I wrote a new song called "Resove" after watching this. Thank you again Mr. Peirce, and thank you The Cure (strum). Hope you dont mind my using your E minor 9 filler, as well as resolving those chords that don't fit the circle of 5ths in it. No words yet, but it will be a ballad.
Using my tenor uke tuned as an octave mando with nylon guitar strings.

Very cool. Thanks. Judging by the room decor, you're in Japan, right? My daughter's high school in Hamamatsu has a mandolin club. Wishing she had joined after watching this video.

You are best teacher on here buddy but i need to hear something new.like some tool or prong,or seplatura if i hear anth wayfairng stranger then i throwing my mandoine in road. Iv played acoustic for couple years im far from good but there is every type of music taught on it. Mandoin is only the same songs over and over and over. I dont learn chords nor do i want to. I learn scales and shapes. Im 40year old and im learning disabled and honestly surprised me that im able to do what i can and have only been able to follow and learn from you... but i have these songs in my head its beautiful. and cant get them out. Its making me crazy. I think everyone that plays decent has at least one original great song in them . iv made couple on guitar and one already on mandoline.. I just wish i could watch and play with anyone else that i can learn from. Im in michigan in between lansing and jackson
If there is anyone that plays any instruament that wants to talk about and share with me. Ill share with you also. Iv never gave up on anything and ill be damned if this little sound box gets best of me. Th@nk you both for having passion in your art and not coming of as uptight mando players like 90% of others do.. Iv never fit in anywhere and i think maybe music is where i coud help somone. Maybe im wrong but i know the energy is flowing in positive journey that i need to continue on. Im on journy to find myself and to understand me. But my music expresses me.....

Thanks, dude. I appreciate your comments. I do try to do different things here, and songs not normally associated with mandolin. So you'll never heard Wayfaring Stranger on this channel! lol!

Not to be a purist or acting like I know what I'm talking about, why would you want to tune a mandolin like a guitar why not just tune and play a mandolin like a mandolin?

Because it was likely easier for him to play it on guitar rather than learn a new instrument.

11/18/22 youtube At about 14 minutes he says 'in the 80s' but this song is from the 90s. Confusing..Just a mistake?

Dude, Tim generously gave up his time to explain the song to us. For free. I’d cut him a bit of slack. He’s a really talented and nice guy.

Seems like a mandola would be better suited for this?
