That is his best version 100%
Inter Milan lukaku was even better. Maybe he just needs to be screamed at by a Conte type to get the best out of him

I don’t he’s managed to make 10s of millions from his career he’s set for life no matter what happens i’d love to be in his position

He's the Karl Malone of Football. Not the diddling kids part, but the part where he puts up big numbers almost every season but fails to shows up in the most crucial games.
His modern NBA comp is Joel Embid
Thanks for clarifying the kids part mate

The mid season interview while at chelsea makes his situation look way worse than it probably is.
He definitely didn’t help things
For someone who apparently lives for the respect of others that interview killed all credibility and respect he could ever have. I'm glad he's dirt in big games and tournaments. Shocking that he's still pulling a wage from Chelsea
Defenders throwing themselves at lukaku with their full strength only for lukaku to not even notice while the defender getting absolutely crushed will never get old
It’s such a cheat code ain’t it, it’s like when you create a god player on FIFA Career Mode

He does have a way of flip flopping
We don't care. We have made enough money out of him from West London Circus. We will simply laugh and boo at him from now on
And now he is pushing for a move to Milan lol
i think the problem with him started when he decided to comeback to chelsea, at inter he was insane
He wasn’t great at United but to be fair no one ever is
The problem started when he decided to give stupid pointless interviews to the press. He torched his own career.
No he wasn't. Lautaro made it easier for him up front at Inter.
These Prem--tards always saying some outta pocket shit. Lukaku was head and shoulders better than Lautaro when they played together in their first stint together, the 22/23 season was a one off for Lukaku seeing as he was injured and if you look at his goals and assist ratio per 90 you can see that he has 0.95 G/A compared to Lautaro's 0.86 per 90.
Dont start rewriting history.
@@Vizeh he still put up a decent amount of goals at Man Utd. And u support Burnley, focus on the Championship with Scott “9-0” Parker 😂 small club
As an Everton fan, I have never been so confident that a striker would score a chance as Lukaku. Especially in his last season for us, he was scoring literally everything. He'd go 1v1 with the keeper and he'd never miss, quite sad to see him struggle since leaving us.
Do you think he’s like Zaha, very good for mid table team, not as much expectations, pressure, spotlight?
Big fish in a small pond type energy
@@IncredibleMet not really, Everton was qualifying for European competitions then. But I do think he needs to be the main man with a lot of love and an arm around his shoulder
@@adamseymour9960 well, not mid table per se but at chelsea, man utd, inter, they are expecting to win the league and ucl. and for that you need reliable finishers as you only get 1 or 2 chances during the whole tie.

I think since Euro 2016 he got being critisized for no reason. When he lost his first touch while the fans booing him might be the cause while he's polarizing.

Ridiculous...
Check out his stats before around 2014 (I don't know the exact year when he started scoring oberproportional). Wikipedia has a list with goals by year.
CR7 was actually underperforming with the Portuguese national team for a long time!
I don't want to talk him down! I count myself lucky to have experienced his whole extraordinary career. One of the best of all time!
But with Portugal he wasn't always the best. Even when they won the EUROS in 2016, he left the pitch after around 25 minutes.
And as a German: We've always beat them at every tournament. At the World Cup in 2014, we started into the tournament with a 4:0 against Portugal.

Feel bad for Lukaku he used to be so good
He still is that’s the thing, 14 goals in all qualifying and had a very solid season in Serie A and Europa League, that’s the crazy part
@@VizehItalian here, Lukaku really did not have a good season at As Roma in the collective perception. Scored many goals with small teams and blanked in big matches (as usual) but also, more in general, was supposed to make the difference while in fact offered only your average Demba Ba contribution to the team.

@@idontknow6151 scoring in big games and when it matters
@@Victor-jv1cn scoring in every europa league game is scoring in big games
I think his problem is he tried gaining an extreme amount power and strength after his time at Everton and westbrom. But this additional muscle mass has been too much and now he has lost his balance, agility and mobility. This is why he looks tooo clunky on the pitch over the years and his overall game seems to be reduced like he lost technical ability over the years and has adopted a very one dimensional style to fit his extreme athletic build.
That Everton version of Lukaku is incredibly scary as he simply was unstoppable
But exactly that strength and physicality worked amazingly in his great inter season. Especially because he still is rapid once he gets going. But maybe having a partner striker like martinez works very well for him
@@MK-wx5vuI’m not sure it has helped much as he was already a big player before.
@MK-wx5vu but also his diet. He needs to adjust his diet, being bulked up regularly is not good.

