Instagram - AdamTheWooATW I had to get back and attend the anniversary of the place that used to be my favorite place ever . Such fond memories of the original mgm studios . I know not every day can be a throwback or have nods to the original place but I was hoping on a big anniversary it would have had more to feature the original concept . This was still a fun day but could have been much better.
I also have a lot of fond memories at MGM Studios from year 1 and current memories with my son at Hollywood Studios. That park will always have a special place.
I remember the opening year - one of my favorite pictures of my mother is standing next to one of the antique cars. She had a pair of Jean long shorts- a white t shirt with the sleeves rolled- she looked so cool and MGM was so cool. What a place - the back stage- the muppets- the great movie ride- the main street actors - we loved it.
Ah yes… Disney-MGM Studios! I was working there in 1989 before Sunset Blvd., before ToT, before Star Tours, and when Superstar Television and The Monster Sound Show and the Backlot Tour were the big attractions! Yep, I was cooking hot dogs on a wagon and baking pizza in the Soundstage Restaurant. Wow, those were the days… Good times…
80s Greg keepin' it both real and real old school! Can I ask, @GregsGameRoom - was 'hospitality' the industry you wanted to work in back in the late 80s, or was it just a job, a means to an end? I wonder, had you decided to stay in the bubble, if there would have been opportunity to advance, or try different/lateral positions where you could've grown with them, like those employees recognized at the Muppet honorarium? Sorry to hijack your vlog, Mr. The Woo! ❤✌🌮
Eisner...even at his worst...is FAR better than the pos Iger. Eisner at least in the end, wasn't looking to destroy the entire company and Walt's legacy.
By far the worst park at WDW. We go to WDW about once every 5 years and just had our trip last month. DHS was the one park we all agreed we should skip.
Actually, they are. This Summer, Animal Kingdom is doing a lot for the 25th anniversary of THE LION KING. I drive buses at WDW, this event was hardly discussed, I didn't hear about it until another driver mentioned it. It wasn't on our internal news website, there wasn't press about it, and it looked like the show was just "meh".
My high school marching band had a day trip into this park in early june 1989, so it was only a month old when we went! we had gone to march down main street in Magic Kingdom, and stayed in area for couple days, then went over to Daytona, came From New Jersey! And I do remember seeing some indy show when we were there in June. Mostly was the police on the streets that started to do little scenes with the crowds, having people stop and turn around and such. funny.
It was so cool getting to meet you! My family and I watch you all the time. My wife pointed you out and our whole family was extremely excited! Thanks again!
I could skip Hollywood Studios at this point, save money, and enjoy the other 3 parks. Star Wars took over half of HS. 👎 If you're not a fan, it's even less exciting now. The only good rides left are Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash. I haven't been on the fairly new Mickey and Minnie ride, but watched it on TH-cam. That was enough. The Great Movie Ride was the BEST. I loved the Aerosmith Rock N Roller Coaster, but that's closed too. I don't know if they're updating it, or making a completely different ride. It was a GREAT park when it was MGM. I'm grateful to have experienced it several times back then. It's sad that today's kids will never experience it.
Thanks Adam for your dedication to Walt Disney World and being there for the 35th Walt Disney MGM Studios Anniversary. It's so cool you are friends with for many those who love Disney World and do Video Blogs too. I thought it was nice touch you paying homage to Tom from WDNT Disney fame who's been doing detailed Disney News for many years and keeps fans up to date on all the Disney Parks and even Universal too. Today is May the 4th Be With you Day and so many love too. Thanks again Adam also enjoyed your trip west and the Warner Brothers tour and Field of Dreams with you Mom was awesome too. Mark From Indiana...where Spring has green things up Big Time!
Hey there Adam fantastic video, tour and more of the 35th anniversary of Disney-MGM/Hollywood Studios-FL.Great content and the very best time..Enjoy on..
