metalhead here. Grew up on punk and hardcore. Saw the same line up as you and honestly would have KILLED to be at this fest. grew up with half of these bands.
Just wanted to add that The Misfits had Dave Lombardo of Slayer fame drumming for them this night!! One of my favorite drummers, definitely a highlight!!
I saw the poster a couple months ago on FB and my jaw dropped. I listened to many bands of these for decades but some I never had the chance to listen to them live (Black Flag, Fear, Misfits, The Exploited, etc.) I wish I could be there, but I live in Europe. Thank you for this video!
My wife and I arrived at 8 in the morning, eagerly waiting for the show to start. Once it opened, we had an incredible time. We were captivated by the entire event and went to the front to watch the Misfits. However, we were nearly crushed by the huge crowd and we had to retreat. Despite that, the rest of the concert was amazing. We didn't leave until almost 2 in the morning, completely exhausted. We ended up sleeping in the car before heading home.
I was also attending a punk fest last weekend with NOFX's 2 day farewell tour celebration in Berlin with Pennywise, Circle Jerks, Descendents, Negative Approach and others
I LOVE YOUR VIDEO! My son, Blake and I are still talking about the No Values Fest and how fun it was to this day!! As I watched your video- which was incredible, by the way- I saw the two punk rockers I was fascinated by that I saw continuously throughout the day. These fellas were reminiscent of the punks I would see hanging at South Coast Plaza, growing up in Orange County. Gorgeous colorful Mohawks and the whole shebang! I was in love then, and turns out I’m still in love now at 50 years old. Yeah, parking SUCKED and we were in parking line for over 1.5 hours. I can’t say it wasn’t worth it, though, because it totally was. Next time, if No Values returns to Pomona, our plan will be to fly into Brackett Airport across the street and gleefully walk (I have my pilot license and I will rent an airplane)✈️ Thanks for your video!! ❤
@@wyattsmetal I just thought about it.. flying in would mean no partaking of any alcohol, so I’d have to stay overnight somewhere 🤔. Wish they allowed overnight camping!
That was Nick from YYYs? I knew he looked familiar. His band is always awesome, saw him last year, Chad Smith and Duff Mckagan played for him that night.
The drummer is Urian Hackney, I don't know which one but he's the son of one of the dudes from Death the punk band from the 70s. He also plays in the armed and he's a beast
@tarotsport1451 no way! I didnt know, thats real solid, Death shoulda totally played this fest, checked them out almost 10 years ago at a free show when their documentary was coming out, good to hear the brothers musical spirit still goes on, Urian sounds like a champ.
Was totally worth going, a one of one experience! It was amazing seeing The Adicts, Damned, IGGY, The Garden and more in one day. FIDLAR was my first ever concert so it was great to see them again, full circle moment. I was crunched between everyone during the Adicts but the energy blew up when they opened with Let’s Go.
I was upfront during the misfits and you are correct about the crowd crush. A girl had a seizure, people were throwing up/jumping over the railing to get out and I saw a few people pass out completely and needing to be crowd surfed to security. Their set was awesome tho
It was so packed I couldn't even move my arms. I've never been in a crowd crush before and it was absolute insanity, I thought I'd never end. I still didn't leave though, and once it calmed down I had a great time 😂
saw bad religion and social distortion with my dad a month ago and they were killin it all the songs hit and i was a blast. im a metal head and a punk rocker so this was a very good show.
This video was great!! Made my day. You never said, but did you see "Sublime" with "Bradley's" son as the new lead singer. If so how were they? What I've seen online so far. I think they're good. Glad they did that and are able to go back to the name "Sublime" with "Jakob" taking over for his dad after all this time. Wish I was able to get to go and see all those great bands. See some again and some for the first time. 🤘
Man you are cool AF! I'm over 50 & was not aware that Metal vs Punk thing was still going on, I thought that shit died out in the late 80s. I've always loved both & it's a real shame cuz these shit-heads missed out on decades of great music & shows. Good job on breaking down those walls. That line-up was insane, though those prices were inexcusable. Cheers bud & thanx for letting us tag along.
Funny Story: On the day of the festival I wore my Misfits shirt without even knowing No Values was happening that day. BTW I live in Maritimes Canada so I wasn't going to festival.
Saw misfits on the last show, same thing with saying "this is an old one" although he did say "theyre all old songs though" good to have some self awareness lol.

