    I was 13, at a urinal stall in DFW Airport. About 1982, when a shadow passes over. I look up, and Bruiser was standing next to me, takin a piss. I beamed as he was my favorite wrestler, and said "What's up Bruiser,? he made a gnarly face at me and said "what's up lil man." It was awlsome.

    My father was actually a friend of Brody's. My family ran a gym in San Antonio, and several of the job guys from Joe Blanchard's Southwest Championship Wrestling promotion frequented the place.
    Ivan Putski and Brody had met my dad years before, and it wasn't uncommon for them to stop in once in a while.
    The first time I met Frank, I was probably about 8, and he was in the back of the gym quietly talking to my dad. I recognized him from TV, and my dad introduced me to him. He did the Brody bit enough to scare me and then chuckled and said "nice to meet you, how are you doing?" My dad said, "You remember Frank from the wrestling matches, don't you?" And I nodded and went on my way.
    I remember him being very soft-spoken and polite. My dad only saw him a few more times over the years. As wrestling started to go national, Brody spent a lot of his time in Puerto Rico and in Japan. Dad was really sad to learn that he was killed.

    A Brody - Hogan feud around WM 5 or 6 would have been huge.

    • @ernestcruz6316
      @ernestcruz6316 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It would have, but Hogan wouldn't have allowed it. Remember, when Joe LeDuc came in during Hulkamania they made Joe The Headbanger and gave him the gimmick that he would headbutt his opponents until he got DQd. That was likely due to Hogan not wanting to defend the title against LeDuc with the crazy lumberjack gimmick because he was just as stiff as Brody.

    mantell's presence at brody's murder is really suspect in my opinion. i think mantell knew and saw it all and, unlike the brave tony atlas, mantell kept his mouth shut and was rewarded with high paydays in puerto rico. mantell is the type of person who could see a person get beat to death and mantell would look the other way and tell the cops "i didnt see anything." mantell is a low life with no moral or ethical compass
