It was so so so so hot there. I definitely want to go back when the weather is colder because I did NOT want to do anything (the goal was to try and find shade...and then go home and take a shower)😂When I initially looked at photos of Budapest, I thought it would be too big (and sort of feel impersonal like sometimes I feel Paris does), but it wasn't. The streets were really walkable and it was really beautiful. --- I do tend to stay in apartments when I travel just because I make my own food due to allergies. But I'm very aware of issues of homelessness from places like Airbnb and short-term rentals. True, government needs better regulations or perhaps it can co-exist, but zoning and specific rules need to be put in place. I'm still looking into various options, but if any of you have recommnedations, I would love to hear about it😉 Hope you enjoy the rest of the vlogs. Plenty more to come!
I'm so glad there are others like me 😊😊!! I know my family usually just do restaurants and eating out so usually they never visit grocery stores except for maybe for water or quick grab and go things.
I actually travel with my partner but film alone😊❤️ -- though back in the day I used to love travelling by myself - sometimes a bit scary, but you're a lot more open to meeting ppl and trying new things I think.
Oooh do you speak a bit of Hungarian? I bet you'll like it and maybe recognize some foods/dishes...I think they call it the Paris of the east and for really good reason...the architecture is gorgeous - history...well I visited quite a few museums too...it's always interesting to visit former soviet blocs
@@EastMeetsKitchen I wish I did speak Hungarian! I do remember my grandmother cooking goulash, paprikash, and sweet and sour kidney beans. We used to listen to a program every week with Hungarian violin music. I hope to visit in the next few years. Thanks so much for your wonderful videos!
It's really hot in Italy too (more than 40°C). I rarely travel during Summer just because I hate when it's too hot... I've never been to Budapest, I am very interested to see your vlogs about it 😊
I actually have that rule too 😂 but sort of forgot this year (and oh gosh did I regret it!). I visited quite a few places and I was on the bus with quite a few Italian tourists too. The city is really beautiful. I would definitely go back in the autumn or late spring.
@@EastMeetsKitchen I always thought that countries like Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria etc are best during winter... probably they are magical with snow ❄️ :-)
Hmmm....um...well since I'm based in London now I find sometimes the western part of Europe is very similar. So I had been wanting to go a bit further into Eastern Europe for a while....and Hungary had been on the list.

Grocery shopping while travelling is my go-to activity. So interesting to see what's available.

Thanks for taking us to Budapest. I like the pace of this video, chatty, in-depth, casual
Wow … I so admire you for travelling on your own. And I love browsing food places in other countries.