I saw all these bands during the 80s and never imagined id get to see them 40+ years. The short sets kinda sucked, but there were so many you were gonna miss a few. Instead of Social Distortion, you should have been over at the Exploited and Crass instead. That was a blast. And great way to finish with the Misfits. Glad you had fun.
I was wondering how this fest was going to go, sometimes whenever I see a flyer with that many insane legendary bands I think it’s too good to be true. Thanks for documenting all the cool shit that you go to, it’s great for me since I’m stuck in Canada and also am not sure I would survive a day outside in the summer in California
Everyone but Green Day and MCR. I love them, but oh boy is this a lineup. ALSO IS THAT AQUABATS OF ALL THINGS? That was my first concert EVER and I was like, what, 6? Also awesome knowing you saw a Weird Al extra live (yes, this is a joke about Tony Hawk being in the Smells Like Nirvana video and Weird Al not knowing decades later. I guess that's normal for Hawk.)
I actually saw The Misfits live in Austin and Agnostic Front, Reverend Horton Heat, and Suicidal Tendencies all opened up for them. It was definitely one of the shows you don't forget
Fest was awesome, we had a great time! When you went into the DJ room, that was Monkey and Pete Dee from The Adicts on the DJ. During the fight, the dude that grabs a girl out of the way, is the previous bassist for The Casualties. Also thought it was dumb Danzig saying “here is another old song” 😁😁
This festival was AMAZING! However, I despise the cost of food and the cost of merch and the heat. Parking was easy as since I was there at 11 am. Not to mention the Fairplex was 10 minutes away from me.
Awesome! Wish I'd have none about it, probably wouldn't have come since I'm on the other side of the country. With so many bands I'd like to see! I'm also a heavy metal guy from way back that was into punk too. Only act I've seen was Iggy Pop (twice in Philly, once in Baltimore) and was in a crush when Iggy climbed an electrical cable to make out with this busty woman next to the group I was in; we were crushed against the chain link fence at the front of the balcony and Iggy (me), the woman's boobs (my friend) as everyone in the balcony tried to touch him. Thankfully he didn't stay long! Got to see Psychotica at that show too; never heard of them before that night but was out looking for their album shortly after. Also, I think of Tony Hawk as like in his thirties, not a year younger than me! LOL Props for the SLC Punk! clip "It's Punk Rock!" Now I'm gonna have to dust off that DVD and watch it again for the 50th time...
The smash burger spot next to the dixxon flannel stand were actually pretty good. It was a double patty. Nowhere near worth $26 but probably the best burger I've had at one of these festivals
SxTx’s guitarist Ben Weinman’s other band Dillinger Escape Plan played in the show too. I don’t listen to much punk but I’m stoked. They just got back together holy shit. The Adicts’ circus lookin ass show tho, wow. Nice.
We thankfully had zero issues for parking but we did show up around 11 and pregamed in the car till 12ish. We also made it when the adolescents started.

Freakin great video, dude 😎 I agree with you, punk is fun to mix it up now and then, of course Metal rules! But' other genres aren't necessarily bad...
With the exceptions of The Jam, Ramones, and The Clash. The Jam ain't never getting back together due to Paul Weller & Rick Buckler not speaking to each other since 1982. Weller and Bruce Foxton are on fine terms. The Ramones ain't back because all of the members have died. Well, the classic lineup. Joey and Johnny Ramone stayed the entire time, despite having different viewpoints. Dee Dee Ramone left the band to go on a hip hop career which didn't go so well and ended up dying of a heroin overdose. Tommy Ramone left the band and ended up being a producer. He passed in 2014, the last original member to pass. Marky Ramone, the best of the drummers in the band is doing well and playing his own version of The Ramones and keeping their legacy alive. The Clash can never get back together because Joe Strummer passed in 2002. But for the punk bands that are still around or came back together, I'm happy for them!
Wish it would had happened in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Why does everything have to be in California? I'm from Michigan and it's one of the greatest states to live in. Glad you had a great time. A lot of these punk bands are legendary. But you might be surprised that Bad Religion is really really good. One of the best punk bands ever. They have a ton of great songs, any ton of great albums. Overall, they're fantastic.
For my day, my dad parked at his work about a 20 min walk away which was amazing, we started by going to shattered faith and then went to the adolescents and the aquabats, after this me and my brother walked around and had food while we checked out other bands. Then went to agent orange, they were ok. Then afterwards, we walked around again and saw the end of suicidal tendencies, after my brother left the festival when i went down 30 min before bad religion and I got to the front. This was amazing and afterward I got into vip and we saw social distortion which played a hell of a setlist because they played a bunch of old songs. After of course I had to see the misfits, i went with some friends to the mosh pit and it was crazy, I'm pretty young and this was the first time I had ever moshed so seeing these 20 year olds banging each other like they were mad was very fun. And since my Dad parked 20 min away so we wern't stuck in traffic for 2 hours like some friends we have. Anyways this festival was my first ever but not my last. It was one of my favorite times ever.
Honestly the only band I'm surprised didn't make an appearance is MDC, otherwise this lineup is mostly perfect and it's a shame I live in buttfuck nowhere Europe so I couldn't go!
I think Iggy has scoliosis. Hence the crooked stance. That and he's 125 yo.
IGGY HAS ONE LEG SHORT THAN THE OTHER ALWAYS HAS
Had polio when i was child
Hung like a horse too still😆
Atleast he's not pissing on the crowd anymore.

And since my Dad parked 20 min away so we wern't stuck in traffic for 2 hours like some friends we have. Anyways this festival was my first ever but not my last. It was one of my favorite times ever.
and 16 for a fckn PBR is actual CRIMINAL lmao

Honestly the only band I'm surprised didn't make an appearance is MDC, otherwise this lineup is mostly perfect and it's a shame I live in buttfuck nowhere Europe so I couldn't go!

Wait.... when did 'The Dillinger Escape Plan' start playing again?!
This was their reunion with the original singer I believe. They were fucking sick too
They were providing the back up band for Jerry Cantrell during the album recording and following tour.
