I ask because I've played this tune along with countless TH-cam videos (both live and studio) and I promise you it does NOT start in G. The ONLY video in which I've seen them play it that way is from the 2009 Glastonbury Festival where, during a medley, they transitioned from Mean Girl, which IS in G, up to A for Softer Ride.
I played drums in a band nearly 50 years ago and love playing this one. Now I muck around on 6 string. Thanks for sharing this 🙏
