- Here is my craft room - it's a little messy like me. I have recently reorganized and "tidied" my craft space. I'm hoping the tidy will stick around a little longer this time. I have learned that I need to see what I have and certain things just need to be together to make my crafting life easier.
This video is a little awkward and you may need some Dramamine to watch it.
I hope that how I store some of my journal making and paper crafting supplies will give you some ideas for your own creative space.
I really enjoy seeing other people's creative spaces and hope you all enjoy seeing mine. I am truly blessed to have the space I have.

Wow, just wow! I can’t believe the amount of stuff you have....where were you able to find it all? So many longaberger baskets...I have never seen so many in one place. Then there is all of the vintage books, cards, doilies, trims, etc. I am lucky to find 5 or 6 doilies a year and never can I find old bingo cards, playing cards, vintage lace, or so many bird and flora books. I could go on and on...enjoy everything you have and I hope you have time to craft and enjoy all of your lovely things, not just collect them. Your hubby must be very supportive! Lovely room, a spot of heaven..💖🥰💝👏
My hubby is wonderful and it’s taken years to find everything. We are in the middle of moving right now and I’m afraid it won’t all fit in the new spaces 🥴 I’ll post a new video when we are all settled ❤️

I mentioned this to another crafter who has the same vibe as you: as much as I appreciate those pristine all white IKEA craft rooms, this is truly a crafters room. I love how not everything matches but everything kind of goes together if that makes sense. Beautiful room.

Hey, don't worry about what people think, just enjoy your things. I like the look of it. Most crafters have a lot of things. My mom says mine looks like a store and it's half the size of yours, lol. I love the look of old books on a shelf. I don't really have the heart to tear them up but they make great vintage decor.

Thanks for the glimpse inside your creative space! I love the storage made by the local man, those are so cool. You sort things like I do, I like things to have a place but not always the neatest rooms. It just breeds inspiration to me.
We bought this house for about the same reason as you. I spotted the house more than 25 years ago now and went straight to my Mom woke her up & said come see what I found! Mind you it was about midnight, but I was so excited. She said she was glad I woke her as she saw all the space we wanted , not to mention it reminded us both of the home my grandparents had. We bought it the next day!. The house is over 100 years old (new wiring/plumbing) but all original hardwood floors , built in cabinetry throughout, 4 fireplaces, and 14 rooms! 3000 square feet of space! Not including the attic, which I really had planned to expand into but for so many reasons including health, I never did, not one thing is even stored up there, and I could frame out a 30x30 room without any slant from the roof! Only my mom, myself, and my son lived here. Now just me pretty much, as my Mom passed and my son is grown and a long haul trucker (so he is only here once a month for 3 to 4 days.
I am writing a novel here but wanted to let you know I enjoyed the tour and I don't think you have too much! I have no room to say that to anyone! I actually had 2 craft type rooms to start with, one for sewing only, the other for everything else. As years went by and I started doing more things I outgrew the spaces (20x20). Currently I still have the 2 original rooms but have moved all my jewelry making and metal work into another room, I have a dedicated mixed media room, paper crafting room, and a room just for Christmas crafts! so yeah 5 rooms of crafts! I also bring things in my media room to work on while watching TV or TH-cam LOL but I almost always take it back where it belongs when I am done. I did say almost always *GIGGLES* Thanks for the share and I can't wait for my order from you to get here! They always make me happy and all Emily items are together!

So fun to see where the magic happens, Emily! You are definitely not alone...if it’s Timmy, I buy it, especially if it’s on sale! I’m so happy to see a craft room that looks like mine! We need a lot of stuff to create what we do. About the time I think will I ever use this stuff, I find something that is absolutely perfect for what I’m working on and think thank goodness I didn’t get rid of that! I’ve been a lot better this year about not buying vintage stuff...no estate sales, no antique stores...covid has kept me in the house and not shopping. But, oh how I love to treasure hunt. Keeping vintage books and other inventory items take up room, but look how awesome your room is!!! Oh my I wish I still had all the things instead of listening to people. You have a round eraser with a brush on it that we use to use when typing.....sadly I probably don’t have mine now. It makes me happy to hear that your Pam button makes you smile.

I know this is 3 years old but THIS IS AMAZING, we're craft storage 'sisters from another mister'. I love baskets and wood and I need to have a reorganise and try and situate things together. I'm also vertically challenged, but I still need to make use of the vertical space.

Hi Emily, your craft room looks like mine but about 5 times smaller. I don’t have near the storage space or stuff. I love Tim Holtz stuff to but Sweetie I use it when I get it unless it’s his paper packs that I may at a later time. You are definitely blessed to have the space and stuff that you’ve acquired over the years. I would say you have my dream craft room. I want to do a Heidi Journal as well. I’ve love that movie ever since I was a little girl, especially Shirley Temple. I’ve made 3 Native American Journals and sold them, of course I’ve made other journals but for as themed journals nothing great like Heidi. I have some ideas but I don’t have the stuff to make them which discourages me. For the past few months I haven’t been able to make one piece of ephemera or journal. My creativity has just dried up and has gone. Here it is Christmas and I want to make a Christmas journal so badly but I can’t because nothing has inspired me or drawled me in to do it. I can’t get out of this dark cloud. Oh enough of my darkness. I’m so happy and thrilled that you shared your craft room with us. What a great place to create!!! 💝❤️🥰💖💕🤗

Love that you incorporated your Hoosier cabinet in the craft room. Your channel is what I’ve been looking for. The old sewing machine drawers and baskets… my kind of storage! I have those same pink childrens encyclopedia books. Love it all ❤ glad you decided to share with us. 😊

