- Today was The Sims 4 Discover University Deep Dive Livestream. I've summarized everything they went over to give you as many facts about the new Expansion Pack as possible. Hope this is helpful to some of you in deciding if Discover University is a pack you'll want. Servos, the robotics skill, classes, scholarships, dorms and roommates are all covered in this developer livestream summary.

Robots are back and just like sims 3 into the future, and i am happy, now only if we can have other things from into the future pack, and a robot shop to sell evil robots sounds fun tooo!

Carl's Sim Guides this 20 minute video was a lot more informative, made me more excited for the pick and less boring than the 2 hour livestream we had to endure and the intense focus on Servo.

@@babajayne yeah it's not typical. The dorms really bug me why can't they be edited? Also they have no kitchen at all? at my school there was at least a basic kitchen because things close.

@ルイRui I mean there was new info, but it suuuper disorganized. They went in with like, the crumb of a plan and winged it. So info is all over the place between stuff we already know and awkward silences and chatter

The livestream was hard to watch. The woman who was in control of the computer was so uninterested and disconnect from the group.The women on the left tried so hard to answer all the questions and give us all the information. And the woman in the middle was just so nice and Sweet, she tried her best to keep things fun and I really enjoyed those two. Just sad the other one ruined the stream.

Yeah - i also got the impression she had no idea how to play the game. I wanted to take over the livestream and show her where things were! The other women could barely get a word in but when they did they were more engaging and interesting.
I agree they always act disconnected and uninterested. I feel like the reason the game sucks so much is bcuz the people working on the game are just so bored and over it. It feels like the people who are working on the games aren’t exited about it anymore and honestly I feel like they should all be fired and they should hire cc creators and modders they have way better creations bcuz they love the game.

Okay, the beef with rabbit holes, is that I'm so desperate for more gameplay and replayability. Rabbit holes might be nice for efficiency so you can skip thru class quickly, but I'm tired of reading pop-ups that explain what my sims did. I wish I could SEE it. It's a life simulation not a text adventure. Even if it's watching my sim fall asleep in class bc they're tired, or raise their hand a lot bc they're focused, that would have been cool. Even if it was a thing where I could choose to go with them or not each time. Sims 4 lacks a lot of unique animations, interactions, and animated outcomes that made the sims really unique and fun to watch! Like Sims 1 makin' magic had so much stuff going on in the magical world that you could interact with, that it makes Sims 4's magic world look real sad. 4 versions and Sims 4 has some of the worst replayability of them all.
Edit: also just to clarify, I don't mind rabbit holes. If they're used well or it makes sense. Sims 2 was rabbit hole and loading screen city, but it also had a lot of content and difficulty despite them, so I didn't mind.

Mhmm, Sims 4 seems to be a lazier Sims 2.
@@LWolf12 It does. Idk if it's a budget thing, or if the team is just uninspired. Modders show more work in what they do and update that work (FOR FREE most of the time) with each pack. If you buy an expansion, it should come with more than 2 hours of gameplay. For $500+ worth of expansions and stuff packs, it should have more than a week of playing it again and getting bored. Skyrim is $60 and is easily 100+ hours of gameplay. Mods can make that game playable for years(and for some already has). Yes they're different types of games but the point is that the Sims 4 should have waaay more substance behind it but there's obviously something wrong.
@@MizzMizea I can't imagine it would be budget constraints, EA is not a poor company. I think it's a mix of lack of inspiration, motivation and general EA greed.
There is a guy, not sure who he is. Has a channel called "The Ponies" just on his own, free, rebuilding The Sims, the first one, with a MLP twist for fun. Doing a pretty decent job at it to.
However, your right, a game like Sims should be playable for years, with a lot of replay ability. Even if your just playing one generational family.
Lol, I really hate rabbit holes too. It's like the developers get real intricate and detailed with certain things like the robots but then, get lazy with other stuff. It's too bad they couldn't offer the option of your Sim actually going to a work place (or attending at least a few classes) like in Get Famous and Get to Work. Especially, since that's the main thing you are going to university for in the first place.
Remember how you could woo-hoo your professors to get your grades up in the Sims 2? I miss the not so vanilla days 😢

I'm a bit disappointed that you can see into other students bedrooms at any times. I really liked it in previous Sims games when you couldn't see what was going on. I wish they had done something like the apartment neighbours in City Living, with the annoying music and sounds coming from different rooms.

