In 1996, we were allowed to trek all the way to the summit of Anaimudi the tallest peak in south India in Eravikulam. We had to walk from the entry point. There were no buses to take you up and importantly , no que. and very few people. It was an excursion from college. Those days will never come back.
Kerala is one of those states in India that will never disappoint you visiting. Even if you don't know where to go, we can still enjoy with its natural beauty. Probably that might be the reason it is named as "God's own country".
Oooohhhh...I was stunned with the morning view when u opened those curtains....'Blanket' it is..Added to my bucket list...Thanks for such lovely super scenic views.... love u ....😍😘
The procession you found on the way was part of pilgrimage to the Tomb of syrian Jacobite Bishop ‘ Eldho Mar Baselious’. The feast/festival was conducted on October 2 of every year where thousands of devotees reach there by walk from many parts of kerala
Been there to Kerala some 10 years back, it is indeed gods own country. Too beautiful. And kochi luv that city. Thanks for bringing nostalgic moment you gave. Will plan to go some day. It is too far from new delhi :)
@@dorothy5749 Actually 18% of people of Kerala are Christians. For Christians it's not uncommon for anywhere in the world to name Immanuel (and we know the meaning). But from your comment I am guessing that you are an Israeli (from the fact that you pointed out it's meaning in Hebrew) and don't like the idea of Christianity ( I am just judging and have absolutely no hard feelings for any Israelites rather I love them).
@@ktj3917, I cannot see how my comment could mean anything negative. I just left the commend there for those who did'nt know the meaning yet, and perhaps liked to learn something new. And feel happy about learning something new. Also I'm from the Netherlands, and a Christian, and I read in a dutch bible, and when we study the bible sometimes we translate the meaning from words or names back to hebrew so we can understand what is written better. For example in dutch we know only one word for love : 'liefde.' in Latin, there are at least 3 different words for love. Learning about these differences makes us understand the bible in a better. Never my intention to insult anyone with my original comment, so sorry if i did.
@@dorothy5749 Well, Christianity is ancient in Kerala & according to legend it was brought here by St. Thomas the apostle. The church here predates Christianity in many European countries. Also Christians here use liturgy in Syriac language, which is a dialect of Aramaic. Our old Bible translations even used the word 'ammanuel' (Aramaic/Syriac word) instead of English Emmanuel.
@Super Man i believe you are not from kerala. Here people never ask or discuss about religion openly. 90% of the people are like that. Whether hindu christian or muslim we are always one.
@Super Man WHAT NONSENSE R U SAYING!!.. I think u didn't make a visit to Kerala, If yes,u won't say like this. Here there is no difference between any of the religions. Everyone is equal here, whether Hindu Muslim or Christian. I wondered how can you say to "stay away from Muslims".. Good and bad people are there in all religion. So please don't be a fool yourself.
Once again another interesting and beautiful video. Munar was already on my list as possible destination to visit when i'm in India next February. After watching this video it's now on top of my list. Since i'll be flying from Paris via Doha to Kochi for my next India trip, you're tip for Immanuel Homestay Fort Kochi definitely sounds tempting, although I wonder if I can right it down as a "hotel" reference when i'm applying for my tourist visa. As far as I know one of the visa requirements is that you have a hotel booking for at least the first day/night.
Jon Snow I’ve been to Delhi, Agra, and Amritsar (amongst other places), last January. I really enjoyed my time there and actually fall love with the country. No doubt I will at some time in the near fitste travel back to Delhi and explore more places in the northern region off India.

If you prepare you’re trip by doing some research about the places you want to visit you get a pretty good idea of what to expect. I respect everyone’s opinion but people are just to quick to judge.
