THE underrated band of all time - all bandmembers on the top of their creative power - if you need to explain how real dirty rockmusic should sound like: play THE FACES and they'll get it!
Great live version of a great track! Never did see them live, but I nearly did - I had a ticket for their Bristol Colston Hall show around 1973 or 74, but it was cancelled a few days beforehand, as either one of the band was ill or one of them had broken a finger, something like that, I can't remember. The show was never re-scheduled either, great shame!
Top man Cantona31, this is one seminal Faces track I've been searching for. This track always brought the roof down at a gig. Is there anyone out there who has a live clip of this anywhere in the world.......pleeeease!!!!!!!
I would've rather had this excellent version in place of that poor sounding audience recording on the otherwise perfect "Five Guys Walk Into A Bar..." Box set. Man the Faces were amazing. That's all I have to say.
@chrisguygeezer yeah, you're wright - but, the impact on every generation of youth, that zeppelin or sabbath had, was so much bigger - and i don't know, why the faces shouldn't also have nearly a same impact - it's rock in it's purest and best way ! AND: everytime i played the faces to younger people - they where blown away amazed ! that's why i think they're underrated - theire legacy should be more known. so, let's spread the words ;-)
Underrated? Are you sure? Did you ever see them live? Were their gigs not always sold out? A Nod reached no.6 in the States & no.2 here. That equates into 10's of thousands of album sales.
I'm sorry that I never got to see The Faces live. But, I did get to meet the funny, sweet Ian "Mac" McLagan twice. RIP, Mac and Ronnie Lane.
LOVE THE FACES!!!!THANKS A LOT.NEVER A DULL MOMENT.
This is a brilliant version of the track. Excellent.
I was most intrigued by the colored queen leaning on the kitchen door......now that's a classic line.