I think that the reason why the packs always lack gameplay is that they have a deadline, and they focus more on the first stuff u mentioned so they don’t get enough time to finish it. I mean, this pack is good, but we expected much more
Kids can't right bikes...? Child sims get shafted, again. Just seems to be par for the course of late. But seriously, kids can't ride bikes? That's like the things kids do.
Maybe they were to lazy to make smaller bikes for them. 🤷🏻♀️
@@nannynanan Maybe, but you can resize stuff in game. With, SHIFT and [ or ] to make them bigger or smaller. I remember on LGR he made a super sized chicken statue.

@@MegaSparksss True, and I don't have any experience in game developing, or animation so I don't know if it would be hard to scale the animation for smaller sims to make it work for child sims.
However, one would think, while making the animations for the bikes, they would of made them for both. I'm not expecting them to make like, trikes for toddlers or anything, as cool as that would be. Because Toddlers are in serious need of some love as well.
@@MegaSparksss right. Kids cant use bikes after all. Its just another half baked add on. Its so sad. Ive been playing sims since day one. Ive played sims 1 and 2 for hours and hours. now i am bored after half an hour of gameplay because i discover everything in the shortest time. I mean, they did this packs (i mean im general, like pets, or island living) before and they just didnt include (or put in just a few) new features. Why? If they ran out of ideas just ask the community. I just dont understand it.😑

What I hate is that you can't attend classes with your sim. It's not like university consists of classes, am I right?
Going to classes with your Sim has so much potential. You can make new friends with a seat neighbour, do homework in the meantime, scribble on your notes or look at your phone when your Sim is bored/stressed. Paying attention to your class or asking the professor a question about the topic could give you a moodlet boost, that can help you enhance an ability right after class. With the notes written, you could study them, and do better at exams. The notes could even have a quality, the better, the easier you learn a topic in a shorter time.
I've never been into Sims university, just for this aspect. Walking around campus is fine, but when you have a lazy sim go to a lecture, I'm expecting him to zone out, surf the web, fall asleep, etc. instead of paying attention to class. Negative moodlets informing you that your Sim didn't quite understood the class today, or a self-confident moodlet when they took superb notes and understood the subject.
I could go on and on, but i don't think Sims 4 University will be as immersive as i hoped.
Totally agree, I wish this game was more immersive and stuff, I hate the lack of good content and the replayability, I was really looking forward to realm of magic, but the magics are so boring and most of them are just to clean your house or put things on fire or distinguish them plus I would love that I would attend the Sims classes, I would love to make friends there too.

That would go so repeative, and they’d have to sacrifice so much in the pack already, we’d only have like 3 degrees if it went that way. I’m not mad, the ts3 only had one lecture you could attend every once and a while they’re classes were rabbit holes, that would just take so much of the packs existence and people would complain about everything else, they have limited time and effort to do so many things and not all of it can happen
As a former university student, I can say that classes tend to be boring and repetitive even in real life - they'd be even more repetitive in the game. I can see why people want them for having more realism in the game, but at the same time, if I had to choose between 'active classes and little else' or 'rabbit hole classes and a lot of additional stuff,' I'd go with the latter. There's always limits to what they're allowed to put into a pack, so they had to make a choice. So, unless they'd aimed for a 'My University Stuff Pack' next year, it's a better choice to go for the out-of-classes part of university life.
I'm fine with the rabbit hole classes to, because in most classes you sit and take notes and listen to lectures. That's boring irl why would I want to waste time with my sims. I'd probably end up fast forwarding until the end anyway.
Not much to expect to be honest, I mean it's cool and stuff but I feel like the lack of progression in the game feels like this is just extra. They need to rework a lot of core mechanics and how careers and benefits from those careers work. Also uni looks hella cheap, I was expecting like 20k, you know, something that most people don't have laying around, not a simple 800 dollars. Oh well, looks better than island living in content, well just have to wait and see I guess. Good vid as always 👍
800 is just for one semester (1 week I believe) though, and a level-3 part-time job makes 250 (barista) -1050 (diver) a week.

