    That's quite a song, isn't Thomas? What Parisa said is so true, even the heavier Nightwish songs are soothing and mesmerising. Listening to them makes me feel calm sometimes emotional, and always wanting more!
    Their stage presence seems to be on point with every song, but is spontaneous and never choreographed nor rehearsed, Tuomas and Floor said in interviews. They all do know how to radiate emotion, don't they!

    • @ThomFoolery1
      @ThomFoolery1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Hey Frank! Thanks for your comment. I also agree, there's something so effortless and magical about them. You can't help but get lost in it and hungry for more when it ends. With each video I react to, the more I understand why they have such a large and passionate following. :)

    That transition is one of best I have ever seen. So incredibly well done. This may well be my favorite Nightwish song, if a favorite is even possible. Marko's bass line is just brutal as is Tuomas' head banging. Floor's unheard scream at 11:12 is just so - man, I can't even find a word for it ("unleash the beast" comes to mind). This whole song is just monstrous. Great reaction!

    When Nightwish goes crazy ...
    There is nothing better than seeing those musicians doing what they were created for. Performing on stage. Putting their souls into performance. And knowing that they don’t do this with dollar pictures in their eyes, but because they enjoy it. And we can enjoy with them!

    Hi Parisa! Welcome to the madness!
    There is, all through this one, a big flavor of Old Morocco, the great silk caravans, long journeys on camels, night time desert winds, the hint of wild spice. ADVENTURE! Emppu is so underrated.
    Floor and Marko getting LOUD together at the end is fab. They lean into each other.
    Floor needs to keep windmilling. Those lights won't power themselves!
    I think Troy was playing an electric bouzouki. .I could be heinously wrong.

      Cheers Sandra! Wow, that is such a beautiful and eloquent description. You should do reactions/reviews yourself! Yes, you're right that was an electric bouzouki, such a cool sound that added something different to an already amazing song. :)

    • @572Btriode
      @572Btriode 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThomFoolery1 I think it's based on Stephen King novel "Wolves of the Calla" for the title but possibly inspired by The Dead Poets Society - you know Tuomas refers to himself in songs as Poet/Boy/Writer/Dreamer. May be a musical metaphor for living life to the full of your aims as the wolves are only 7 days behind.
      It's a real work getting inside the lyrics of Tuomas. . . . . . .

      @@michaelgomez782 Irish bouzouki is based on a Greek bouzouki but with diferent tuning and flatter sound box back so that it can be played easier while standing but still follows the norms of bouzouki meaning: either traditional trichordo so 3 double strings or the more modern tetrachordo so 4 double strings so definitely not a 12 string one and Troy uses a tetrachordo so it has 4 pairs of strings. Your girlfriend described this song just perfectly. I loved this reaction a lot.
    Nightwish is an amazing band. Floor and her stage presence, Marko viking beard and doing vocals along with playing bass, Emppu the funny guy who delivers just as much as the song needs, Kai killing those drums with like 5 arms, Troy the adorable and super talented elf, and of course the genius Tuomas. But like I said, they are fully capable of breaking into the intensity they are well known for. No matter it is always an experience well worth hearing. One thing I find absolutely beautiful with NW IS that as they surprise with each song there is still a theme on each album and Even between albums.
    Some lyrics or musical details that connects them to be a part of bigger story.
    Not just irrational great songs. Which they could Be If listening just one of them.
    Of course i cant speak for Tuomas or rest of them But to me humble fan IT seems obvious that Human Nature has Been brewing there and is a continuoum (IS that even a word 😜) of last couple albums.

    Welcome on your Nightwish trip. As I have said to many people. I have seen them live more than once. One time in a small venue where I was close enough to almost shake hands with them. I have met them personally. They are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Absolutely no egos. Very patient with all of my questions. They made it seem like they were more interested in me then I was in them. Very welcoming. A truly class act. If you ever get the chance to see them live you will not regret it.

    The instrument that Troy plays is an electric Irish Buzuki . Is more like a replacement of an acoustic guitar or a lute . Great song guys , never disappointed from that band! Floor is the queen of stage ! '' Wembley let' s gooo !! '' Empuu' s solo all the money ! Parisa enjoyed it , point!~

    My take on how Floor projects the words of a song. She is a self described empath. When she projects to the crowd and they respond, she feeds off of that and the song just keeps getting better and better. This is why we experience "Floorgasms". Maybe...

    I've been waiting for you to react to Nightwish's Gethsemane, especially the clip from Buenos Aires 2018. Very few do it, although it has one of the best guitar solos by Emppu. And the keys Tuomas plays.. my goodness. Floor's appearance is out if this world, but that's of course natural since we all know by now she's not human. Not forgetting any other member either, everyone gives their best, as usual.
    The song is more than 20 years old, from the Oceanborn album, There are live performances from 1999 , which with Tarja are fabulous too, but I believe most people like the one from this tour more.
    Please, Thomas..! At some point...

    Stopped it right there on 8:14 now. Its his Bouzouki allright,i noticed now that it got some light on it. Really cool old string instrument with wonderful sound to it. Makes the classic unplugged guitar sound old and grey in comparrasement. I think Troys one is a Irish customed made one,because it got a more edgy look then the original Bouzouki from Greece. And the Irish Bouzouki is indeed all black,so there you go lol. Took me awhile as they look so alike in the dark haha.

    Great musicians who understand what a song needs. Not overplaying it at any point, not trying to outshine the rest of the band members. Just a group of amazing individuals forming a collective and it shows. It adds to the performance and how the crowd experiences it. A lot of modern "musicians" don't understand this, with the overdone choreo's, crazy dances etc.
    The build up in this song tho. It builds and builds and then after that midsection, that drop... how do you even come up with that? Toumas, you are amazing. Imagine being him, writing this stuff in his head, hearing it come to life like this. And Emppu, often feels like he doesnt get the credit he deserve, is indeed an amazing player and the perfect example of what I said in the first part. Just doing what the song needs and only showing off in a few moments which gives it that much more impact. Funny, being a prankster often pulling jokes on his fellow bandmates like pulling the plug on Floor's in-ear during one of the songs at the Wacken concert. Great guitarist and yet so humble, that little knee-bow and smile when he tosses one of his picks into the audience. Wholesome

      It's interesting to hear about them helping you through Struggles. Since doing these reactions, a lot of people have been saying the same thing. Especially with the stress of this year. It's been great to share the joy and appreciation of this music with everyone and see how it brings people together and gives us all something to smile about. :)

    • @DJGots

      @@ThomFoolery1 it is what it is and we're all in the same boat. Makes it a bit easier to bare and we got stuff to look forward to.
      And about the struggles, I do think its a common thing yes. Nightwish is music that touches people in a different way than the commercial pop from nowadays. Not saying they are the only band who manages this or that all pop music is bad, but a lot feels like it's purely made for the money. It doesnt feel original or has no real meaning. Music is a form of art after all.
      With NW I can relate to certain songs or some even help me understand certain things in life. The world feels very egocentric and distant at the moment, even before this year, atleast to me personally. Music is just an universal language that helps us (re)connect
      And in general, its just fun watchin people get blown away by the tide of emotions that NW steers towards newcomers. And see others enjoy your favorite music and just have a good time. Hence it comes back to the experience of the public which I said in my original comment :)
