Gold telecaster
One of the coolest Squier releases is flying under the radar in the Affinity series. The Strat Jr has my attention at this point. An HSS strat with a two point trem and a 24 inch scale. So much appeal to the Jaguar and Mustang fans. At 249 notes it you can buy it and invest in a few mods to make it your own thing
@@livefromadive6751 Was indeed off my radar! Thanks!
Is it the same thickness as a classic vibe or Fender now? I have a 2004 affinity and upgrading it sucked. Nothing fit. To be fair I was an absolute beginner modding my 1st guitar and didn’t know better.
@@mknewlan67 I recently discussed exactly that in a comment on a different video a few days ago. Fender seems to go out of their way to ensure that standard parts do not fit cheaper Squiers: it is always something!
Happy 50th TWIG! 🥳
Happy 50th!
My preference would be black for the Troublemaker. I like the gold hardware on black body. Being a bassist, so happy to hear they are doing bass pedals!
Fenders Making Les Pauls, Dogs And Cats Living Together....Mass Hysteria
Thank you, always happy to see the Show! Congrats with the 50th episode!
Go for gold! Thanks for the weekly review, Andy!
Another great video. I really really look forward to them.
Aztec gold tele for sure ;)
Thank you so much. I love making this show
ITS THAT TIME OF WEEK
CONGRATS ON 50!🎉🎉🎉
Fender, Schecter, Harley Benton. Im hooked!
Meheheheh... splash. There you go Andy, one floating goat!
Have a great holiday.
it's 1st thing in the morning and I've just woken up so when you said "right Paul?" I freaked out because I thought that you were talking to me through the screen. lol
The Aztec Gold Troublemaker is where it's at for me. Partly because I don't really want lower priced gold hardware. But that Mocha burst Strat is the stuff of dreams!!!! Have a good holiday, Andy!
Purple schec FTW!!!
Happy 50th, Andy!
Thanks April!
Classic black for the paranormal Télé. Without any doubt!
The black Paranormal looks great. It would be even better with a more conventional headstock, but hey-ho.
One date I’m going to find the right body and right piece of wood and make a wenge neck. Might just use wenge but love the ebony too.
Hey buddy great show thks!!!
I really wanna see a Fender with a Jag/Jazz body, 24.75" scale, block inlays, Stainless Steel Frets, dual humbuckers and (ideally) a 20" radius. Headless would be icing on the cake, but would be odd for Fender to go headless, lol. Maybe Fender with a headless system and a remnant headstock for vibe ;)
If have access to Warmoth, then that may be your best bet (16" is as flat as their menu goes, but a flatter radius may be available as an off-menu option).
Echt tolles Video. :)
I hear you on the original Fender Troublemakers. I bought a Pelham Blue one when they first came out in 2018 and while it was beautiful, I never connected with it because it didn't sound great and felt weird playing, which is odd because I love telecasters. With that said, I'll probably check out both of the paranormal models Squier is offering this year, because - why not?
Great tone gives me wood. That much is true.
I definitely do like that those 'Timber' Strats have the big headstock, which I prefer 😁
🎶 ANDYS PICK OF THE WEEK! 🎶
The tonemaster series is awesome.
Classic clack ^^
Just can't go wrong with that.
Tele black beauty ^^
I had a super reverb tone master and it was great. Incredibly loud as well.
I just bought the Troublemaker Squier. It's really good. Very light, tuners bit cheap, but everything else makes it a lovely guitar to play. The humbuckers are pretty articulate ,not muddy. Handles high gain and cleans up to nice blues tones.
Naturally with the price point, it has some elements of lower grade parts, but for a homebody guitarist like me, it's perfect.
That Black Troublemaker looks great! I usually hate gold hardware but it works on that.
It's funny how things across the pond mean different things as "take a punt" there must me "give it a try" and here in the US it means "pass on it" or "give up trying".
Afaik Tonebucket puts a cap permanently in your signal path.
I loved the original Parallel Universe Fenders. I nearly bought the Orange Thinline Super Deluxe.
That squier Gibson fake😂 I love it
I can’t wrap my head around a relatively expensive guitar being made out of pine.
In Canada pine is easily one of the cheapest woods and I wonder if there will be issues with screws stripping if you do mods to the pickguard etc etc
Pine can mean a lot of woods.
Also the way it is seasoned, cured and or kilned, makes a lot of difference to its durability and even density.
Happy 50th!!