I can’t believe I wasn’t subscribed to your channel!! How did that not happen!? But I am now. As soon as I can get around properly, I’m moving my craft room to the bedroom off the living room (weird place to have a bedroom I think). It will also serve as a playroom for my grand babies. After I retired I started buying all kinds of craft supplies and have never stopped but my daughter and her family moved in with a new baby and I became the “nanny”. I have stuff all over the house I forgot I had....anyway I love your craft room and you have given me many ideas! Thank you Emily!❤️😊

What a score on that nice big room. You’re the type that totally deserves it and if someone thinks you’re crazy for all that luscious inventory, just know you’re crazy in the very best ways. It’s soooo helpful to see how others arrange and sort their supplies. I LOVE your style. Does the guy who makes stuff from found materials sell somewhere public? We’re in Washington and would love an excuse to RV to Oregon for a look-see at his awesome wooden creations.
Quite a few local antique dealers sell Johns things - the easiest place to find them is at Aunt Bee’s House here in Salem ( they have lots of good things to tempt you). Another good place is The Farmhouse show in Turner Oregon at the end of October- I think they have RV parking there. It’s a beautiful show. We’ve moved so my craft room is a little different now - so much smaller. My mom moved to assisted living and now I am blessed with her antique drawers. I need to do a new room tour at some point. Girl don’t feel bad about having so much Tim Holtz items. How many times have we gone to the store for a certain item and they don’t have it? I think you’re a genius for doing that. I do it too but just started so don’t have as much as you do....yet! I don’t see a mess when looking around you. You have a place for everything and everything is where you can get it. I absolutely LOVE your craftroom, especially the eclectic vibe, all those differently coloured woods! Wonderful! I especially like your local craftsman who uses old things to make stuff - like the spirit level. Er talking about levels... Do you look through your camera while filming? Because I'm finding that the view is very disturbing, zotting from side to side and up and down like a mad thing, I felt uneasy, so I had to pause it. But I do want to see the rest. By the way I reckon you and I probably have about the same amount of Tim Holtz bits n' pieces, but mine being currently in an RUB box, I plan to put it out on hooks probably - so as to be more accessible. And IF you're a hoarder, you're about the tidiest one I've ever seen! As crafters we all seem to apologise rather overmuch for either WHAT we have, or how MUCH of it we have. I do that too, I must stop doing that. I prefer to call myself a crafter/collector. It seems to be an instinct we have in common. Lol! Slow down your camera work and dwell on things for longer. I wanna SEE it! Lovely craftroom, I could have lots of fun in it. Thanks for showing us.
I have never seen baskets in a craft room used such as this. I LOVE IT!!! I love the mix of baskets drawers and vintage items. It all just works. I feel like I stepped into my grandmas craft room when I was a child....and I am 53. Great job! I have a question tho. I noticed you have a few vintage metal card catalog drawer units that are vintage. Do you store paper in them and does the metal harm the paper at all? I ask because I recently acquired a metal unit and want to use it for paper.
Hi Lynn - I do store paper in them - well actually I store coffee dyed envelopes and index cards, old postcards and greeting cards. They work great for storing and I like being able to flip through everything.

I have been trying to fix up my craft room do some rearranging and organizing...I love the mish mash of your room so many rooms are all white and to clean for me...love the old sewing machine drawers you have I found a few but still on the out look for more..where did you find yours...I love those wood drawers you said a man made with scrap wood pieces can you post his name and maybe I could find one for me...love your video...and all your stash mine is no where near what you have but I would probably get anxiety with all that ...just me...
Hi Linda - I’m not sure if the man that made the drawers is even still making them. I recommend checking out Aunt Bee’s House in Salem Oregon. Lots of dealers purchased from him over the last 30 years so maybe a local dealer has some and Aunt Bee’s ships they are on Facebook and Instagram. We’ve moved so my craft is much smaller and my stash is too 😆. I still have lots of old wood drawers- I just love them! They add so much warmth and personality to a space but they take years to collect so I can’t blame people for running to IKEA and picking out storage there.

hi emily, you did a great job with the tour of your crafting space! i loved your "hi mom" shout out :-) i have a couple printers trays and just can't decide what i want to use them for. your's looks like it holds special treasures. i think you are really organized! don't feel bad about having what you have, your smart to pick things up when you find a sale/clearance! do the trays come all the way out on the clear storage for washi tape? i would like it if they did so i could take a drawer out and bring it to my table, thanks for the link. you've dona an amazing job with organizing and storage!! thanks so much for sharing :-)

We’ve actually moved so my new room is much smaller with different storage. I do still have longaberger baskets though. Stopped buying them a long time ago though I do occasionally pick them up at garage sales for crazy cheap- can’t help myself 😆
Where did your husband get those long bolts for the book press?? I have had so much trouble finding ones long enough and threaded the whole length. Also, I saw that file folder you said you found in a thrift store with "Snohomish" written on it. Looks like your in WA too. I live on the Olympic Peninsula now, but used to live in Monroe which is in Snohomish Co. :)

A junk journal is a handmade journal sometimes made from recycled items like old books and junk mail etc and sometimes made from new items . They are a ton of fun to make ❤️ so many different ways to make them too

What is the name of those baskets Emily?
They are Longaberger Baskets and we’re handmade in America in Ohio. They’ve gone out of business now but can be found on eBay for a fraction of what they sold for in their heyday. They are such good quality and super strong. I sold them so I could buy them and some I earned for sales. The company is out of business now - so sad 😞
My son is an OTR trucker & he has driven by this giant basket building/ and called me wanting me to find out what it was. I was reading about it and they were trying to turn it into a hotel this year but with the virus I think it is on hold. It is still quite an awesome site just google it and see the image of it and find out about it's history and all the amenities the original owner had put into it!