2018 World Cup he was the best player for Belgium over prime Kdb and Hazard. He was insane at Inter. Tuchel ruined him at Chelsea forcing him to hold the ball up for Werner and his confidence was shot thereafter. Shocking considering his capabilities. He can score 40 a year if he is firing on all cylinders.
In fairness to Tuchel he wasn’t exactly incredible at Man Utd either but I do agree when he’s in form he’s unstoppable
Problem is it’s rare that he’s firing on all cylinders. Good in a side who play on the counter - like an Everton. When he’s playing in a big team where the opponent sits deep and there’s hardly any space - he just doesn’t deliver often enough.
@@Vizehno doubt Lukaku is inconsistent! I just got the feeling Tuchel did not want to sign Lukaku and was using him like a Fiat to quote Zlatan. Tuchel forced him into a position he wasn’t comfortable in.
@@Vizehtrue another thing is he made that psg comeback anf would have had hatrick if he took the pen

I'm going to say it social media and the Man U environment changed hil for the worst
Nah after leaving Man Utd (with still surprisingly a good amount of goals considering the banter he was getting there) he’d still do well at Inter. The interview with Sky Italia is where it really went downhill. He was never the same since. He only has himself to blame tbh

he's the best worst player
10:33 I know this off topic but this exactly why I am against the Saudi pro league, because where is the home grown talent?instead of investing money into greedy mercenaries why don’t they invest youth academies and pump money into the actual infrastructure.Maybe then they’d attract more of an audience and actually improve their National team aswell as their calibur of coaches.Maybe then they’d be able to gain more recognition as a footballing country.
He is an amazing striker for sure. He is not a complete footballer, but he is extremely good is some situations when he has the space. He had some bad luck, again in this Euros with 3 denied goals. People blame him for these missed chances against Croatia, but do forget he wasn’t even fit then. He scored a lot of important goals in tournaments and qualifiers like now against direct competitors like hattrick against Sweden en one against Austria. He let Chadli score against Japan in the epic game with a brilliant pass through ball, he gave a fantastic trivela assist to Thielemans against England and scored against Germany in an epic friendly game. He scored twice against Croatia to qualify Belgium after 12 years without tournament. Since then Belgium is there and averaging quarter finals pretty much on every tournament. Before we were ecstatic when we got second round. Belgians are spoiled now and have an absolute lack of respect for Lukaku. Eventually football is about scoring goals and stats and Lukaku did and still does that. It makes me sad that the overall atmosphere around the national team has that apathy and is a bit negative. Players feel it and it’s a vicious circle. Maybe people envy footballers because they make a lot of money, but they forget that they work hard, are gifted and withstand a lot of pressure.
Sunil Chetri coming behind ronaldo and messi in terms of goal scored for the country is mad!
Hate to be that guy but it’s not impressive on a global scale.
Yeah, playing against part-time rice farmers
I need to see his highlights, need to work out something
As a Belgian, it's really frustrating to see him miss all those chances, when he's such a clinical striker in the qualifiers. Somehow it doesn't go well in the big tournaments.
Big games does crazy things to players sometimes
Couldn’t finish a cooked dinner. I’ll never forget his miss in the CL final for Inter.
I’ll never forget Croatia
@@Vizeh
Yeah that was a stinker.
My friend is an Inter friend who called Lukaku a "double agent" after he left for Roma.
I'm Belgian and I have great respect for Lukaku. He's a great personality who always puts the team first (unlike KDB or Courtois) and actively coaches younger team mates. He's been insanely consistent for our national team and recently moved up to a (tied) 6th place in the international goal scorer of all time ranking. Still behind Ronaldo and Messi, but he is younger and with 117 caps and 85 goals he has a higher goals per game ratio. That consistency is indeed offset by his failure in the bigger games, and to me that feels mostly like a mental issue, acting more nervous in those matches. Nonetheless, I also think he's been incredibly unlucky. At ManU I feel he did quite ok in a team that didn't perform too well under Mourinho. And later going back to his favorite Chelsea which seemed a perfect match on paper, as they had a great defence and chance creation but lacked finishing. But in practice the club was managed by an idiot who played him in a role that totally didn't suit him. From what I remember, Lukaku also barely got back from injury for the WC 2022, he really wasn't at his best and it showed. Not to mention all the dissalowed goals at the Euros. I sincerely hope he can find the strength to silence all the sceptics, beginning with the game against France.