Man, if the Squier Telecaster Custom II I had only had a bridge like that Paranormal, I'd have kept it.. It was basically a Les Paul with P90s and a Strat bridge.. I traded it for a Epiphone Les Paul Special with P90s (before they changed the bridge and went to bolt on necks)..
As for the Squire Paranormal Tele with the two humbuckers, I'd vote for the black one with gold hardware, and then upgrade the pickgaurd to an anodised gold gaurd! Perfect!!
Ive got a Toronado from the first Squier Paranormal line. Two humbuckers, two volume, two tone, 24.75 inch scale, three way switch. I jokingly refer to it as "my Fender Gibson" lol
That Troublemaker has certainly caught my eye, I am feeling the need. Thanks for the heads up.
Aztec gold for sure. The black one is definitely prettier but gold hardware belongs in Hell with Satan.
You are allowed to say sassafras anytime of the week. Enjoy the freedom.
Bacchus, a Japanese guitar brand actually makes a Tele-Les Paul mashup that looks really cool with a carved flamed maple burst top and a semi hollow body. really looks like a gibson in a T style body
The Tele Deluxe looks great. Strange there is a $50 USD difference on Sweetwater; the black being more expensive.
The black has gold hardware. I don't think it's worth a $50 markup, but I'd personally "go for the AZTEC gold" (so to speak) anyway.
@@Markleford Aztec Gold for sure is the proper choice
Definitely the black
Classic Black.
Hands-down.
Classic black on the tele btw… 🎸🤓👍🥓
The HB Les Pauls are available in a left-handed *version*. Singular. Just the one. In black, no other colours available.
This is my newest channel to subscribe to and looooove. So good! Discovered recently and he has become my “new” fav to watch. In depth mechanic reviews and otherwise… No cares. 🤣
Because of this video I’ve searched, watched, and enjoyed Electric Callboy and their slightly raunchy German techno metal style. If you watch reviews for the “Tonewood Debate”, this band is NOT for you. 🤘🤣
TheGuitarGeek is subtly hilarious with his super mild sarcasm by making serious thought provoking content but then interjecting his veiled sarcasm by rolling off the end of some of his sentences into a dead pan tone giving you the, “I don’t believe this either” vibe. Lighthearted but Fkn Brilliant delivery!
I remember when Washburn made three versions of the same model. The only difference was in the wood used for the body. Ash, alder, and mahogany if memory serves.. There were several blind tests and guess what-----nobody could tell one from another. I rest my case.
The Tonemaster thing is really interesting. You would have expected Fender to be leading the fight against amp emulation instead of leaning all the way in. Also they could probably reduce the price for them but dont because they know their customers wont take them seriously if they are set at a reasonable price.
All your bass(man) are being to us.
Que the next vintage reissue hype gear that will totally change your life! 😂
Squier - puts a jazzmaster headstock on a tele and a tele headstock on a jazzmaster!
Fender Basement!
I love the Troublemaker but think it may be 25.5". Am so wanting Squier to do some affordable short scales and really really hope they make an affordable Squier Bullet style Jagstang....can only dream
I really love my charvel joe duplantier signature. Not the USA custom. Just the cheaper white one. But it's amazing basically a modern Les Paul in a Tele body. Coil splits and everything
Got mine used under $500 USD
I really want both those Squier Troublemaker and Offset Tele guitars.
Oh man you're totally going to miss the fender player ii release but I'll still watch it when you talk about it
For the paranormal series they should put jaguar internals in a stratocaster
For the squier trouble makers aztec gold for sure since they’ll have Indian laurel fretboards which I think goes better with the gold finish. The black would have looked better with an ebony fretboard.
I collect all the bound Tele Customs from Squizzy and a couple from Fender, and there's a new Oxblood sparkle bound tele custom coming. Its on preorder now.
Sassafras wood comes from the same tree root beer is made from and smells AMAZING when you're cutting or sanding it. I loved that part of working it. It looks indistinguishable from ash, but so much softer. So needs a hard film finish like a poly.
Sorry, you triggered an I KNOW SOMETHING brain dump there :)
I had no idea. Thank you so much for sharing a really fun fact that is now also my really fun fact that I would definitely put in the next video I get to talk about Sassafras.
ANDYSPICKOFTHEWEEK!!!
2 models seems a bit light for the new Paranormal line, but dang that Troublemaker looks slick.
the Fender Tone Pro stuff is solid, but for 1500 USD you could buy a Tone Master Pro that includes the Bassman plus a lot more
Go for Gold Andy :)
Fender needs to make sure it's not you reading their blurbs!!!! lol
I really hope Fender do a Tonemaster Brownface Deluxe.
