  • Here are some solutions if you have a vintage Radius, Optimus, Primus, Svea, Enders, Petromax, or other brand lipstick burner stove that is missing the original flame plate. I show and demonstrate each of the possibilities.

    Great show, thank you for sharing this info.
    I'm going to try to build a burner stove and make the burner, tank and cap from scratch. Hopefully there are videos to diy this project.

      Wow! Really? Make it from scratch? That *will* be interesting to watch in a video!! You'd be at the cutting edge of stoves if you can do that with the skills you have. I hope you'll share your video-ed work with the world by maybe putting a link here in a reply. Though I see you've not published a video by "jenky1044" in the past. If you have questions about how to build such a burner, give me a shout. I'm burner fluent. I've even built a few... from scratch. ☺️👍 BD

      @Lorin-GabrielLeaua-fm1lw Nope. Diesel has to be under the very high pressures found in the cylinder of a diesel engine to be able to burn well. Research how diesel engines work and you'll better understand why no one makes small stoves that burn diesel fuel with a blue flame. It just can't be done. BD

    Hi Bernie. After seeing some of your videa, I have decided to write you to ask for your help. Recently I have bought a PT-1 russian camping stove and I would like to get a silent cap for it. My question is if you know where can I get one. A name or a link will wellcome and I thank you in advance your comments. Nice to see your videa now that I have something that after a lot of time, works perfectly. Greetings from Spain

    • @BernieDawgCinema
      @BernieDawgCinema  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PT-1 is a Soviet-era design that pretty much copies the Optimus/Primus 8R. So, the BD cap you want for this one is the Minicap with Legs. You can find the USA order page for the Minicap with Legs right here:
      shpws.me/DWiP
      But, as you are in Spain, you may find that it is cheaper for you to order and ship from the EU order page you can find here:
      i.materialise.com/en/shop/item/berniedawg-minicap-with-legs-for-small-stoves
      Hope this helps. You are always welcome to contact me directly at my business email address: berniedawgstove@comcast.net

    Hey Bernie, I have an Indian made rocket, No 00 stove. Similar to what you show in this video. It's to be used with kerosene, however there's no kerosene available so what other fuel would be safe to use without the stove exploding?
    Thanks in advance,
    Atb,
    The Solo Hiker....

    • @BernieDawgCinema

      No. There is no other fuel that you can safely use in a kerosene-burning stove other than kerosene. As you live in India, this is especially true, since any other options would be too volatile and/or likely produce poisonous gases and compounds when the fuel is burnt. And, stoves don't "explode", but fireballs of fuel/air vapor can ignite around the outside of a stove with the use of incorrect too-volatile fuels. Kerosene is among the safest of fuels which is why it's so easily found in countries all around the world. Including in India, where it *is* available and is even subsidized at reduced cost by the government for poor people holding a valid fuel ration card. 👍😎 BD

    It wouldn't occur to me to use such stoves indoors. (Carbon Monoxide)..

    • @BernieDawgCinema
      @BernieDawgCinema  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Beaky Twitch Correct, Beaky Twitch. *YOU* shouldn't operate one of these stoves indoors. And, I don't suggest others run them indoors, either. I, on the other hand, and as a professional, have a stove repair shop with six open windows, two open skylights and an open door with a large industrial fan blowing to disperse not only CO, but all the exhaust vapors. Very well ventilated, and very safe. (To say nothing of my CO detectors.) So, always best not to project your situation or your uninformed assumptions on others. Thanks! 😁 BD
