My father had dementia for 19 years. It was a slow steady decline (some days better than others and nights worse than days) about the last 5 months of his life, then he went into rapid decline mode. and passed away. I think Biden has entered into rapid decline mode and will probably not be able to serve out his term, much less run for another one.

If Biden chooses to step aside, and if they could figure out the legal proceedings as far as the funding goes, it would be great if it could be Gavin Newsom. I heard that Trump and his campaign get nervous by him. That’s a good thing. So if it’s not Biden, I hope it’s Gavin Newsom. He’s confident, articulate, and thinks quickly on his feet.

This is not that hard: Benedict Donald keeps harping about "cognitive" tests, so now would be the chance for the Biden team to challenge crump to a whole battery of tests from top professionals. Include knowledge and aptitude tests for several relevant subjects such as history and government. Each team could pick 6 out of 10 of the top universities, and the common choice(s) would get to run the tests. Biden would agree to step aside to another D if the pros advise him to. If crump refuses to participate, all the better for Biden.
