It happened for questions asked in English. Technical fault somewhere in the interpretation service. The BBC journalist spoke in Russian and no problem there. Nevertheless, Putin was so clear with his answers, it wasn‘t difficult to figure out the question - and we’ve heard them so many times already.
Alternatively, Putin has a button under the lectern labelled “switch off mic”. Presumably next to the one labelled “fire nukes”.

Interpreter, not translated. There are some words and terms which don't translate well or at all. Russian vocabulary structure is different from English. Some words are not represented in the other.

As an American I can clearly state that Putin interview with NBC was very useful. At least for me, despite of sometime "hard ball" behavior of the interviewer. President Putin got direct access to American public (for me via youtube) and that was very important. President Putin came across as a knowledgeable strategic player on the political scene.

very strange,.. you can not hear the reporter his initial questions, and later after Putin answered, and the reporter says, the quations are not fully answered and starts again to question, the sound blocks out again on his questioning.. call me suspicious,.. but that is weird.