Personally, I would have taken a few days in DC. So you were getting finicky and stressed out about not being at a Disney park for an anniversary? The way you were talking in yesterday's video, you made it sound like it was very urgent that you got home.
35 is not a anniversary. 25 or 50 is more of a anniversary for a celebration. Not counting getting married which is every year. But since the 35 was boring maybe the 36 will be better. Fingers crossed…
Is it boring? I didn’t hear you said it in the video. It looks more like a company party and the guest is just an outsider looking in. I didn’t even know the honored people in the opening ceremony. The Muppets is mishandled in the park. Overall, totally disjointed event. No real acknowledgement about what the park is. Funny there’s no events into the evening like fireworks.
Thank you for the video Adam! My son is a Cast Member at Hollywood. He was working at Muppet’s 3D yesterday, he said the A/C was out. He sent me pictures of the gifts he got for the 35th Anniversay. He also got the Mickey Sorcerer pin.
Awe....you missed the 35th Anniversary pressed pennies for your collection...saw them on another vlog, and I thought, Adam will jump on those for his collection book!
@@TheDailyWoo The machine he found was kind of hidden... he said if he hadn't been walking by, he would have missed them (Retro Rest Stop) ... kind of like the ones you found that time that were behind something.
Gotta say I've been to both versions of Hollywood Studios. I was there in the 90's when they were animating the Lion King, i was there in 2015 before the Great Movie Ride left, and I've just been in 2023 with all the new additions ie. Star Wars, Toy Story, and Mickey Runaway Railway
Hollywood Tower hotel works just fine for me as a park icon, the Chinese theater could also work but I prefer the tower, the sorcerer hat/pin shop was not and should never have been considered the park icon.I love the old Hollywood theme of Hollywood /MGM Studios but the park is just not the same as it used to be,Galaxys Edge and Toy Story land are worthwhile lands but they just don't fit into the original theme,I would love to see the park expand as it's too small and instead of just putting random IPs add on to it with more Old Hollywood/studio theme and a new version of the Great Movie Ride.
Yep, Tim is correct, Indy was an "opening" day attraction. The guy with the white beard in the white shirt standing at the middle of the stage is Kevin Brassard, one of our original (and my favorite) Indys!!
It was my first park, and it will slways be my favorite park, then, now, and forever!!! Two of those Cast Members honored are good friends of mine and that theater is my home!!
Don G. In the white hat has been with Disney for 40 years, and MGM/Studios since day one! Don is in our area in theatre district! He is a legend, and we are very proud of him!!!! Woohooo! Go Don!!!!
I remember the hay day in the mid 90’s, despite being a young child, I will always cherish the true personality of the park. It’s still fun now! But man…
I always think about Michael Eisner when I stay at Saratoga springs. I had stayed one time at the Disney institute-it was a good stay. I was all in with Michael Eisner.
Thankyou for another awesome vlog Adam. Hollywood studios used to be my favorite disney park as well. As one comment mentioned, it hasn’t been the same ever since they took away great movie ride and i was 14 when i rode it for the last day of operation. I grew up with mgm studios, the osborne lights, lights motor action, backlot tour, honey i shrunk the kids, and of course the great movie ride. Now that im older i appreciate the older movies that were featured in that ride, with some being my all time favorites as of now, and it makes me miss the ride even more. I mainly go to this park with my nostalgia lens on and just reminisce on what used to be. It’s a shame that now the park is just mainly Star Wars/mickey mouse/toy story in my eyes now, but the memories i had back then still resonate with me everytime i go here. I’m rambling but god i miss the old Hollywood studios. Awesome vlog as always Adam
Adam, I am so sorry but I won’t be able to go to the Rays Pirates game at PNC park in June. Late last night my surgeon wants to do surgery & keep me for 2 weeks. It’s on June 23rd. I work on June 21-22nd. Then I’m moving back home. That’s Staten Island NY. As you know i am a Rays fan.

Every celebration on the east coast has been lackluster the past few years
Totally agree. Feels like a different company these days almost.

