvment iver Simmakerz in my opinion. Same size magnets, better electronic switch (good for 30 million shifts) and ball bearings in the shifters.

@@GunpowderRacing 50%? The app says 90€ to me as an european :/ (without shipping costs). The alternatives costs 100€ and the whole new rim costs 200 €. So it's half of the price of the rim for something that's not a new feature, just an upgrade. A price performance winner? Not really but surely a good product. For less money it would be very interessting for me and a lot of other persons
@@martinjan3427 it's $75 or around 72 Euro's - maybe it's showing higher because of taxes or import fees? It's marketed primarily at the folks here in the US where I include shipping for that price. But I do offer shipping worldwide and have sent several a lot farther than I had previously expected!

I just had the same magnetic button failure on my V2. I just ordered the AT3 paddles instead of dealing with Fanatec inaptitude.

i likw to drive with one hand sometimes. is it still possible to upshift and downshift with the same side of the paddle shifter

Hi Steve has this product fixed your double shifting issue? My GT3 V2 has a similar issue, slips down gears all the time.
Does this mod fix the missing/slipping shift issues with the current v2 wheel?
Are these compatible even if you have converted your mclaren wheel to USB? They use the same mounting points on the back so i assume so?

No it will not, it is just plugging in an external switch in place of the internal ones.

It isn't a cheap product and the alternative option on the market is 50% more expensive... so I'd say this is well priced!
