I think you’ve nailed it when you mentioned the colours of the bricks are brighter in person than on the website. The same goes for when you go to the Lego store and see sets built. They always look better than in the pictures. Apart from when I order knight minifigures and the like most of my PAB orders are drab colours 😀🙌
Oh yeah the proper lighting goes such a long way to making the elements really pop (especially together in set form!)
While of course I am excited about all parts hauls, the drab colours get me so excited, even though they may not look as impressive 🤣 glad you're on the same page as me on that!

Great haul! I think LEGO puts parts in separate bags if it's a high enough quantity, but I'm not totally sure on that.
Good to know! So bizarre some pieces were split between the bags today, I don't think that's ever happened!
