Really helpful tips Jess. Especially the Google Maps search for available transit into London. Just used that one myself this summer when I was there. Great job! Thanks! Love and cheers! 👍♥️😘🇬🇧
I live in Switzerland, the best airport for us is definitely City because it’s much smaller which means that you spend less time going through the airport. For everybody who can get a flight there, I definitely recommend it.
Honestly the airport question is more complex than you'd imagine. Heathrow is easily accessible but flights are pricier and the place is so massive that you have to factor in walking time. also if your Flight is delayed you may wait a while since slots are so tight. Gatwick is Good option with cheap flights (Easyjet goes from here) and good connections to Victoria (just don't Take the gatwick express). you can travel to gatwick by train pretty much 24h if you plan ahead, so late and early flights are possible. London City Airport is convenient but pricey. few amenities but usually if you fly from here you don't want to spend any length of time at the Airport anyway. Stansted is a good option for cheap flights. amenities have come a long way in recent years. Stansted Express is a bit pricey but if the flight was cheap it may be worth it. would avoid late and early flights to stansted as it's a pain to get to by coach (but doable if you have time and money is tight). I have never used Luton as to me it's just too far.
Week ago arrived/departed Luton very easily, spending around 5-10min. from plane to bus and 10-15min from bus to gate incl. luggage inspection (mugs caught their attention?). On way back arrived 45mins later bc of traffic accident on motorway and still had time to shop after security check - despite horrors I've read on internets about megacrowds at Luton, spending hours queueing. Not sure if I lucked out or Luton has grown for better. Gatwick is easier to reach but now it seems to be operated by hackers, flying drones and taking over flight control system.
Great video! From experiencing both major ones: Gatwick is easiest for flying into and clearing customs (on non-peak days) and Heathrow was the easiest to fly out of. Got there 3 hours early, was through check-in and security in 30 min.
Interesting take Tyler. There's not really such a thing as "peak days" or hours for customs because there is so much variation in when flights arrive, and who is on the flights (EU or not, for ex.) I've waited for 5 minutes and also over an hour at both airports. The only "peak" time I would say is the summer, generally speaking. And I personally have never waited more than 10 minutes to get through security at either airport-- it's amazing and I'm so spoiled by it now!
They dont fly out of a lot of cities, but Norwegian Air out of Orlando had really good prices on direct flights. Goggle flights has some listed in the $300-$400 price range and are DIRECT flights with good departure times and include 22 lbs of carry-on luggage (yes the will weight it).
What is security like in London at the airports, are pretty much the same things allowed through?? I’m mainly concerned about toiletries, is it the same 3-1-1 deal??
@@loveandlondon 😁😘 Yes these videos are very useful to me, because I like to go to london💙, I want to go from this hell💔😥.... ones again thank you very much!!!😘
Can you answer a question about medication? I take a bunch of prescription meds and usually sort them for morning and evening in a pill case. Can I bring them that way or do I have to bring all the bottles they came in? I had some countries are particular. Bonus of you know for France too! I'll be taking a train for that leg.
OK, here's my question. I'm flying from Florida to London next year. I don't know when, but I know I'm going to. If I flew from Florida to London round trip from from July 1st till July 9th would II be fine flying to the US on July 9th? Or would I be flying from London London on their July 9th?
@@loveandlondonThank you for the reply. That makes total sense. I'm a bit embarrassed I hadn't already thought of that! 😳 (and I'm that person that carries around my metal, reusable straw in my handbag). Best Regards, Shannon
Hi Jess, we have a 5 hour layover at Heathrow next weekend on our way to Scotland. Would it be feesable to use left luggage, grab an Uber, run to Stonehenge for a photo op, and make it back in time for our next flight?
Talardu svenska, The Council has issued a Press Release (01/02/19 1025 am 55/19) and the Political Declaration accompanying the Withdrawal Text (both published 25 November 2018) seem to point to visa-free travel for short stays. According to a Press Release issued by The Home Office (our Interior ministry) on 28 January 2019 in the event of a no deal EU nationals will still be able to travel visa-free to the UK for short stays. A short stay seems to be defined as 90 days in any 180 days. The Home Office no deal plans seems to indicate that EU nationals can stay in the UK for a maximum 3 months. I don't think you will notice much difference with flights to and from the UK. I believe in the event of a no deal exit UK flagged carriers won't be able to operate intra-EU flights. All this is of course is subject to ongoing negotiations, but that said I have just booked holiday to Berlin in July and so far we've not been notified by Ryanair that we need visas...
The UK Government has expanded the use of eGates at Heathrow to nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and the United States of America. the majority of nationals from these seven countries will be eligible to use eGates and won't need to complete a landing card.

There isn't really such a think Marielle. You can't really avoid long lines at customs.
I was meaning peak season. But even off season there are times where non EU custona gets backed up if 2 or more fights come in at the same time etc.
Take the train, the English countryside is beautiful

Generally the earlier you book, the better price you will get.

I don't but if you're looking for help with VAT returns, Google will bring up some good info (I think Visit London has an easy to understand article.)

You mentioned getting Euros for delayed compensation. I'm traveling to the UK in May, I thought the current currency was in Pounds?
Because it's an EU directive the guidelines are quoted in Euros but what you'll be paid in I think depends on the airline you fly
@@loveandlondon Thanks for the info and timely response
I assume that the compensation for late flights from North America, mentioned in the video, will end with Brexit. Correct?
Yes, unless you're on a plane FROM the EU to the UK.
@@loveandlondon Ah, another wonderful dividend from Brexit.
Even though I'm not a fan of flying. But I like watching planes fly. The Airport that serves most London flights in the US IS JFK.

Hi,
We are planning our first trip to Europe from Canada. We want to do London and then Disneyland Paris. What airport would you recommend flying into for London?
as mentioned, we have a few, whatever one you find that has good timings and prices that work for you will be fine! Likely to be Heathrow or Gatwick.
Hi, great advice. What are the tips you have for traveling from London Heathrow to Manchester?
How safe is it for a solo traveller?
Very safe
Well done.
For transportation does London have uber and Lyft?
For sure Uber, haven’t tried Lyft
No Lyft, yes to Uber.
Gatwick is actually in West Sussex Stansted is in Essex and Luton is in Bedfordshire I don’t know why and earth they call it a London airport 😂😂
Not sure anyone wants to fly to Essex or Bedfordshire from around the world ;)
Hi how hot is it in London mid june?
Hi Fannie, have a watch of my weather in London video :)
Why I'm I watching this when I already live in the UK and don't need a flight?
