Wow, a typically awesome Sailing Mokara video! Lovely sailing footage early: sparkling blue waters with cumulus clouds rising just above the hillsides. Then, a breathtaking panorama of Cook's Bay-- understandable that you're in love with this island even before dropping anchor. Whale sightings-- they like the place, too! Majestic palms adorning the coast. A good climb yields more breathtaking vistas over the bay. And the video capped off with a mesmerizing swim in the reef among rays, sharks, and exotic fish, who seem delighted to receive visitors into their world. Thanks for posting.
Hi Frank. We find these places to hard to leave but there always seems to be another amazing places just around the corner. The rays and sharks are incredible and we hope to come back here one day. We loved the locals outrigger and how casual they are with the rays swimming around them. We have some more great footage coming up so please stay tuned.
Aww, ended too soon! Great subjects and footage, super editing! I so wanted to be in there with the boys and the rays. We will watch this many times. Thank you 1000 times over!
That is great to hear. I always worry that we show too much of the same footage but I get so absorbed watching the sharks and rays again on the video that I try and add all the clips that we have into the video. The rays are so graceful and we love watching them do an underwater ballet.
Always natural. Just a honest view of your life and travels. Wow really good to hear and see the actual calmness of the rays. As you said they get a bad unescessary rap. Keep your vids coming it's always something I look forward to.
The rays were incredible. These ones interact with a lot of people and have zero fear of humans. We have also had great expereince with 100% wild ones in remote areas. We hope to increase video uploads as we have a lot of footage to catch up on. Thanks for watching.
5:30 This is SUCH a civilized thing to say!!!!!!!! "I'm just stripping and jumping in". In that order! The potential exposé aside, just NOT WANTING TO GET YOUR CLOTHES WET is most commendable. I have to say, I'm genuinely impressed by your boys. Most boat kids go ferral (feral?) after a year on the boat. I just can't believe how CLEAN and well maintained ( 😀) yours are. And now THIS... I'm most impressed.... And I'm getting too old and too soft.
8:53 Ooooh, poor Polynesian names at the mercy of the british scissor-tongues. Plage (correct on that one!) DE TA'AHIAMANU. Oh, by the way, in Samoan ta'ahiamanu means "death". The Death Beach. Good luck!
13:50 All of you proud owners of Chevrolet Corvette STINGRAY.... yeah, your guzzmobiles are named after a slow squishy flat fish... Kept the receipt, did you? 😀
You're gonna WALK 20 kilometers!? Even if I was on the Moon and the oxygen system needed repairs I would NOT walk 20km for parts. Shoot me on the spot!
4:43 No, Nate. "Especially" for YOU. You are MAYBE 15 tons if that. A whale can be TEN TIMES that. And your hull is MAYBE 20mm thick with two long thin blades hanging in the back for rudders. So hitting a whale is a VERY bad idea. The whale will get a BIG owie, sure, but YOUR trip will be over... until Mommy and Daddy sell you to a uranium mine in Zimbabwe to fix Mokara that is.
3:55 Dayem! He looks SO cool. I only object to that WHOA! Way too American for my taste. Considering where you are, it should be something like OH-LA-LA! PS WHY do your kids not tan to the chocolate color? You've been roaming the tropics for 4 years, they should be FULL OBAMA by now. Yet, they are merely peachy.
Ha Ha. I think if we went for the OH-LA-LA option we may get interesting looks from the other sailors. The boys are pretty brown but not quite Full Obama yet. That would take some doing.
Yes, we definitely need help when pronouncing these words. It doesn't help that amongst the sailors everyone pronounces it differently. Time to speak to a local.
@@SailingMokara (With the best british accent I can muster) OH MY GOD! I'll make you a bet. If you speak a full sentence in the local dialect, I WILL EAT MY HAT LIVE ON TH-cam. Are the boys any help in that dept? I seem to remember they were somewhat speaking Spanish in the Caribbean... back when Nathan was cabin carry and Dylan didn't audition for Don Giovanni.
The rays are wonderful. Great video nice job all around thanks.
Thanks Dave. We really enjoyed the experience.

9:23 THAT's the ticket!
8:00 WOW! That's dolphins talking! SO nice to have sound recording camera underwater.
Very cool indeed. We were not expecting to get such a great recording of the sound.
7:00 A CRUISE SHIP?! Where from!?!?!?
5:34 WHERE!?!?!?
Nice video.
Thanks for the comment

4:57 WHERE?
11:02 PLEASE tell me it's not the place where they ate him!
Would it kill you to take a few shots of the ferry itself? 😞
Oh man.... I feel like I have really let you down on this one.

1:40 You're doing FIVE POINT THREE knots in FORTY KNOTS of wind? You should probabl watch a few tutorial videos here on youtube. 😀

Yes, good perseverance on his part. That was a fast trip so very windy...!