@@aturchomicz821 indeed, very cheap. I'd understand if you're playing fresh, but I feel like 80% of us have a family on the ready for this. Like most of my family's have over 100k
Not every country has super expensive universities that no one can pay for? I think here two semesters cost around 1k
Sadly I don't think they're bother with rehauling gameplay with Sims 5 not too far away. I do think it's too cheap. I'm sure there will be a mod for it in no time. Even for a family with like 20k it's not that bad. Say, 3 classes, 4 terms to reach graduation. At 800 a term that's like, 3.2k. Easy peasy even with whatever interest is there. I wish my college debt was that low 😂😂
They should make the degrees as requirements to achieve higher career levels. Adds realism and challenge to the game. Like should they study first or study later. Or you buy a fake degree but authorities can spot you if your performance gets low.
In that case, adding correspondence courses you can take while you work would have been a great addition - a lot of people, including me, go for a degree that way while they work to put bread on the table.
I don't know, a lot of the highest raking people irl are demonstrably under qualified. 😂

I really don't understand why it isn't a requirement. Like, the whole point of a university pack is to put your sims through school to get access to higher career levels or careers. If a player didn't want this, they wouldn't get university. smh
A degree does not make a person more knowledgeable. It’s just an achievement.

The livestream made me feel so disconnected after a while. Like at first I was actually happy as hell to see this, then it got boring. I basically just skipped around and muted out every single word they were saying, especially the girl to the far right controlling the computer. I'm surprised of how boring this livestream was for probably the most anticipated pack to ever come to this game. They were obviously not prepared and the stream was all over the place, I zoned out multiple times. I wouldn't say every single one of them were boring, but like I said, the lady to the right. Having a lot of second thoughts to be honest. I thought people were gonna be happy but I can definitely see why they wouldn't be.
And honestly the gameplay ACTUALLY looks good, but I don't know, i'm still having mixed thoughts. I feel like there was so much more to see but they just kept skipping over so many things and stuck on the same stuff the whole livestream.
I express this at one point in the video, it's really hard to get across exactly what this gameplay will be like. I don't mind rabbit holes if the time management and progression is fun.... but they got kind of stuck showing side activities and the world, and it's a difficult position to be in.

To be honest the sim guru on the left was answering a lot of questions at some point I just think because the stream was all over the place you kind of pass over it because I was trying to pay attention to the questions she was answering but I couldn’t get over looking at what the guru controlling the game was doing

Mods I expect to see right away:
-children riding bikes
-semester length increase to 2 weeks
-University cost increase
-all interactions available with professors
-uni and Get to Work careers (at least doctor and scientist) require a degree
Mods I would like to see:
-make the only degrees offered by each school the "distinguished" degrees
-special military career scholarship (if it doesn't already exist)
This is my big beef and fear for the pack: both Sims 2 and Sims 3 University had methods of improving upon the depth of your Sim in a positive way, but will Sims 4....? Sims 2 gave you additional wish slots, additional wish locks and might have removed a fear slot too, can't remember. Sims 3 on the other hand allowed your Sim to gain up to two additional personality traits, increasing the cap from 5 personality traits to 7.
Thusfar, they've shown zero benefit for graduating. I didn't watch myself but someone said they briefly mentioned your Sims get "a little extra" boost to their career. They didn't name any other bonuses for graduating.
This would be so unbearably terrible if this is the first University pack in the history of the Sims to add zero gameplay or additional depth to your Sim as a reward for graduation. All of these money-based features are completely, totally moot because money LITERALLY grows on trees in this game. An 8% increase in bills won't be noticeable, it's impossible to fail most of the scholarships so they're just free money, and I did see that Servo sells for 6,500, which depending on how long he takes to make, could be a big money earner.
It is baffling how uncreative the Sims team has become. This pack has a history that they could use as a blueprint and blatantly copy-paste ideas from, but they don't. They're soooooo focused on simulating real life that they forget to ask "but is it fun" or even "but will these student loans FEEL like real student loans given the Sims economy is much more forgiving?" It's like they simply copy-paste what they'd expect to see in real life and then make no effort to flesh things out, add final touches, make them fun, add gameplay aspects to them or make adjustments when needed to provide a proper simulation. It's actually incredible that none of this seems to occur to the team.
For me, it's really as simple as that: I consider the graduation rewards to be a "canary in the coalmine," and if the sole reward is money, I absolutely expect this entire pack to be one giant dud. After all, if they don't bother fleshing out gameplay in an instance where it is a historic pattern in the Sims franchise to do so, why should we expect gameplay anywhere else...?
Yeah, I got my hopes up with this one. It's the most anticipated pack, outside of pets or seasons maybe, and yet they're failing so poorly and the game isn't even out yet. I hope that game changers come in clutch with new info... bc this is really disappointing with all the rehashed content from other packs and rabbit hole classes which means they're bringing very little to the table that's new so far

