The issue with the mao W is that he is untargetable until he reach his target, and Yone's tornado attack cover all his character model so when you go out of W you are on the wind hitbox.
Yone Q-3 is such a wide and long lingering hitbox. It's nigh impossible to avoid by going against the grain so things like target dashes just get caught by it. Real shame for other duelists and the like, let alone someone like Maokai who wants to stick as much as possible...
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and something I notice you do all the time is use abilities on regular minions, but for some reason you try to last hit the cannon with regular autos. Do the opposite my guy and you’ll quit missing them so much.
My guess is that it's because invincibility and untargetability are different things. People can't target you with spells, but because you're not invincible, colliding with a aoe hitbox like Yone's tornado or Vi Q still hits you, because they weren't targeting you with those, they just threw it in your direction. Same reason the minions would start running when you W in a wave, because for that split second they can't actually target you so they keep moving.
For all intents and purposes, in this game, untargetability IS invincibility. The only single exception to this is damage over time and tethers applied before you became untargetable; nothing else can hurt you, even globals like Karthus R or point and click abilities like Fiddlesticks Q. What was happening here is that Maokai W ends when he reaches the target, and they were using abilities that make their entire hitbox a damage zone, so when he arrives and lost untargetability, he was directly in their ability.
Yeah Maokai W works based on distance traveled think how Malphite R work you're unstoppable until you reach the destination so max range Malph R youre longer imune to cc than if you cast it on top of you, similar with Mao W if the target dashes into you while you w your dash untargetability is actually shorter since you travel less distance towards each other but if you w a Leblanc who is Dashing away from you you basically get double the amount of untargetability with Mao W hope that makes sense Mike not trying to be the brains here just giving you info ive played him quite a bit and thats how it works 😅 awesome vid and these item combo are insane tbh anyone can be q drain tank nex up is swain right? waiting for a vid on him and Darius
Don't understand the build here. Wouldn't sunfire into frozen heart be way better value and damage into an all AD comp than despair and thimble? Also no randuins into three crit heavy champions plus sundered sky?

Yeah and he dashs into a location not target so mao being untargatable doesnt stop the dash as it does to pantheon as example
