Very nice recipe, many thanks! This is my favorite mithai!
Some tips to be healthy:
1. Don't use silver foil. You can see my notes below.
2. Do not use white sugar. This is very unhealthy on many levels. Use Stevia or Monkfruit extract instead. Food should not make you sick. Fatty liver is caused by sugar and starchy rice, rotis, not by ghee!! Metabolic disease is caused by sugar. DO NOT EAT SUGAR EVER! ALL SUGAR IS BAD. Stick to Stevia and Monkfruit with 0 glycemic index.
3. Ghee is fine in moderation.
4. Cashews are fattening but good for you in moderation.
Never use silver foil called 'Varak'. Here are 3 good reasons why:
1. Nowadays, it is aluminum not silver. Traces of heavy metals like lead, copper, nickel are found which are poisonous.
2.Process of manufacturing involves using the intestine of ox-gut. These ox-gut are obtained from slaughter houses.
Their intestines are quickly removed and sold to foil manufacturers. Then, it is hammered there under unsanitary conditions.
Mild traces of blood and flesh on foil are often present. Extremely unhygienic and unhealthy!
This is also no longer a vegetarian product.
3. Although silver has anti bacterial benefits, for it to work right it has to be ground in very fine particles and consumed and then not eliminated by your bowels, but reach the area of your body that is sick - like lungs from a cold. This does not happen. So while theoretically it sounds good, it never makes it to your lungs or sick parts of your body. Silver cream called Silvadene is very good for burns and open wounds. But ingesting large particles of silver can lodge under your skin and give you a permanent and irreversible medical condition called Argyria. Your skin turns blue grey. There are some famous examples of people living today with this skin condition who drank too much colloidal silver (suspended silver powder in water) for medical purposes. It did nothing for them medically except make them very ugly. Do not eat silver/ aluminum.
Keep your body as clean as a mountain stream. Nothing bad should enter it. Guard your body and be informed. This is the only treasure you have in life.