@@solofargeklat4992 yeah, I literally mentioned that in my edited part of the comment. It's not rabbit holes themselves that are the issue. It's that the Sims team are overly using rabbit holes as crutches for gameplay they have to heavily program or animate. Which hurts the overall gameplay and makes it flat.
I think a lot of what making from these packs is just that the Sims 4 doesn't have much to be expanded on. Not without rewrite core codes, and I don't think EA wants them to spend that much time on it. Honestly its hard to work with the Sims 4. There's really only so much you can do.
Do children and toddlers matter in the sims 4? They are always excluding them in every pack.
They literally get the perfect opportunity to do something for them and they completely ditch them. I'm not sure if kids can do soccer but I believe they said kids can't ride bikes either. :/ So theres that sadly. I actually like Toddlers and I don't expect a whole lot of things for them because they're very interactive and it already takes up half of the life stage just to max their skills, also being so young. But children barely have anything to do at all, they're such a dull life stage and probably the most underwhelming one. I remember how fun children used to be in Sims 2 and 3.
The livestream is so damned long.. I got "kids can't ride bikes" into my notes and think it's buried in there somewhere but I didn't get to re-confirm it. I have 0 idea where in the 2 hours it was said.
You're supposed to freeze time and stay permanently stuck as a single young adult. The only reason to have babies, toddlers, kids, and teens is so they can also become perpetual young adults. I thought everyone knew that. 🙃
@@XxCatcocanutxX Seems that children and toddlers require creating separate animations for each interaction in addition to the Adult/Teen/Elder/YA sims (which have similar body proportions). It appears that most of the time indeed they choose no to go the extra mile and create those animations and options for kids and toddlers. It's a shame, cause it makes kids and toddlers boring to play after you finish completing their skills. But that has been their business choice so far.

I’m really excited as a whole and can’t wait but also a little sad there’s no fraternity/sorority I know there’s the secret society but I was hoping we’d be able to rush our own sims and have fun with that but overall super excited and very glad you posted this video! Thank you
If you've got Get together you could maybe try creating a club that acts like a fraternity/sorority
Using clubs and being able to customize who lives in dorms...you can pretty much create your own sororities and frats.
they prob didnt add because of the clubs, but then not everyone has all the packs.
You can do that with clubs, and if edited the dorms you can choose who kives in the dorms (female only or male only)!
Same. They could have programmed something for it. Or even just generic Greek housing to keep it gen neutral.
I hope the mod community make this whole pack better.
I mean School and Roomate mods are already better than most of this.

see this is what's wrong with sims 4, the players rely on moders to make the game good. i play sims 3 and there might not be that many moders but that's okay beacuse the game is already good, it doesn't need mods.
I don't understand the Sims team sometimes. How can they not let kids ride bikes?!? Just because it's more resources to make an animation doesn't mean you shouldn't do it 😩
Also this is random but it terrifies me that all the pre-made female Sims have the tiniest waists. 💀
i dont think the animation requires much tbh cc creators make animations all the time with free programs. i think it's more to do with the fact that if they have to make anything for children (or toddlers) it must come in a different pack so they can make more money.
Yeah, I've always wondered who makes the female sims. Like I know they focus on sort of cartoony bodytypes but almost all the younger female premades have TINYYY waists - it's not 'goofy', it's just weird...
I expect the kid riding interaction to come later in an update. I don't think they're opposed to letting kids ride a bike, I just think they didn't consider it a priority to put resources in right now (resource on kid bike = less resource for other stuff) . Maybe they plan for something more engaging with kid's bikes, like making it an actual skill you can teach.
For a game that makes so much they sure don't want to put enough in to give customers any value.
As I already predicted, it lacks gameplay. It's more a Discover Rabbit Holes instead of Discover University.
Really disappointed. Also, why are there not a kitchen or bunk bed? Those things are common in dorms. I really think they missed the whole point of university in this pack. Why make a pack about going to school if you're not even able to go to a class? Even mod makers made that possible, why can't the devs do the same?
I will probably wait till it's on sale.