Long live MGM studios! Oh man do I miss the old backlot and even the osborne christmas lights on streets of america.
I never noticed how much the Tim Tracker sounds like and has a cadence like Kermit The Frog.
Which muppet would Adam be?
Ah yes… Disney-MGM Studios! I was working there in 1989 before Sunset Blvd., before ToT, before Star Tours, and when Superstar Television and The Monster Sound Show and the Backlot Tour were the big attractions! The good old days of that park

35 years later and it will always be MGM Studios to me ❤
I used to think that way but that old place is dead
@@TheDailyWoo I still have my old MGM hat
@@TheDailyWooYeah, the back lot, catastrophe canyon and streets of America made it unique back then
Adam where do you get the itinerary for these special events? I had no idea about this or even dapper days 😕
Eisner...even at his worst...is FAR better than the pos Iger. Eisner at least in the end, wasn't looking to destroy the entire company and Walt's legacy.
Wow, the park was soooo empty!!
If it's boring you should have stayed in DC
Indiana Jones real name was Henry Jones Jr, "We named the dog Indiana"!
Loved MGm studios when it was called that 😊 memories
They added some cool rides but sucked the soul out of Studios. The removal of The Great Movie Ride was a huge mistake.
I thought they might have put more effort into the day with it being a big anniversary I mean if you build it they will come
You should watch, "What's Under the ground? The Magic Kingdom Utilidors. Confessions of a Theme Park worker"....maybe get a tour.
🇺🇸🐱🤠🐂🐎
Out of all the Disney TH-cam vloggers out there I wasn't expecting you to call that ceremony boring 😅 everyone else seems to enjoy it.
IDK why Disney had to ruin Hollywood Studios😢MGM fell...when they Closed the Great !movie ride and Took down the Sorcerer's hat☹
Tim tracker is a puppet actor now!?!?!
😍 .. Love the shirt! .. Cheers! Good day! .. ☕️🌻
Of course Tim was there! He was the voice of Kermit! 😂😂🐸
I was there when it was a half day experience and things were closed so they gave us tickets to come back to visit again.
I would take old MGM studios over new Hollywood studios any day
If Studios is you old favorite Disney Park. What is your new favorite Disney park? And I'd love to know your ranking of 6 US based parks in order!
Great vlog , I remember it as well as mgm studios we went in 1990 and loved the back lot tour it was great .
Just 🛑 save yourself from all this shenanigan’s
By far the worst park at WDW. We go to WDW about once every 5 years and just had our trip last month. DHS was the one park we all agreed we should skip.
THIS IS JEANNE DIENER STARK DAY AND DOING THE WAVE DAY. WOOHOO
Disney is not putting any effort in anything anymore in any festivals or anniversaries I don't know what happened they must have run out of ideas etc.
It would have been nice to have a couple nods to the past around the park and a couple throwback character meet and greats . Something
Actually, they are. This Summer, Animal Kingdom is doing a lot for the 25th anniversary of THE LION KING. The amount of man-children at these places are frightening. 😖

Disney destroyed the Hollywood studios magic.
Honestly Disney sucks! Universal is blowing them out the water completely! On both coasts too
They seem to put more effort into things that’s for sure
Why do you use such a negative title for this when you clearly enjoyed yourself and you stated you had a good time?
I had a good time because I was with fun people and I love the memories . What was presented was lackluster and boring
My favourite park. But they need to bring back the citizens of Hollywood.
Agreed!! Citizens was such a huge part of my love for MGM!!
Tell guest relations you want them back!
RIP to the Great Movie Ride. Park has never been the same since they got rid of that iconic ride.
Yes that and the streets of America tear down were the death of the original place
Yeah, that was a bad decision to get rid of the GMR.
Well said. Replacing the GMR was just a bad decision.
Yes! M&M Runaway Train is a one and done for sure. I miss GMR.
@@PSB-900And even then Mickey and Minnie’s is far better suit at Disneyland in Toon Town
