      @@VicBarry How does the action 2 do heat wise after the firmware updates? Is it any better? This is the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on it. I had high hopes for the insta360 Go 2 but it also suffers from heat issues. I still used it quite a bit on a video I did on Verona and Northern Italy.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Fred. I don’t think it’s made a great deal of difference to be honest. I’ve found when I’m out and about the heating isn’t an issue especially when its connected to the power module. But most definitely depends on the climate too. Granted we can say that about nearly every camera

    The real problem is that we wanna have ""the impossible"" without paying the journey. I mean: I have paid for a nonsense application (doesn´t matters which) when I could have paid this hard earned money in some excellent photoshop complements and also I could have saved SO MANY WASTED TIME TRYING TO LEARN ABOUT AN UNUSEFULL APPLICATION just looking with more patience and detaili what I have in front. Good video.

    Hey Vic, I just ordered my first DJI Action 2 camera plus battery combo. I also ordered the Ulanzi Single-Combo protective case and the DJI Remote Extension Rod/Tripod thingy. I do mostly time-lapse and sit down interviews @ 24p. I don't need slow motion or 60p, but I do need 4K resolution. I chose the battery combo, because I wanted the best possible running time. 👍 I must say this particular review left me scratching my head a little ?? Why would you even bother using the Action 2 for any serious still photography ? Clearly the Action 2 is all about video and not digital still photography. My main reason for buying one was to get 4K resolution Time-Lapse output instead of only 1080p with the OSMO Pocket camera. Also, I'm shooting location Nature Wildlife in all kinds of Weather conditions so waterproof to ten meters is helpful. Where the heck is DJI at with releasing an updated OSMO Pocket # 3 Gimbal Camera I wonder ?

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Mark, thanks for the comment. Yeah i totally get what your saying. To use the example of serious still photography, to flip that around you could apply that logic to video as well. Absolutely it’s about video but for “serious” video most people wouldn’t consider the DJI action 2. But at the end of the day the camera is only a tool, it’s what you do with it that matters.

    • @markjob6354

      @@VicBarry A good point well made Vic 👍. For independent filmmakers, especially those shooting a lot of time-lapse, there is no established level of camera(s) one would necessarily equate with this specialized niche of videography. Ironically, TL is all about taking high quality still image photographs and stitching all those into one big group of pictures with an instruction set, which tells the player what rate to play them back at as a movie. 👀

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  ปีที่แล้ว

      On the Timelapse side of things the best possible way to do it is as you said. A bunch of still images converted into an image sequence in whatever software you’re editing.

    • @markjob6354
      @markjob6354 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VicBarry Actually, that is what ALL TL movies are. Even the DJI cameras use a special folder they create of each Time-Lapse Sequence you shoot, which consists of a series of still images taken at whatever interval you set, then the camera runs a hardware pre-program high quality encoder, which renders those still images into a finished video file. In the original OSMO Pocket you can set the camera to also leave the still image folder behind, so you have the option to export those stills (Resolution of 12 Mega-Pixel I think) into a video editing program and render out much higher resolution movies from them....I think you can go as high as 12K video from those images ? However, depending on the volume of TL clips you are shooting (And I shoot huge amounts), the export and rendering process can take days to weeks. It's a hell of alot of work, and I used to do it that way, but just grabbing the in-camera completed 4K Time-Lapse Movie Clips and adding those to your Final Cut, or Avid Media Composer, or Davinci Resolve Time-Line is a much quicker way of doing it. I think the Canon EOS R5 even outputs 8K movie clips in TL Mode, while Black Magic Design's 12K URSA Mini Pro Camera actually can shoot Time Lapse Sequences in the full 12K DCI Resolution !