Kate T exactly. ONE modder can do something that a whole team of people can’t do. They focused more on robots than going to school.
Kate T I think it’s because the school system is based off of the American system. Like most forms don’t have a kitchen nor bunk beds, just a bed that you can change height of.
Does anyone else feel the best version of Sims was Sims 2? I know I really enjoyed the Sims 2 University, especially using influence to make others write papers and go to class for my Sims. 😆
The Sims 2 is close to my heart, but I think Sims 3 university was better.
I’m really bracing myself for disappointment with this pack. We haven’t seen everything but it looks like it’s lacking gameplay (once again). Also kids can’t ride bikes?!?!! Hopefully modders will fix it.
Also why on earth would they design the bathroom like that? I wish they’d get game changers to help design their builds

Jerome Alday it’s not even specifically about the bikes it’s like they always neglect to add stuff for toddlers and children not to mention babies are still objects. I know it’s a University pack but even just some clothing items would have been nice

@@CarlsSimGuides It's a pretty sad commentary on TS4 that making a summary video of the livestream of such an anticipated expansion was so painful to produce. It should have been exciting and fun. I'm really hoping there's more to it that they just weren't good at presenting or ran out of time to go over. I'm going to be super sad if this pack is as empty as the rest of the game but should probably prepare myself for the worst. I loved TS3 University so much. It was so immersive. TS2 had a great University expansion, too. I really hope they didn't flub this.

The impression I had watching the livestream is that robotics is actually a pretty big part of this pack, a lot of gameplay, features, skills and even career are linked to it. I thought it would be more of a side activity. Waiting to see further reviews but I hope it is more balanced with other features, because I do not care that much about those.

No no. Their title is right cos we wont 'Get to' play it but only 'Discover' it. Their marketing is good and honest.
How did EA manage to completely butcher my favorite expansion pack from The sims 2 & 3 and make this crap? It’s all recycled content. The dorms are just city living apartments that you can’t even customize without cheats, the study groups are just clubs from get together, and why should we have to go through a loading screen to get basic food for our sims? How hard is it to build a kitchen in the dorm? Watch them try to make a Dorm stuff pack and add the things that should’ve been a given in the expansion pack. They act like it’s impossible to code these things yet they’ve done it multiple times in the past. They removed all the content that made this pack fun. I’m so frustrated with EA.

I 100% agree with you but it seems that the fans enjoy their crap, that's why they continue to be lazy. It's not hard work to code if that's literally your job because look at mod makers. They made it possible to go to school even before this came out. What is the point of this pack if you can't even go to class or graduate without it being a rabbit hole? Im really angry about this.
i can see them making a SP for this. instead of going all out with content with this pack, they'll probably make a buck with "extra content" with SP

This just made me want to play Sims 3's University now. I am quite glad that I didn't expect much from this expansion pack but let's see how it really feels when it comes out.

That Livestream was entirely too long winded. Thanks for breaking it down. Sad that the kiddos don't get bikes, it would have been a fun aspect to train them how to ride, ya know, for those grown Sims with families and responsibilities who got their Master's degrees in the two days after the pack was released.

With how boring the livestream was almost nothing actually stuck in my mind, it was like watching TV static. The only things I remember were the hovering-cyborg suit and the new column feature where they can be adjusted to touch multiple floors.

For a 2 hour stream, it didn't really give us a lot. I'm still very excited for this pack but those three gurus did not have good "stage presence", if you know what I mean. They also seemed to be slightly unaware of some of the features. Anyways, I'm still excited!! I'm a little sad we didn't get to see any of the build mode items (like windows or doors) but maybe we'll see those soon...
I wish i would have just watched this inst3ad of the 2hr stream. You crammed evwrything in 20 minutes and didn't miss anything other then maybe that we arent getting bunk beds and that you can get a room mate even without being in college... well you did touch on the roomates so maybe i just missed that lol. Anyway great episode!!!!

