After driving almost exactly same Khyber for 5 years, I think this car is hundred times better than Overrated Mehran which was still being sold till few days back. Hats off to you Sunil sir for acknowledging this Beauty.
I have a Khyber 1999 model from the last 20 years and I must tell you that this car has wonderful brakes. The car does not skid. There must be some issue with his car only. If I had to tell its drawback then it is the ORVMs. They have so much blind spot area. Other than that, this car is perfect.
Yup i also have khyber swift its breaks are perfect but there is problem of blind spots

Suzuki khyber is a complete car,having no technical faults or company faults,build quality is osam,superb quality of that time,suspention is also of very high quality,even at a speed of 160km ur car remains stable,rest its an old model,we should compare to its own time bt stil its quality is far better than cultus.
Ac is also not bad,head lights have enough light as compared to cultus.in short its a complete car in a very low budget.i love its drive n i wil star 5 to Khyber
Instead of going for khyber go for Suzuki Margalla as it is in same budget as khyber but it's engine is 1300cc and it's a complete sedan car with good comfort level

Great review. The sound comes from gear in the cold morning is due to thick gear oil. Change the gear oil to 75w-90 oil of any trusted company, your problem will be solved. But be sure that all the seals are in very good condition, otherwise not recommeded. Sunil bhai gives you better idea about that as well.

assalamoalaikum. i am dr farooq. i also own this car. i totally agree with the comments. and as far as fuel average is concerned i will add something really good for suzuki khyber. my suzuki khyber is giving me an average of up to 19km/lit which is really amazing for me as well. but all depends upon how you use the RPM of your car. this car is since a low profile, it gives this car very good road grip and its very stable on road. being low profile, this car gets hit by a bit higher speed bumps when 4 persons are sitting in it. but overall i have a very good impression for this car and i found this very strong and rigid car if compared to other competitors within this price range.
We also have a suzuki khyber 1994 model with a modified engine of vits (2012) vvt.i 1000cc engine and 5 speed toyota transmission with a fabulous milage of 18km in city and 21+km milage on long route.....khyber lovers😍

I had this Khyber 99 grey color. Very comfortable leg space and drive, AC used to be so so (effective for front seat passenger's only)
Owner feels like a newbie he doesn't know about car I have this car from last 10 years 1995 model best suspension than Cultus no vibration even at 160 km/h. Ride quality is great average is 13-14 in city 16-17 on highway pick is still better than any 1000cc car props to Sunil sir for the review of this car.

I have Suzuki Khyber 1995 model registered in Karachi and that car is also Swift in registration, moreover! market of Suzuki khyber is not that much, we find khyber 200K to 400K depending on model and registration, I have recently repaired its engine and it gives me 12 to 13 Km without AC, I have changed its 2nd gear once because of some issue in it, There is a big issue in this car is of its maneuvering, on ZIg zag roads in AJK it often slips if you are driving alone, Road grip is not attractive but overall it is far better than mehran, santro and cuore but not better than cultus as per my personal view.

SIR PLEASE MAKE A OWNER OR A BUDGET CAR REVIEW OF SUZUKI BALENO?
I recently sold my 04 bumper to bumper genuine Baleno 1.3L no touchups or even minor accidents etc, it's a good car. Comfort was good if the foam was in good condition (stock). The milage was around 12-14kmpl in the city. Genuine parts are a bit expensive but I never had to change a bolt.

I also had this car. It was very fast and stable, stable because it was a wider car. I did 165km/hr on it, and it was stable at that speed. I also loved doing donuts in it because it was always under control. Also, I would slide it sideways, and it would hold those slides beautifully.

I kept this car for 7 years in late 90s- early 2000's, A worth mentioning plus point of Khyber used to be its incredible performance in hilly terrain . It used to beat even 1300 cc cars in uphill driving.
The comment about gearbox is not correct infact it was khybers strong point. With its carburetor engine, excellent weight to power ratio, cheap robust parts. longer wheel base, beautiful shape and first of compact hatch backs in Pakistan it was infact " a legendary car of its era" as rightly pointed out by Suneel.

i have a khyber in a nice condition, change its tyres to its genuine tyre size because of geometry of the suspension. its handling and brakes will improve.