I think it must be a mental issue when he overthinks the big games, the fact it’s so consistent is crazy
it's definitely mental, at Inter he scored in every big match apart from the finals
I hope Romelu Lukaku starts for Belgium in the 2026 FIFA world cup. Badly want Belgium to go out early.
Hate him because of how he fusses at his teammates all game but when he does get his chance he always bottles it
The "Lukaka" always sends me, I'm sorry
YOU HAD ONE JOB SLOVAKIA FOR CHRIST SAKE
hot take lukaku is playing a good tournament
Hot take Cristiano Ronaldo is playing a good tournament
Probably the most frustrating player i have ever seen. since i watched his first penalty at Chelsea.
Lukaku is a somewhat a 'okay player',the players around him @ country and club have made his stats VERY MUCH what they are
I feel so bad for him. Hes a fantastic player but hes just really unlucky. We all saw from his time at everton that he could easily be the best striker in the world on his day, but he just cant seem to replicate that consistenly
Kevin DeBruyne has made people think that Romelu Lukaku is a world class striker. We're talking about a guy whose last good season was when he won the Scudetto with Inter Milan back in 2021. Since then he's been abysmal and because he's so limited technically as a striker he can't fall back like a Harry Kane which makes him way more isolated and he's not Haaland who scores more than he misses big chances
Fair technical analysis. But what I think you’re getting at is that he’s not good in the modern game. I just think the kind of striker like him doesn’t really exist anymore.
He can’t impact the game as a creator as defenses are well oiled and compact-(also effects spacing i.e. harry kane) His physical traits while important are less impactful as teams defend closer to the goal than ever before. And ultimately the lukakus and hallands of the world just sit around at the arrowhead of the assault while not adding anything to their teams build up, but by usually putting their team down a man.
He’ll often be at times unable to impact the game!!! Especially if a good defender has him, or Halland for that matter, in their back pocket-which all good teams have. No wonder they disappear in big games. I don’t trust halland or Lukaku to have a moment of magic and carry the team whenever somebody needs to step up.
This is why I find the Ivan toneys, Agueros, and firminos of the world are so fun to watch. They function as a Swiss Army knife that can tear an opposing team apart at any moment. They always pose a threat that the defense has to challenge-instead of just overlying on their natural gifts.
Pure strikers are also good and can be amazing to watch. They also primarily focus on goals like lakaka but still have a better skill set. Primarily Suarez and levandowski come to mind.
@@blakehammer9559 It's the difference between a complete striker vs a poaching striker. Usually top teams will have their own elite centerbacks who can use their equally strong physicality to neutralise a poacher's physical prowess (think Rudiger marking Haaland). In cases like this, technicality becomes very important, as you can no longer just hang around the box and have to roam from position to get more space.
Nah it’s the constant statpadding against Estonia that fools the average viewer
Ever since getting back into football a couple of years ago I've always had a soft spot for Lukaku. I just love the way in which he reads the game and his positioning and technique for his size has always been remarkable. It just seems like the man crumbles whenever he's actually needed and feels the weight of responsibility. Absolute baller, but very frustrating to watch at times imo
you can't be serious... he is the exact opposite of what you are saying
I feel like Lukaku is been cursed, the Chelsea saga, 2022 World Cup where he missed some of his chances, and the UCL final where is RESPONSIBLE for blocking the ball.
Change the title to Lakaka, for the memes
As a Chelsea fan, I can’t deny Lukaku is a top quality striker on his day. But I can’t unsee the number of war crimes he committed in the final third while at Chelsea. Unforgettable and unforgivable.
Statistically one of the best ever, pretty sure he's top 5 all time for goals under 23 in the Premier League aside from all the stats in the video. As an Everton fan, he should have stayed at the places where he was loved like Inter and maybe he just isn't a big game player unfortunately.