I found University in the Sims 2 very repetitive past the first few days once you’ve experienced the activities and parties once it was a bit boring to me, basically study, go to class, take exam, repeat. Probably a little too close to real life to me lol
@@romarine5967 yeah i played it recently and it's just okay, very repetitive (and it was hard to make friends but thats ts2 lol). in ts3 it's a bit better, but i think it's because the world is v big and you can go anywhere, it's repetitive all the same. maybe i'm just old lol.
The sims 4 is the only sims game I’ve played and I can tell this is awful, and will not be buying it w/ my own money :(

it hurt when they showed the art club's material appeared on campus seamlessly and they said graduation was a rabbit hole. NO....what if....
You have the platform and chairs (graduates and guests) appear near the statue X amount of hours (with insta clean and prank deterrent buff for the duration of the ceremony) after the active student finishes their degree. Allow players to click on the special podium to invite attendees. They can invite roommates they want to graduate with or select other active sims outside their household to get through the process at the same time...for those who want to consolidate... and also audience member so mom can come and see their big day ( reuse the animations from weddings its fine or crazy idea add holiday horn and confetti blowing with uni specific horns if you really want to get crazy about it)
Have the dean show up to read names of graduates ( steal the mechanism behind starlight accolades) then go up and get your degree when your name is called. Dean text pop up should say FirstName Last Name Distiguish Degree History with Honors as a maxium announcement (This should also be a clickable list of credititals when you view the degree along with University it is from for wall display). When all the sims have received their degree DO THE HAT TOSS!
This may be an all day event with starlight accolades to be presented as a model so people who have done it and don't want to repeat- skip it dont click the podium before it disappears and your degree will be mailed to you with the details of how well you did from Foxbury University FirstName Last Name Villiany Degree to the big one I mentioned earlier. If people don't click the podium it just disappears on its regularly appointed time and the statue gets 8 whole hours of not being defaced. There is plenty of room the mechnics are there to repurpose.
I am upset and yes I do understand the time commitment but I also understand coding I have a degree and experience with it and to say you are all about the experience and you skip the pinnacle of events in a student's life? Pfft. If the graduation rabbit hole doesn't allow you to walk in with your parents I am going to be forced to get back into mod creation.

What I understood watching the livestream is that it's called an expansion because of new rabbit hole careers, one or two new aspirations. a couple of new skills and robots. Is that enough? I have the feeling that Moschino gave us much more with so much less in terms of global gameplay.
After the livestream I can confirm I don't care about playing a sim in university but: WALL SHOWERS and RESIZABLE COLUMNS. This makes me wanna build like crazy
At least resizable columns will be patched.

Tanya O If they’re going to introduce a feature like bikes to us (which is available across all worlds and not just Britechester), why wouldn’t they fully flesh it out and animate for kids too? Kids are always left out in this game and it’s so frustrating to watch them constantly cut corners. We are consumers who are expected to pay $40 for this product. Kids were also able to bike in previous Sims games so I don’t see why it should be any different this time.
@@TanyaOwens children are main bike users, teaching a child to cycle is a big life event. that's like saying kids shouldn't be able to interact with pets. there is no reason and it's not like they are going to introduce them again for children. pure laziness.
Been a fan of the sims for many years but I stopped playing it around a year ago because it’s simply not worth the money. Waiting for paralives to come out because it seems to have more diversity to the game. Helpful review though!

I'm pretty much at the point of waiting for Paralives the Sims 4 refuses to add any decent actual game changing content or customization. 5+ years now and the game still feels completely empty.
i am personally fine with classes being rabbit holes i am not really into the get to work system it's why i don't have it cause i was never good at finishing the job so it's fine to me.
I did like hearing you need 3 skills for the mechanical engineer. I really want more challenges in the game. I'm frankly not sure that is one, but it's something I look forward to trying.

Yeah- since it's not open world this will let us make sure any other sims in household aren't sitting around doing nothing- you get such limited options for what they can do. I usually only have one sim have them and not if there are other sims i want to really do something with

Yeah, I was getting frustrated too. I feel like they didn't want to show the build/buy mode much, which has me thinking that the Maxis Monthly on Tuesday will have some surprises coming in the pre-patch that they didn't want to spoil for us yet. I'll be happy to see the objects and everything from the Game Changers when the embargo lifts this weekend (no specific date or time was given).
Yeah. It's a very different coverage for me. With RoM I had it all laid out there at the start, but it's a GP. I haven't done one like this before, ya know.. paid attention... since Island Living when I really started livestream summaries for bigger packs. I feel like it's hard to fit an EP into 2 hours and in particular one with these kinds of systems. I hope I did get that across as I definitely feel the streamers tried, but as you said they may also be holding back some surprises.
@@CarlsSimGuides Yeah, you did fine covering it. They also know that the Sim's Camp embargo lifts soon, so that will give us a lot more information too. I definitely liked the way the gurus covered the past few packs in the deep dive better than this format, but like you said it is kinda hard to show all of the stuff in 2 hours of coverage. I'm definitely excited to see what comes in the free update. It kinda feels like they went on LittleMsSam's page and just went through her mods to look at stuff they could throw in for us lol. I personally think they should be hiring some of these mod creators to help with the game development. They create some great additions to the game and I could only imagine what they would be able to do with full backing from EA/Maxis.

