In this video I talk about my experience using Clip Studio Paint (the IPad version, specifically!) and I hope you can find it helpful when thinking of trying out a new drawing software! I made this video a couple weeks ago and have been using basically only Clip Studio recently, as I've been experimenting more with painting, and for some reason I find painting in Clip Studio more comfortable than in other apps I've tried... I think it's because their brushes feel more natural to me? Anywho! I hope you liked this video! This is a nice side of the art community, I really like your intro. It's so calming!
I like pairing clip studio on the iPad with a small wireless keyboard for shortcuts. It really speeds things up and makes it less frustrating. You don't have to stop painting when you switch brushes/erasers/blenders.

@@kdolli i have seen someone pair it with a wireless number pad. Less buttons but takes up far less desk space.
the blenders are cool and i love how you can adjust the hardness/softness

Hi! I hope you don't mind me asking. Does CS need a keyboard to be used?
@@princessmae3457 I would say yes, there are a lot of keyboard shortcuts you'd need to utilize, but you could probably work around that with an on-screen keyboard.
I don’t know if you’ll see this, but you don’t NEED a keyboard, except for things like typing in the title of your piece, you just won’t be able to utilize the shortcuts (I personally never use the keyboard)
I dont use the keyboard really, just the pen buttons.
When you talked about your disconnect with display tablets from using the ipad, that's literally what I am going through right now. I just bought my first display tablet and it has been such an awkward experience. I am not used to the parallax, physical shortcuts, etc but I am forcing myself to power through. Thank you for making this video. I haven't seen a ton of artists talk about clip studio paint and I am currently exploring the desktop version. It is very intimidating but the more you go through trial and error, the more you start to get a better idea about how the program works. I still miss Procreate and its simple interface but I want to expand my art program experiences and see how my art can improve in the process :)
Omg yes! Exactly! I haven't heard anyone else thalk about this either, I thought I was just too picky or something, I'm glad you understand me :,) One day I'll get a display tablet that doesn't have as much parallax and that will help a lot, I imagine :,) But the touchscreen shortcuts though... I depend on them a lot
To be honest, I felt the exact opposite switching from Clip Studio on a display tablet to Procreate on the iPad - I thought it was oversimplified and missed all the options that CSP provided.
I’ve been getting used to Procreate lately so I can draw digitally when I travel, but still find it hard to create finished pieces I can be proud of without using CSP.
Hopefully we can both work on adapting to our new programs/tablets and improve our art

The hoarse oil brush is so good and I love this painting you made! It’s so pretty. Shame clip studio for the iPad is subscription tho.

I’ve had clip studio for years and I love it. I’m really happy to see that I can use it on an iPad when I hopefully get one
You have to pay a monthly subscription to use cilp studio on ipad unfortunately... I ended up buying Procreate as a one-time purchase instead.
@@rambo3rd471 yes true but i also saw they have a deal like for one year its 25 euro its better than paying 5 euro every months

CSP also has a quick access tool bar where you can use that as shortcuts with fav brushes and tools you use often. I have to have it on while using the ipad and its helpful

I was EXACTLY the same with photoshop lol I’m really..... slow at getting to use programs and CSP was pretty easy to get down I love it and the materials available to you.

I love your honesty in this! It also matches my experience with Clipstudio and Procreate a lot.
Clipstudio not really using the iPad features and feeling like the desktop version just more difficult to handle on a touch device really put me off in the end. I'm glad you adressed this problem somewhat in your video. The program is so nice but it's just kind of impractical in iOs. I hope they fix that someday.
