As stated on the Glenallachie website:
Crafted from a combination of the finest Speyside and Islay Single Malts, including aged GlenAllachie, Batch 1 of our Lum Reek 10-year-old is the perfect balance between peat and rich, fruity character.
The spirit was laid to rest in premium Spanish sherry casks, wine barriques and virgin oak casks at The GlenAllachie Distillery. As time passes, the flavours marry and extract additional characteristics from the wood, creating a deliciously sweet yet subtly smoky flavour profile.
Batch 1 of our 10-year-old is bottled at natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV, with no colour added and non chill filtered for maximum flavour.

Hey Rob, I grabbed this and really enjoyed it thanks for the review . Have you tried the 21 yr yet? I'm considering picking it up based on how good the 10 yr is.

No but I’d really like to. Hopefully soon.

I have opened this bottle and it is a banger. The nose is very strong and I cannot drink this neat yet. A lot of water is added and it seems you cannot drown this whisky. A lot of dry smoke reminds me of Ardmore or Peated Benriach, and the sweet barbecue beacon smokiness reminds me of Caol Ila. I think it is the Glenallichie that gives the thick body to the whisky and Billy would like to play some blending experiment. Love the whole experience and I bought two bottles before tasting this because it is a Billy Walker Blend. Not only I trust his taste, but I also trust the integrity stats written on the bottle. The price was an absolute steal when I bought them.

Sounds like an absolute banger! Saw the bottles of the Lum Reek 12 on the shelves a couple of months ago and picked one up out of curiosity. As soon as I saw it was a peated blend by Billy Walker and made with GlenAllachie it was a no-brainer for me to pick it up. Haven't had a chance to open it yet, but I'm eagerly awaiting your review.

the 12 is not great but the 10 is held up nicely by the abv, so it actually works better

@@catnapgee5357 Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I guess they can't all be winners. I'll keep an eye out for the 10, but hope the 12 won't be too disappointing when I finally do get around to it. Thanks for the input!

    Lum Reek 21 in Arizona is $220 a bottle…I love Glenallachie 12 & 15 and the 10 CS…so ive been real tempted

Nice review. I was wondering about the CS, but not anymore.
I liked the 12. I should say I am a big Glenallachie fan. The Lum Reek 12 supposedly has some peated Speysider(s) in it. On the nose the peat is not that strong, it smells a bit like the sea, but there is also a lot of apple and vanilla. The palate is both peated and sweet with white chocolate, some fresh fruits, and pepper. Overall above average I would say.
Btw if you haven't eaten anything and then try whisky, it will taste a lot better. First, all of your receptors in your tongue are ready. Second, the dopamine reaction will be bigger.