It seems like the soccer and esports teams are joined through the job menu in the same manner as the scouts and drama club. You can actually see them in the list when they are showing the new careers.

I didn't really care that kids can't ride bikes. But I was DEVASTATED when I heard you couldn't bring kids/toddlers into the dorms, and that bunk beds weren't coming. Oh well, I'm sure modders will be able to let us bring our kiddos and tod's with us, and hopefully, bunk beds will come in a patch...
I look forward to doing a roundup of mods that fix problems. I have high hopes for what this pack will do for the modding scene if nothing else (plus robotics).
I'm more upset that you can't bring toddlers into a restaurant. ( the restaurant doesn't even have to feed them just have the parent/person that is with the toddler feed them from the highchair like the Sims can elsewhere.) I have sneaked a few in before the game makes them disappear outside the restaurant. Feeding them from the highchair works. EA ugh.

The whole robotics thing sounds pretty cool, I always liked the robots in Sims 3. But I'm still going to wait till this pack is on sale
Seeing all those bots and lol, "Iron man" like costume (as you pointed out) in the livestream makes me think that perhaps a Futuristic Pack is somewhere on the horizon?? OR maybe, I'm just wishful thinking!
What I don't get is why we have aliens with get to work and robots with university? I don't undrestand what robots have to do with university, I think a "Future!" pack should have included Aliens and robots and it would have been 100% better and more logical...

We did know about the radio but it is a weird carry-over from the HipHop station in Get Famous with some songs staying locked to the Get Famous DLC and some new songs. So...technically not a new radio station

I'm so frustrated... It was such a good opportunity for the Sims team to actually dive into the education theme, not only stuff for adults. I was expecting more after school activities for children and teenagers, so that it could actually matter what you did towards scholarships. Was also expecting better schools and activities for them. I know its a university pack but I'm SO TIRED of playing this young adult millenial simulator. When will they open their eyes and realize most of us love realistic and family oriented gameplay... Also, this is more of a personal opinion now, but I could really care less about the robotics. It all seems to unrealistic and I really wish they could have focused on new traits and better core mechanics than on a skill that will become repetitive after you finish your first servo.
That's exactly why I love Sims 4 parenthood so much. But they still need to improve. Let's hope that they don't make The Sims 4: Explore Childhood for $40, and just add it straight to the base game

So to my understanding this is how the courses run based on that we need to complete 12 classes to graduate :
4 Classes/0 Electives/ = 3 weeks
3 Classes/1 Electives/ = 4 weeks
2 Classes/2 Electives/ = 6 weeks
1 Class/3 Electives/ = 12 weeks

I think you can only have one elective class per term, because it says 'regular classes,' but 'elective class' in the window.
@@cayreet5992 cus the lady said its completely up to you if you want to have 4 classes or not , but yes we will see and yea it just looked that way to me , and the electives dont really matter its the classes so its still going to take that certain amount of time to complete

I'm not gonna lie, this pack looks pretty boring. As l expected.
I find it kind of odd the Britechester is based on England (and maybe the Netherlands from the look of the architecture in the town) but the uni's are so American. Especially the dorms, at every university i know in the UK you have a kitchen as food was not provided. Our classes are set and yes they are worth credits but you can't choose to take less. Funilly enough i did have an "elective" class on my course but it didnt count towards your grade or anything and it was only once a week.
Tbh I’m fed up of all games being so American even if they’re modelled on other countries it’s all so American

Sims 4 expansions are just like putting lipstick on a PIG. All of these superficial reworkings can't hide how broken the core mechanics of the game. It's TOO easy to make money, the emotion / moodlet system is meaningless, there are NO challenges or setbacks, grinding and progression aren't rewarded, and the animations feel dull and uninspired.
Once again, budget cuts and a glaring lack of creative leadership has all but ruined one of my favorite game franchises.
Exactly and the game will never be given the budget to attempt to fix the mess that is the base game.
