this was so good brother. I have been bullied and villified and even called a Jezebel for stating my belief that yes, we can and do sin and repentence should be ongoing. Praise God for His wonderful grace.
3:00 Yes! This is great, I love your simple interpretation. Helps me start to live a life of righteousness...I realise that how I treat others is as important as how we are before God.
Hey drufaith1 I salute you for this public confession. I also used to drink too much and knew God wanted me to give it up but the person I spent most of my time with drank all the time and it made it very difficult to stop. I started spending less time with him and more time with my daughter who hates alcohol and the change of association really helped. Also when I gave up smoking years ago, it helped that I used to have a coffee & a cigarette and then I changed it to a cup of tea and a biscuit and gave up cold turkey. It's not easy but now I don't have these things in my life I'm much healthier of course, but I have my peace back, knowing that I'm not letting the Father down. I don't know if this helps but I will also pray for you. The Peace of God is really worth the effort. Blessings to you!!!
@@julievp850 what a great idea! I will am struggling with smoking cigarettes and what I hate the most is that I like to smoke and are so use to doing it all throughout the day. I don't remember what it was like to be a non smoker and since I have turned backed around toward the Lord, I am not delighted to say that smoking is the only thing left over from my old walk. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated 🙏. Thank you for sharing. ♥️Mia.
I literally just read 1John chapters 1-3 before turning on TH-cam and seeing this video. Love your videos pastor John. I have learned so much from you.
This is Veronica Vanderver and I thank God for that . Because I know I am not perfect. I wouldn't make it otherwise. There are so many things to be mindful of that I don't believe any of can live up to the standers. We all fall short.
God bless you Brother - thank you for your heart in this teaching. As a strict scripture-guy, I have been deeply grieved by those who ignore the abundance of scripture that condemns sin in the life of a Christian (or righteous person) - using Yeshua's incredible grace as a means of continuing in sin, rather than as a divine means of being gradually trained out of sinful behavior through repentance. Jesus did NOT die the most horrific death in history so that we might continue in sin. Woe to those who use it this way. From Genesis to Revelation (and all between), God makes it clear that He loathes sin and does NOT overlook it in the lives of those who should know better. Peter, Paul, James, John - they all expressed this very clearly and many times - and yet many churches are ignoring the admonition to keep our lives clean through sincere repentance. The sloppy-agape doctrines were spat out of the pit of Hell and stand a testimony against many. Merry Christmas, Sir - you and your family are in my daily prayers. God bless.
Dear brother Chad thank you for your message this was a really good lecture how our lord God Forgives us by the sacrifice of his son I never thought of it that way before and I always used to worry about supposing I've committed sins that I can't remember I've done but I Lord God will forgive
The verse could be understood that if we walk in the light were Jesus is we will have fellowship with Him & His blood will cleanse us from all sin. Emphasizing the the relationship requirement & component to salvation. Xxx
Hi pastor John, I am listening to your message here in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, Riyadh. Thank you for sharing this with us.I came to understand lots through your messages. How do I join your online teachings from Saudi Arabia? I am struggling to grow spiritually, I wonder if it could be lack of joining together physically with other believers.😢😢,I have requested to join with the other believers here but they haven't given me permission. I tried online with the other group but I heard the pastor allowing things that was not scriptural, like he was allowing a man to marry someone who wasn't a Christian as if it's ok.May you please keep me in prayers, I desire to know the LORD more .
thanks for teaching. 1 john 1:7 if you walk in the light as messiah is in the light, we have forgiveness for lawlessness. Biblical definition for light in the bible is law obedience, psalm 119:105, proverbs 6:23. so light means law. if you obey the law as messiah obeyed the law, there is forgiveness for lawlessness. YO WILL NOTICE JOHN REFERS ALOT OF TIMES TO THE LAWS OF YAHUAH IN 1JOHN,2JOHN.
What about when someone at the church that's hurts u and someone looks at u like you did something wrong cause u didn't want to go back to that church cause of what someone says to u
Do you have a teaching on the conscience? I would like to understand more deeply whether it's my conscience condemning me at times, the devil, or a conviction of the Holy Spirit. For example: sometimes, even on the very slightest of things (and I think this must just be my personality?), I may be cleaning and I see that I 'missed a spot', it will bug me until I get it done right. That part of me really hurts me at times in more ways than I can go into. I cannot let go of things easily, too. Just trying to understand why I am the way I am. Thanks for any insight.
I John 1:3 says "That ye also may have fellowship with us: and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ" Clearly not people who were already in Christian fellowship but were being admonished to come into fellowship with God and Jesus. So, 1John 1 was not written to believers but 1 John 2 Starts with "my little children" referring to those were in fellowship with God and Jesus and himself.
Actually, you dishonour the cross by constantly, & repetitively asking God to forgive your sins. It also gives you a sin consciousness. The Bible says Christ died “ once for all “ , so there’s no more forgiveness available for a believer, it’s a done deal, a finished work. You are safe & secure. We are told to confess sins to each other, but not to God. 1 John 1 is written to Gnostics, or at the least, unbelievers who denied the sin nature of man. That’s why the writer says “ if we say we have no sin, we make God a liar “ and the cross of no effect. Constant sin acknowledgment puts us all on a performance treadmill, rather than causing us to rely on the sufficiency of Christ. Look up Andrew Farley, and see how he handles the text.
I do not disagree with you : Justification & discipleship are totally different. However, I do wish to add that "picking up your " cross was said to Jews living under the old covenant. We don't pick up our cross, we were co-crucified with Christ on his cross - big enough for all of us. Salvation is a free gift, lets not move the goal posts ; its either free or it isn't. It cost you nothing to receive it, what makes you think now that you have it, that its up to you to maintain ? You cannot boast before God my friend. You could conceivably live as a crack whore addict and still be saved and make it to heaven with NO REWARDS....but why would you want to ? You have a new identity and God lives in you ! You now HATE sin. You could sin, but be the most miserable sinner on earth.

Praise God for your conviction. With the power of The Holy Spirit we can be overcomers.

Do you think that the more you confess your sin and are cleansed that the light you walk in is increased?

Great stuff , squire !
Blazing Saddles?

Bingo
I guess it's wrong, but that movie still makes me laugh. Shock-value if nothing else.
