My daughter has a Passat, i took the wiper off to give it a fresh look (paint) and after installing they wouldn’t work. I started searching and found your video and Bingooo hood was open, closed hood and back to happiness. Thank you 💪💪🙏
Thank you very good video. I am amazed at how they have overcomplicated automobiles. That is absolutely unnecessary for the computer to control the windshield wipers.
I have the same issue with my 2006 Jetta. My wipers motor is not receiving the signal. Is it possible to fix this with out having to get a new module. I’m not experienced with vehicle repairs. Is it a relay that needed to be replaced instead ?
This video is helpful, thank you Evolution Diagnostic for your directions, can I test or jump buy testing wiper motor module,by disconnecting Lin bus wire?
test the Lin bus communication? if you have a lab scope yes, you can test it. without a lab scope I don't think you can see the signal the same way that you normally would with a lab scope.
there is no relay in the module, and sometimes yes, you must check coding on the old module to change coding on the new/used one that's going to be fitted to the car.
if the car is an older model, early or late 90's it probably has a relay, but if the car is a late 2000 like the one in the video, there is no wiper relay. it's possible that the wiper motor has one built in, but it's not serviceable as a separate part, you replace the wiper motor as a complete assembly.
Volkswagen is not the topical car company that you can just go and replace parts, it's a lot more complex that a Ford or Chevy. it involves coding, programming, adapting, resetting, ect! ect. it could be that the internals in the wiper motor are no god, but, buying a new part and just swapping it out sometimes is just not enough. considering that most controllers on Volkswagens need adaptations & coding, even if the part comes from a used/wrecked car that has the same part number. Volkswagen is very unfriendly when it comes to electronics. if you are not a professional, just a do it yourself kind of guy, I would suggest have a good scan tool that can handle module coding, and go through the painstaking data analyzing time to read the unfriendly data pids that by the way are not words but rather numbers from wiper switch, body control module AKA, central electronics control module, and wiper motor feedback data state. good luck, I hope you get it to work and park properly.
@@evoixdelaluz thanks for the quick response! I have a 2010, its like a transition year so its the same body style as like an 06 but it has like the next generation electronics, my module looks different from yours even though its the same body style. So if getting a replacement module from junk yard would a autel bidirectional scanner be enough to recode it?
Scan tools work & handle module coding in different ways, I'm not sure if what you have is going to pull it off, you need to check the coding on your old module & save the coding & change it once you install the new module on the car.
How you did diagnostic CAR was a amazing good job brother💯👊

Lol that didn't go well at the beginning, did it? 🤣

Helpful !!! You are a Master!!!
thanks for watching, I will be uploading more content in the future, stay tuned.

❤❤❤❤ been trying to figure this out after hours I found your video!! Thanks! Need to shut the hood lol!
I know right, that hood switch is getting the best of us. 👍
A little difficult to follow the orientation, but great video! Thanks for making it. NIASE mechanic back in 1980 (now ASE!), mechanical engineer.

Does the whole module need to be replaced, or just the wiper relay? And if it's just the relay, does it need to be coded?

2013 jetta tdi wipers will not park what could my issue be? I have tried a new motor a d same results

Good mechanic👍
Thanks 👍
do you have a URL to buy the scan you have?
es un Snap-on verus edge, nada especial, donde quiera lo encuentras, el camion de herramienta te lo vende.
What year and model is the vehicle you're showing here?
I don't remember exactly, but it goes from, or between 05 and up to 2010 or so.

Ik this is an old video but what are the chances you can show how to do the coding?
don't have any Jettas in my shop at the moment, but next time I get one in I can show & record it.
@@evoixdelaluz I would appreciate that a lot. Is it done through vcds?
Thanks a lot its very helpful