Do you actually enjoy football or do you do this just for the 💰?
As a Belgian it has always been a mixture of feelings when watching Lukaku play, he‘s, as you said, one of the best strikers of this generation but he is always memed and overhated in my opinion. Belgium will always be behind him so let‘s hope he bags some goals tonight.
I love lukaka
anderlecht is the closest thing he has to a home.
He won't be the belgian goat though. there's KDB & Hazard. But also Ceulemans, Scifo, Van Himst, Mermans, Coppens, ... . He's up there with some of the best. he's around Gerets level i'd say.
I really like him, he’s really fun to see and his hold up play is elite. I think the meme is overdone , I think he’s been quite successful but obviously off of his potential
The best description i have of him is a blind service dog
Stop being fanboys... The man is washed... The game has caught on to guys like Lukaku and Kane... Its about Dribbling and speed now not size... DUH!
Lukaku 🤝 Núñez
When it comes to missing easy, big chances
Nunez rn >>>> Lukak
Got to give credit to Roberto Martinez, Everton or Belgium, genuinely seems like the only man who can consistently get the best out of him
Him, Koeman and Conte
here just after France v Belgium, he was nowhere to be seen
I'm a Burnley supporter, but Roma has always been my second team. As par for the course, Lukaku had some high spots with Roma, but as time went on, he became more and more jaded. He has all of the skill in the world, but he's lacking the drive and concentration to be world class.
The answer is obvious, isn't it? It's Kevin De Bruyne.
He creates the best and most goalscoring opportunities of any player in the world, meaning any striker getting his service is going to get both the most goals and the most misses. We see the same with Haaland at City, though Haaland is a SIGNIFICANTLY better finisher than Lukaku but is also playing at a much higher level of football with De Bruyne than the international level. Haaland got the most goals in a season EVER in the Premier League, but also the most missed chances just due to the law of large numbers. Both strikers are entirely capable of scoring goals without De Bruyne, but both suddenly "find form" when De Bruyne is firing on all cylinders and isn't injured, suddenly getting ridiculous stats "out of nowhere".
Take home message: Kevin De Bruyne is the best and most underrated football player in the world. Fight me.
8:20 this reminds me of when Buddy (from Elf) is still convinced he’s an elf yet he’s enormous next to everyone on the North Pole.
Not related but how come Chelsea is spending so much money on players which are not even gold rare but gold common in fifa ? In fernandez is worth 100 million how come torres was 50 ? Pogba 89 ? If this guy is 100 m, then torres is 800 million. Messi is 10 billion. Even with inflation, the 100 m isnt justified. Same for all the other new players. Couldnt they have bought the best players in the world with this money ? Alan Shearer cost 15 M, which in today's money is far from 100 of Fernandez... Hazard cost 35 !
08:30 I actually played Lukaku at the U14 level...I was the opossing goalkeeper. I Was playing for an amateur club and we faced Anderlecht at some kind of youth football camp. Needless to say we got trashed something like 13-1 with both Lukaku and Musonda literally running the ball into my net multiple times, no way to stop them. He was literally 20 cm's taller and about 20 kg's heavier than me, which was huge at age 13. It was ridiculous. Only 3 years after that I saw on TV how he physically trashed Ajax defense in the europa league.
Lukaku is a very inconsistent player. He is a man, who is a absolute goal machine on a good day, but he is absolutely disgraceful on a bad day. But I think that the lakaka meme, and all of the jokes online are still very undeserved. Just a reminder that this man is just 30 Serie A goals away from scoring over 100 goals in two separate top quality league competitions. Something that only Ibrahimović, Cavani, Higuaín and Gignac had achieved...
Streaky as a footballer but hey, there's others out there who do the same and get nowhere near as much flack *cough*HAROLDEDWARDKANE*cough*/
also, dude speaks like 6-8 languages and I want to be on that level someday.
That is insane isn’t it, I can barely speak English
Might sound harsh but his perpetual downfall is a result of his own antics. Poor professionalism, weak mentality and inability to cope with pressure when it matters most have defined him since he left Everton. Every chance he got, he ruined it, aside from his first stint at Inter and even then he forced the move. He had great opportunities at Man Utd, Chelsea, Inter (again) and Belgium but he himself blew each and everyone of them.
He balled out this europa league
Indeed, which makes him more confusing
