I wish they hadn’t mic’ed her so closely. One can hear every breath and snatch breath, and voices generally sound better when there’s a bit of distance. Thanks for posting nonetheless. I think she is a little nervous (hence all of the snatch breaths), but she is so musical and obviously has such a deep connection to the line. I like too how she changes her ornaments production to production.
@@patriciapaape9238 Breaths aren't meant to be audible. Is this in an open air arena? If it's a theatre, a properly trained opera singer doesn't need a mic.
The original composed by Donizetti. Usually some parts are cut out. This production follows Donizetti the most. Also cadenza from the Mad Scene is cut out because it was not composed by Donizetti.
Watching this disaster technical and in performance: I LOVE OLD SCHOOL!, where lived the trully Donizetti's Lucias. Currently they need of mezzo´s suport for facing the orchestra in the last fiato. Deplorable!
absolutely mesmerizing
Fantastica.

I think those snatch breaths suit the character of the mad Lucia.♫♪ ॐ¸¸.•*¨*•♫
