This looks like a genuinely adorable film. The characters are so cute to look at with their amazing simplified designs. The voice acting is good. And the music is so silly where it’s just so fun. It all feels so wholesome and makes me smile.
Wh-what is this?! What is this beautiful...flat form of animation?! Everything just flows so perfectly and nothing seems out of place and it's so pleasing to the eye, who invented this? Why isn't everyone using this?!
@@SgtBilby It may be upsetting that big Hollywood animation studios choose to forget about hand drawn animation in favor of generic CGI. But recently I learned to appreciate smaller films like this that still uses hand drawn techniques. There will always be hand drawn cinema, like the many great anime films, we just gotta pay attention to them.
Actually these type of animations really need to look into, how to give the voices for the characters. You guys have done it really great with the voice and background tunes. A wonderful cartoon, for the whole family to enjoy.
This underrated film was released the same day I had my first interview for the place I work for and coincidentally there's been fox sightings around my workplace and foxes are one of my favorite animals

@@riverboy1852 admittedly I start assumed that this was British because of the tone of this trailer and some of its jokes just really reminded me of British comedies I've seen every now and again. It just had that tone even though I well I haven't seen it yet but I knew Ernest and Celestine is French and it said so itself edits from the same studio so I guess I kind of was asleep at the wheel there for a second
GKIDS, you did it! I saw the english version when I rented on youtube but I've seen a scene in french. I'd love to now see it entirely in french now, as I quite enjoyed the french voice acting when I saw that snippet.
Both the books and the film are really charming and funny, but after seeing the movie in English, I'd personally stick with the original French dub. As Bill Bailey put it in the film, "It'll make children saaaaaaaaad!"
James Dalby Oh I thought you were talking about something happening in the movie that would make kids sad. That really is sad to be the only one in the theater I kind of felt like that once when I went to see “A quiet passion” a film about Emily Dickinson with my sister we were the only two black people there and I felt really embarrassed because the few other people in there were older white people with grey or white hair. To be honest though it was like a really small movie theater that probably not a lot of people go to and we went to go see a movie that I don’t think a lot of people of different races would be interested in seeing.
...Quiet Passion looks rather pleasant. No need to worry about audience demography. I'll call the dub a "gros sac à caca" instead, like the wolf put it in the original. I actually thought Matthew Goode was near perfect as the wolf in English, plus Celia Imrie was alright as the chicken. I just hope people can appreciate the stories beyond the language barrier.
James Dalby I agree with you that the English voice actors are a little good. But I still kind of like the French actors a bit more. I thought they were a little funnier than the American ones. Sometimes I prefer English dubs because I don’t like to constantly look at the subtitles instead of the animation when the films in another language. This is film I’ll probably see first in the original language and then maybe after a couple of months I’ll hear what it sounds like in English.
Same voice actor, Giles new plays his speaking roles in the recent videos...however singing? Thats 100% Damon Alpern...Gorillaz is 100% his as it started as a side-project from Blur
Is it weird that I like the English voices? I can see why people won't find it as funny though, British humor is different from French and American humor, that's for sure.
I love this English language dub! All the voices fit the characters perfectly, and the English accents go well with the setting.

I really hope this studio gets the recognition they deserve
That's some superb voice acting.
randfur that’s pretty much the case with all GKIDS dubs....

Because 2D animation is dead in the US Box Office (same [sadly] applies to Stop Motion given how NOBODY went to see Laika's "The Missing Link")

If they ever adapt Calvin & Hobbes into an animated film, I hope it looks like this.
low kee looks really good
Better than most of the films today
David K. What do you mean? There are plenty good modern films.
I was smiling through this whole trailer 😁
TrueBlueProductions Same.

Instant pre-order Blu-ray for me. Really hope it ends up in theaters somewhere nearby so I can see it there.
Kinda tragic this is a limited release film. It seems like it’d be a perfect film for elementary age kids.
djhero0071 Maybe some guy on a torrent website will archive the movie. Who knows.
"What if we became responsible adults?" ...naahh.
voice acting and animation are both wonderful!
I AM NEVER PRESSING THE TH-cam VIDEO DISLIKE BUTTON FOREVER
STUPENDOUS
I LOVED this flick.

Well this is one of the most British things I've seen in awhile and I like it
Christian, it is actually French, but I do agree that it is a bloody good movie. One of my favourites this year 😃

Should watch the French version

James Dalby How? It really doesn’t look like it could make anyone sad.
I was doubly sad. A: I couldn't take the dubbing, B: I was the only one in the theatre!

I think it would be more a but better if they had French accents...
I like it
Wtf 😁
