One thing i observed in this sawmill is its cleanliness and orderliness unlike other sawmills I’ve seen. Another is that, this couple managed to do all operations by themselves only. Not requiring other helping hands, but they are able to facilitate their work properly. And that’s simply amazing! Cooperation and organization is the key. Kudos to this couple!
This man's little wife is a warrior. She knows the process, she knows her husband's movements, and she is courageous And the husband treats her with respect, as she deserves. If all man and wife 'teams' on earth worked this well together it would be a much more beautiful world. I have so much respect for both of these people. Lots of love from Alberta, western Canada. 💗
Wow that was impressive. Fantastic work sir. A huge log and she fought to the very end, but she gave up some beautiful slabs which will become amazing furniture. Furniture which will last for many years to come.

Wjat an incredible log, i have never heard of this wood before but taking into account that those slabs were 6 to 8 inches thick, i bet they a worth a good bit.Would be interested to know how big the actual tree is as it was clear that tnis was only part of the trunk and what ever was above this would still have been a fair size, wonderful grain!!!!!

wonderfull looking grain. I do wonder why you didnt saw it horizantally though. it would have let you saw it right through and lift them off. making each piece fine sawn all the way through
Pretty wood. But the sawyer has to be one of the slowest in the world. Also, the continuous starting/stopping the carriage does not produce the smoothest cut.
he said they are almost 70 years olds ... experience sawmill operators ,they both have all 2 arms ,legs and all their fingers!!! but lift an mill seem younger then operators!!!
I do not understand why they do not cut the log completely through. After they cut 3/4 through. Slip the lifting strap down the cut. Finish the cut and remove the slab. Now the break away the end and have to make a finishing cut.
I guess it's a bigger log than usual, and there is not the equipment to handle it on the far side. So they need to back it out to where they have a crane.
I guess it is for safety. Like this the sawblade is back in its startposition. I am sure they do this job for decades and figured out the best way for them. Saving time is not always the most important thing.

That gingko the most beautiful wood I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of it! Like watching y'all work together

This is the biggest and most beautiful wood I've seen you cut normally I think Ginko is plain looking but being a Burl the grain pattern is intense.
You and your wife are amazing. Clean and efficient. Cheers from Melbourne Australia.

What beautiful wood. It tells many stories. I saw Japanese landscapes, Mount Fuji and all the ghosts from the Studio Ghibli. 👻
With all that figuring and all those knots, that is going to be some very hard wood and difficult to plane and work.
That tree nearly went extinct, it’s a living fossil, where did they find such massive old growth?

33/2.54 = 13". Sure looks bigger. Perhaps I don't know what the "core" is. I would have thought it was about a 60" log. Beautiful wood and well done.

Outstanding work.
A corporate conference table in the offing! At 1:01:03, I see a Wooley Mamouth sonding the alarm. It looks like one of the cave drawings in France!
WOW. BIG TREE.
Luar biasa proyek besar ,kayu super super semua
Heavy heavy log......gotta be really careful.
Another overhead crane and strap on the outfeed side would make the slab handling much faster and safer.
33 cm is NOT right, that is 12.99 inches, that log looks to be about 100 cm... which is around 39 inches...
Beautiful wood . Wish I had some .
