I think you meant that IELTS is an equivalent for a proficiency test, not for TEFL/ TESOL certificate. Because IELTS does not provide the employer with any information on your knowledge of teaching methods and techniques (TESOL/TEFL does). Also, people need to take into consideration the fact that IELTS expires in 2 years and then one needs to take it again. For proficiency test I recommend to take a 90min EFset C2 (free, online) or Cambridge CAE / CPE (offline).

I have Higher National Diploma in Accounting.I went on to take Professional Diploma in Education and I am fully licensed with the Nigeria Teaching certificate.I have been teaching for 18 years the following subjects English Language, Mathematics Additional Mathematics and sciences.I have the TELF certificate also.Do I stand a chance?
Please i have a TRCN certificate from Nigeria will it serve in Vietnam and must i authenticate my certificate in Nigeria before coming to Vietnam or i can do it in Vietnam

But associate degree is also a university degree. Is it not enough for starting job in Vietnam as a English teacher?

Yea, they take teacher all year round, buy May, June and July is when there’s massive recruitments going on.
