holy shit... after returning to physical school i was unable to function and my nerves were haywire. i'd skip classes every other day and be unable to do any work due to lack of exposure to society for around 2 years. this hits hard lmao
"Do you know what day it is? When did you last go outside? When did you last see your friends?" As someone who deals with severe isolation issues and has since before COVID even hit, this series struck me in a way that I can't actually describe.
That was one of best experimental movies I’ve seen in my life from being scared to crying my eyes and heart out because of how relatable this piece of art was for me it was like i went trough all this the only difference was that the shadow inside of me had a different weapon named drugs But when you said all of those feelings are what makes main what he is I couldn’t hold my tears back cuz I really believe in the statement what i am now is the feelings i had in my darkest days
i know this is serious but the way you said that shadow had drugs made me think of shadow running over to the complex and saying "behold my new weapon, heroin" and proceeding to fucking murder the complex
I’ve seen this channel for awhile but never thought to actually watch the videos but now that I have, it’s sad but relatable. Overall I really like this channel
I'm not that sensible to scary or creepy stuff. I might get some chills now and then, but I can avoid this by laughing at the spooky stuff I see. Well, I tried it with this one too, but it didn't work correctly... which means this is officially scary. besides that, I do understand what _ boisvert is trying to say. This is still kind of a wholsome story, especially the part with the closed captions.
Similar to what I was thinking. Even though the shadow had social anxiety and introverted they still made sure the main personality wasn’t alone during a difficult time
bru... i broke my spine snowboarding last year and i havent rlly been able to leave my bed let alone my room, this series is like idek the correct word but like i can relate so fucking much to this series it insane
I hope you are not left trying to recover and mend on your own? I know it’s not the same as being able to do things and socialize but being totally alone during something like that would be difficult…mentally and physically in your case.
I found Boisvert and Sewerslvt around the same time while stuck at home during the pandemic and both managed to get over this depressing time with their works.
Boisvert released a new video a few months after this video was made and it shows a new character that has seven spikes on his head that shift as well as an extra arm that is oversized. The video opens with him loathing in a room, and when he leaves, you see him walk down a field towards something in the sky. This thing in the sky extends down to reveal a drawer and when he sees what is in the drawer, it shows a letter that shows on the front side, a picture of someone from the neck down and the character puts a heart with his hands around the picture. On the other side it says, "kill the saint." In my eyes, the saint shows someone he loves and that loves him, but he is now given the need to cut them out (kill them.) I believe this represents friends he now feels the impulse to cut out even though they love each other. He now goes on a journey to the forest to find the saint, encountering what appears to be dogs with crosses on their faces. I believe this is the representation of Rage trying to stop this character from cutting out his happiness to be in solitude. He kills the incarnations of Rage and then is shown The Saint in the sky which is a projection from inside a house up a set of stairs. While walking up the stairs, it is revealed that this character is Shadow as his head and face change, haunted by something (five what appear to be killed souls.) He then enters the outline a cross on The Saint's chest and hug them. It says on the side of the screen, "Note: I pressed my chest against your chest," likely showing that he loves The Saint and feels importance in hugging them. Then the side note reads, "Note: he cares," which certifies what I thought. Up until now, I wasn't paying attention to the chapter names, but after he impales The Saint with his massive arm, killing them, it shows, "(0) Pas ici," which translates to "Not here" in English. It is also worth noting that Shadow has a completely human body from the neck down, showing only his head and arm to be abnormal. The scene cuts back to his arm deep in The Saint's chest while The Saint appears to be singing something which I do not understand. While she sings, he hugs them while they drop to the floor. He drops to his knees after they die indicating he didn't want to kill them, but felt the strong urge to do so. It cuts to a QR code at the end of the video and says on the side of the screen, "Note: Please," claiming you should scan the QR code. I scanned it and it took me to a video titled, "-0" (the original video is called 0.) -0 shows 0 reversed up to the point in which Shadow kills the dogs. He then proceeds to call somebody, note: there is no audio until he says on the call, "You deserve this much. I tell you so often, I tell you every single day that I can." The audio then cuts off again but I believe that he is on a call with The Saint, completely contradicting himself, as the same person he cut out he is now telling them that they deserve something. It should be noted that the man sounds annoyed on the call. He then says, "I tell you things that even then I cannot see, your face. The other person seems to say something as he doesn't say anything for a while, but his tone shifts to distressed as he replies, "I know, there isn't enough that I can do, so I will do more, and I will keep doing more. There's nothing you can do to stop me from doing more, okay?" He then waits and says, "I know, I don't know what you're thinking, and I know exactly what you're thinking. And that conflicts her so much that I don't know what to tell you, but I'm going to keep talking to you, even-" He is cut off while speaking. He sounds like he is crying while speaking during the last half of this conversation. He then says after a long pause, "And I don't know what to say next, so I'll make something up. I'll tell something I used to hear when I was a child, something my parents used to say to me. I need to tell you that I/it(?) can still be okay. You know this, but I don't know if you know that. It can still be fine, it doesn't matter, It doesn't matter, I'm still here. I'm not going to leave; I can't." After a long pause he says, "What are your thoughts so far?" He puts down the phone, defeated and sad as the call ended. He clutches the phone to his chest before setting it on the seat and breaking down crying. The video ends with him in the room that he killed The Saint, taking an alternate approach; what he would have preferred to do. He straightens her dress. I believe he struggles with some kind of personality disorder as he completely regrets what he's done to The Saint to the point that he breaks down completely. From my experiences in relationships, this is a trait of bipolar patients. They will do something terrible and irreversible and then they expect forgiveness. He did not literally kill his love/friend, but I think this is a metaphor for him doing something terrible and irreversible. This is a difficult story for me to completely empathize with, as my life was ruined by a bipolar person, but at the same time it's beautiful seeing the mental process of the character struggling with illness as you receive a new point of view. In conclusion, the Boisvert story is beautiful but difficult as it shows mental struggles some can relate to, but many cannot.
