Not sure why its a problem(non plumber here) as because the whole point is to just have a back up for the malfunctioning pump that's no longer working. 2. what are those metal rods that so nicely hole things in place specifically called so I can order thanks. Again non plumber and not a super handy guy but a home owner and having to learn this stuff...paying someone cost my first child now a days lol thanks.
Rpz valve, is a type of back flow preventer but that drips water when it malfunction, so it's way more expensive than a normal backflow preventer. The purpose is so that the contaminated water if the sump pump does not flow back into the house water line.

Trying to find out the code requirements for the DC backflow preventer. In albany ny. Cannot find the requirement of whether I need what you installed (007m3qt or other nys approved versions) or the significantly more expensive rpz versions.

Do we need to install the double check wall assembly you added for this sump jet to work?
The problem is that you are connecting your drinking water system up to a dirty old sump pump. You need to be very careful.

Yeah, I bought one of those Sump Jets and a Zurn 720A but I'm not confident enough to install it, so it is still sitting in the box.

@@scow01 Here in Illinois we have to install a Double Check valve with an atmospheric vent. 👍