Players don't care about the countries they play for. Football club pays their wages so Ithey don't think about the country. Not putting in racial differences I'm English Harry Kane after the season he had did nothing just sad for international football
Lukaku is Belgian version of Vieri. All left footed and no right foot what so ever. If Lukaku actually learned how to use his right foot. He would've been a world class player. The same could've been said for Vieri. modern day foot your striker has to be able to use booth feet for at least passing.
Bro speaks in one word sentences
I get told I talk too fast for 8 years and now too slow? 😂😂
Starting in SA I thought for sure Belgium would have got to a Final in the Euros or WC and maybe won. They just could never deliver when they needed it and played down to lesser competition. Truly sad
He is/was amazing BUT the guy is in the wrong era(a decade or even 2 decades late). The classic 9 still works but its not looking great for it long term, even Haland has problems at City and i see his as a more complete striker,in modern football the strong lazy nr9 isnt going to be as great as it was in the past.
he’s the modern era of a player who’s stats look good on paper but in big games and all around he seems to be a different player
He's not mediocre
His biggest tragedy is being lower than average in skill, being fat and lazy. Conte made him look good by reorganizing the entire team to play around him. Once he was gone, this guy regressed to his natural state. He also cost Inter the UCL title.
😢wow
High IQ striker, great positioning, incredible strength, great speed, very poor technique. Simple as that
For such a “Top” goalscorer ..
He’s more remembered for his big misses & flopping at multiple clubs ..
As a united fan I've watched him quite a lot Actually he isn't that bad after all he's quite ok in holding the ball & bringing others into play bt his ball control & those misses & blocking others attempts in crucial moments let him down
hes such a class striker too, just has too many laughable moments
Such an consistently inconsistent baller man😂
All this research, all this hype and a 13 minute video only for him to miss 2-3 big chances vs France and score a brace in the next friendly vs Estonia
Lakaka, Lukaku and La Kakou are all greats. So much strength and Engine . But Zero finishing and all 3 forms as one person like Lakaka or some sort..
He is more talented than the entire burnley squad in all of history.
Thia dude just hating on lukaku for easy clicks, typical
Regardless of his shortcomings he is the greatest Belgian striker of all time.
If it wasn't for the VAR his 3 disallowed goals would've made him topscorer
He’s simply too big and uncoordinated
get him back at everton tbh (i delusional)
Belgium had 3 generational talents, one flopped, the other kinda flopped, one succeeded at putting himself in history
Eden Hazard was a 100 times the player Lukaku wishes he was.
Don’t talk nonsense mate.
Always love your vids but let's keep things in perspective hardly a tragedy is it! Gaza is a tragedy
A tragedy at 300.000 quids a week. Well I think a lot of people would love to be that tragic lol
Lukaku's only prime came at inter 2 seasons he never should have left inter it was the only place where he reached the world class level he should have got for a big career
He will come to napoli and be the Capocannoniere again
Hardly a Tragedy! getting paid crazy money, won more titles & trophy's than the current England Captain will ever win & has played in 3 different countries so far. Pretty sure he sleeps much better at night than various YT Content creators & Everyone in this comment section. 😂😂
exactly.
Lukaku might not be the best of the best striker sin the world but isn't a bench player either.
plus, he is ultra rich. he will not have to worry about money for the rest if his life, as long as he has a very good lawyer and financial advisor.
He's got two left feet, which he never fails to stick in his gob, when he's not tripping over both of them.
Lukaku is not that really bad player. He is just an unlucky person.
As an Inter Milan fan, I should be pissed at him, but he was phenomenal when he played with us
He’s miles off Hazard if talking about Belgium greats
His problem is his weight tbh. He can’t control his body
He sold his soul to return to Inter in my opinion
As an inter fan, I have mixed feelings about him. He came to great fanfare, and was a really good signing. Apart from the hiccup at the EL final.
His departure left a sour taste in my mouth, only rivaled by his 2nd - and final - departure.
I appreciate all what he did with our team, and I wish him well.
Stormzy really dropped off after his first album…
My favourite description of him was that when he runs it looks like he's wearing jeans.
