Someone was gonna do it. After Panda, the opportunity existed, it was just risky given the history of the scene. But its still a worthwhile venture since there are so little competitors. They essentially are have a 70% stake in the Smash Scenes proverbial 'stock'.

Banjo AND Kazooie are definitely Tweek characters. Makes perfect sense for him to try picking them up seriously.
Toriguri is already beating top players in Japan plus the worldwide invaders with Banjo. The Banjo meta took so long to develop because people wrote him off within weeks of release. It takes years to understand a new character’s meta, especially one as technical as Banjo. I can’t wait to see what Tweek is able to show us with the character.

I decided to subscribe to the Patreon because the topic seemed interesting. I'm so glad I did. Everyone, you have to listen to the bonus content. It's changed my perspective of things...as a fan who goes 1-2 at the 1-2 tourneys a year I compete in. It was very interesting and worth the 6 bucks. Gave me a new appreciation for the art of Smash, and I would love more content that does deep dives into the value of certain setups/situations.

As someone who plays Banjo often myself, he's weirdly solo mainable. Still bad and has many bad MUs but he has no super super bad MUs unlike most bad characters, everything is doable. It's mainly cos grenade egg is just insane against most characters

I think even if Banjo and Kazooie might not be higher than Seph on a tier list, that they’re more of a “Tweek character” and also would seem to cover Diddy’s matchups better than Seph did. Super excited to see it in action!

Most Esports have a specific number of tournaments that count for rankings. In smash any and every tournament, if it’s big enough, can be held out of nowhere and count for rankings. Japan has the most large tournaments and, like tweek mentioned are in close proximity to each other unlike NA and Europe.
I hear a lot of people saying they want the year split for rankings so half-year rankings, but LumiRank could just do both half-year rankings and a full-year ranking for fun? What’s stopping them from doing that.

@@samgardner7376 I thought it was just put in algorithm, and it gives results. I'm not saying make the player graphics, info, cards etc. but just hard list the full-year rankings cause why not.

The Capcom Pro Tour lasts throughout the whole calendar year. There’s qualifiers all year and then usually Capcom Cup is that December or early the next year.
Same with the Tekken World Tour and whenever Netherrealm does something (MK11 and Injustice 2 Pro Series).
Smash ranks lasting the whole year is pretty in line with other fighting games.
Tours/circuits and ranking seasons are completely different things.
Tours have you actually competing for something with a consistent base for everyone.
Smash rankings actually have no real meaning and are heavily flawed (which is why no game with an actual foundation/dev support will do offlicial rankings) you get nothing from them except maybe more eyes from sponsors.

I feel like part of the reason for Corrin resurgence is the developing meta, since its a lot campier now across the board, the character stands out as a better pack and performs better overall

Diddy and Banjo would be such a baller character duo for you Tweek. I know the consensus of the community is Banjo sucks, but he's got some crazy stuff and is not as bad as people think. Plus with Grenade you can do some slightly similar things with Z dropping and such.
Anyways ya I don't know if Tweek will ever read this, but please keep the Banjo and Diddy duo.

I know tweek probably won’t see this but JPlay/ JoTa is a good banjo to watch. I don’t think he’s near TGa level of neutral. But his KFC and combos are much better imo. He might be able to provide on insight

Leo believes in a campy seph. I see it, especially the way Ken plays once he gets wing. People don't talk about it, but seph with wing is so hard to approach

Honestly i’ve been trying to mess around with banjo and i’m really interested to see where tweek takes the character, especially with neutral B. I’ve never been more confused about a move in this game, because supposedly it’s one of if not the best too in his kit but genuinely feels like the most needlessly restricted and straight up worst moves in the game
Normally I concede to top player opinions for the most part but I will not accept Young Link not being good that character can do so much so well
Some characters are not high end viable. It doesn't matter who picks up the character, they just can't make the char work because of its mechanical limits. I believe Banjo is a char like that. You either outskill your opponent hard or you lose because opponent is a good player with a character that just has better dynamics. Tltr: Doesn't matter how good of a driver you are. You can't beat a bugatti veyron in your Peugeot 206 in a dragrace. Banjo is the Peugeot.

Japanese players are higher rank is cause of more top players attendees but also they farm almost every top NA players. Not only just Acola and miya they beat almost all NA players. I didn’t expect Kanninabe and Umeki would make top 8 for port priority even they are not top 20 players in Japan.

Not trying to hate, I love the work you guys do. Giving commentary on the players could have made this much more interesting. But scrolling through each of them one by one and just reading their names off then saying 'shoutout' is not the way to make this kind of episode