They could totally do that as a software update. I doubt they'll make a panel change for the proper look.
It would be fun to be able to reflash your Tone Master hardware with a different amp model at will.
I’m waiting for episode 100,000!
"I love gold!"
Been out working in the yard all day in 90F heat. I got swamp ash too. Time for a shower…..
🤣
May have to grab that P90 HB when i move under two hours away from Thomann....
I saw on Phil McKnight's Friday video that the Tonemaster Bassman will include features that go beyond the original amp: reverb and an effects loop for example. This is a break from previous Tonemasters which seemed to have features limited to those of the original amp they're based on.
Best amp I have ever owned is my tone master deluxe reverb.
fierce
I want the two tone strat with maple fingerboard, and the honey burst Tele. I'd go for the black Telecaster trouble maker, as it's got gold hardware!
I want that telemaster!
My pedalboard is the top of my custom solid wood rack - i'm betting it will last longer.
Is that a vintage Samick in red, in the background? Almost grabbed one on reverb based solely on its design, never heard one. Cool looking guitar
Really wanna try that 59 Bassman TM! Hopefully it sounds killer! 🤞
Gold
Danny Sapko would say "BEHS man" 😊
Hahaha I love Danny
The black for the Troublemaker looks very interesting. Does it sound? Does it play well? Hopefully you can tell us Andy!
Classic black deluxe
With respect Andy, I think you misspoke about the Floyd Rose bridges in the Harley Benton SC Custom III models: at that price, it is bound to be a Floyd Rose Special. The Floyd Rose 1000 Series has a MUCH better reputation.
Thank you! I’ve used a few FR 1000 that have worn terribly over the years. Maybe they are better now.
Happy 50th!
I don't remember a Fender Troublemaker review? Fairly curious, what was wrong with it? (I have the MIJ model and love it, but then I'm just a bedroom guitarist)
Go for the gold.
If you like Electric Callboy (AKA Eskimo Callboy - Their original name) you'll very probably get your rocks off on Glamour To Kill who had a very similar sound and instrumentation about 20 years ago. Also from Germany.
I would say go classic black with the Squire.
...... and just short of a year's worth. (Well in theory, given the title). 😉
I like the honey burst finish, hope someone uses it on an affordable guitar, 'cause I'm broke!
Try a Chris Shifflet telecaster, based on a 70’s deluxe telecaster.
He knows Danksimo and EC! Yay
The black Squire looks better than the gold methinks.
12:10 what’s wrong with the FR1000 ? Three of my five Solar guitars have them and they’re super stable and I have no issues at all with them!!
Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
PS I have my cancer surgery this Tuesday- wish me luck !!
I can’t believe they added a bound fretboard to a Squier.
Now I want to hear what Surf Guitar sounds like on sassafras.
Bass is a fish, a fat perch. Bass is a sound. Bass is a guitar. Bass is a huge cello which is a huge violin. Bass is a wood. Simple enough, right? Oh, wait. What about base? Not baste, that's what your mom does, base. It's the bottom. So, you can build a bass or a bass out of bass and it'll make bass but don't put a bass in the base. That's what your mom might do. Happy 50! You look great, better than me. How's your mom look in a tuxedo?
So I decided to look up how much the Telepath's cost, I figured from your reaction they were gonna be $500aud or so, but they're $300 (Still a bit exxy compared to a cable), which puts em around the price of the Boss ones. Or do you think those ones also too expensive, as well?
Granted, it could be a regional pricing thing, I've seen odd price variations, like Australia reportedly having the Epiphone Prophesy cheaper than the rest of the world's average, meanwhile the Epiphone IBG's costing 2.8k to 3.5k, and it was *wild* hearing people defend the DG-335 at the price of an Ibanez Prestige.
I just have to say it - The pick of the week music bit is just a touch too loud compared to the rest of the video. Would help any of us out with headphones.
I want that Bassman, a little over priced, but I will never gig with my “real 59” but would gig with that digital version… If it keeps my dads amp, I inherited, from getting betoken or busted up at a gig, then to me it’s with it.
Go for the Aztec gold one.
The Paranormal Tele could be interesting. A Jazzmaster neck pickup into a tele certainly isn’t an easy mod.
How those two pickups play together could be interesting (or not).
Totally agree. I will have to try these out
