I once sparred against a fighter that knew about 7 Different arts. Most of them, Chinese arts. At the end, he was doing a movement similar to this. The handshapes, were Hammerfists, however. He kept his height stable, rather than going to the ground... and stepped forwards while he was swinging his hammerfists. It isnt just a movement powered by the arms. When the arms raise, the shoulder extends fully.. and then he rotates his entire Torso... so it becomes a full body-mass powered strike. His forearms were Thick and strong, from decades of hardcore training. The movement was surprisingly fast... with less than a half a second between each Hammerfist strike... I used to think such a movement was only for show. But here I was.. about 15 feet away from a wall.. and being driven backwards towards it. I knew that If I tried to use a handstrike.. that Id get my head blasted by his hammerfist. Then I thought that MAYBE I could sneak a really fast Toe-Stabbing kick between the hammerfists... But I quickly realized that even if my timing was Flawless... his arm would still end up Breaking my leg, in the attempt. By the time I realized that I couldnt do either of those... I was about 3ft away from the wall... and I waived the white flaw of defeat. He also showed me some other "Flowery" Chinese movements, that Ling Xiaoyu does in Tekken 3. He started from a standing position. Had me throw a punch at him.. then he parried my strike, when spinning around clockwise + downwards.. like a DRILL. When he ended the movement.. he was at groin height, and I believe he had use a handstrike, stopping right at my groin. He showed me another Variation.. where as asked me to low Round-Kick his leg. I threw the kick, and once my kick started to impact.. he again, spiraled downwards, and in the process.. captured my leg between his closing leg (at the knee bend between his Upper Thigh and Lower leg). He stopped just shy of closing it fully... which would have resulting in breaking my lower leg bone. Then he showed me some movements from "Tiger" ,of the "5 Animal Style". I cant recall the first movement.. but I believe it was to side-parry my punch away from his head.. followed immediately by a quick and light counter-strike: A Tiger Palm in a Diagonally Upwards vector, under his Jaw. This causes the OPs head to be upwards at a diagonal angle... set up perfectly for the Final Power HIT: A FULL POWER wide-swinging Tiger Palmstrike to the Opposite side of the OPs Jaw... designed to cause his Jaw to UNHINGE from its joints. The dude was built like a tank, and hit me with scary levels of power... even when he was being fairly "Nice" during our Heavy Contact sparring match. I knew that if he did this movement for real.. that he easily could have unhinged a persons jaw with it. He also showed another move, where you use an Inverted Tiger Paw (Similar to a finger strike, but bend the fingers back to the knuckles). You strike just under the OPs ribcage. As the strike penetrates deep enough, you Unfold your fingers, and use them to Grab behind the Rib Bone. Once you latch onto it... you then YANK quickly and heavily... causing the bone to break from the inside. Id already seen this technique in a certain Karate style. Of course, Karate actually came from White Crane Kung Fu... so it only makes sense. The dude could go from JKD, into Shaolin Longfist, start to lock you with some Chi-Na (Chinese standing grappling), and then leg sweep+throw you to the ground.. in a fast and viscous way... all seamlessly from one arts methods, to the next... and able to make it all work flawlessly, at full speed, and heavy sparring power + pressure.
