The tools of the trade, palette 🎨 ✏️, 📃 and great talent. When I was young, I so enjoyed drawing. My dad drew plump birds 🐦 🐦⬛and it fascinated me. Thank you for a most peaceful session.✌️
Emma you are a brilliant artist. Your little birds came out so adorably fantastic. I can just see them on greeting cards. Hearing your son arguing with your husband was adorable. It reminded me of my granddaughters first time she put a sentence together,. We'd left her in the lounge room one evening aftet dinner. Id popped into the kitchen to start clearing after dinner. Then I hear 'Gramma!' She called out , I answered 'yes sunnshine', (she was my sunshine since she was born four days after my father's passing.) She answers ' Im wet'.. we all rushed into the lounge room to see what she'd wet herself with, Probably her drink. Then Ive realised & told her 'omg Lily, you've just said your first sentence.' My curly haired princess, just gave me her usual big dimpled smile.. that child just knew how to put a smile on my face.. Thank you for all you do. Blessing from Australia.
This is so NOT boring! You’re a good teacher and I love that you have “ disasters” when you’re learning something new......I’m glad I’m not the only one who makes disasters!!
I love your honesty and humbleness. This tutorial is great help, probably since you have just gone through learning to make these yourself, thus you remember to put in little steps that teachers often forget. I can't imagine why 1 person voted this down though!
You are so good at painting and drawing plus you explain what you are doing. I’m 79 years old and haven’t been painting very long!!! Thank you for your help!!!!
I’m definitely going to give this a try. I struggle with layering colors as I tend to overwork it. I was really paying attention to how often you dab off on the paper towel and how little paint you were actually using. I’m learning so much from you and just wanted to say thank you. 🌺
Emma, I never get bored watching your tutorials. I really like the fact your videos are in real time and not sped up. I learn better by watching the entire process in real time. I'm going to try this today myself! 😊💖
Dear Emma- thanks so much for showing the sketching in your tutorials. These birds are so sweet- I can’t wait to try it. Tomorrow I have some extra time! Have a wonderful day!
Love these birdies and I will definitely paint a couple of them tomorrow. I'm also really glad you didn't obscure the instructions with distracting music. Great video! Thank you very much!
I think this might be the first video of yours that I've watched. I have to say, you are an excellent teacher! I love how you explain what you're doing, and ESPECIALLY how you do not say a person "should" or "have to" do this or that...you explain that you are doing different things because you **feel** it... That's what art should be about! 💗
Emma, I think you’re birds turned out great and no it wasn’t boring. I love to watch you paint. You are a good teacher. Looking forward to your next tutorial.
I too enjoy and learn so much from your demonstrations. Your colors are so pretty and what a relief not hearing music idle conversation or chats with other viewers. Thank you .
I agree with others who make comments about your amazing talent, but I also think I understand how much practice it takes to make your art look so easy. Nicely done.
I love watching you paint birds. You make it look so easy. Your a great teacher. And you keep the painting simple as possible. God Bless you. I’ll be your student till I get the birds right. Thank you again.
There is nothing boring about watching you draw. I for one need help in that area. I so appreciate you taking the time to show us how you do the drawings. I have a plane flight in two days, I now know how I will be spending the air time. Thank-you so much
I love your tutorials. I'm so going to try this. I've been practicing the roses. Its really coming along. I practice every day. Thanks for your encouragement . Your a very special person.
I love your way of teaching! I don't get bored at all watching you show your process!! It helps me learn new ways of thinking about and doing things!! These are super cute!! Thanks so much.
I just started watercolors 3 months ago and I just painted this last night and am quite happy. It was very helpful to have you sketch it out beforehand. Do you have one with 3 cats? That would be SWEET!
I check every day to see if you have a new tutorial. When you post one it makes my day because you always make it easy enough to follow that even I can do it. Thx so much.
Cute birds. I really like how you break everything down into basic shapes. It's something I've always read about in different drawing books but I've never actually seen anyone put it in action. It's really effective.
Well done! I like it that you practiced this a few times before sharing. We are not alone in needing practice. I'm going to paint these next. I wish you would have added the branches or a snowy ground that are are feeding on... just to complete it. But no matter, I appreciate your tutorial so much!
I love you, you are so humble with your incredible talent. I like how “real” you are! Know that there is someone in California who looks forward to starting each morning with you! You teach in a way that I best learn.. 🌺
Really good. I love the way you demonstrated the basic outline with circles and ovals. I'm gonna have a go. Thanks for this practical and helpful video.
Oh Emma - I had to pause this video and thank you for teaching me how to draw a bird!!! I drew them like you showed us and mine actually look like birds. Going to practice drawing these and then will paint them later. Thank you so very much!!! Love & Hugs! 💕🤗 PS - I did watch you start to paint the robin and the texture is amazing. Love how they all turned out. Gorgeous birds and awesome instructions!!! Yay! Yay!! 🦜❤️
A very helpful video. The way you explained how to draw the birds was just what I need at the moment. I want to have a go at copying a photograph of my own and it’s of two Robins in the snow.
As someone who has lived on both continents I love how you juxtaposed the European Robin with the American Cardinal! Such a great conversation piece for our fellow ornithologists!
Mighty FINE! You share your process for drawing and painting very well! It is easy to follow along and do it all WITH you, which I think is what many of us are looking for! Great job!!
These are adorable, I’m going to try this for my neighbor as she has wanted a painting for a while, I’ve been following your tutorials for a few months and am learning so much 🙏🏼❤️
This tutorial was awesome Emma! I loved that you added in the teaching of drawing the birds! Love the detailing too. For our next birds can you show us how to do a wet-in-wet birds? Are the wet-in-wet birds easier or harder to paint? Thanks so much Emma, you’re the best!❤️
Love the birds, I keep forgetting to tell you I love your baby,so sweet. I love babies and animals, guess there isn’t anything or anyone that I dislike. One thing I do know is I can’t do portraits, don’t really want either. But I do love flowers and birds (love Roosters) have tons of them, ceramic, mostly. See ya next time Have a wonderful day 😊
New subscriber. I love your tutorials! I like that you take us through the process in real time and I appreciate your narration instead of of time lapsed to music. Just wait until you get to teen life! 🙄 Enjoy toddler life!😊
I had my art class in hysterics this morning. While I was watching you drawing the birds last night, you then rubbed some of the pencil off. Guess what I did, I blew on my iPad to get rid of the bits of rubber 🤪 still loved the video 😂
Thank you for the lovely birds… I’m trying it right now!…. Just a tip: angle the camera so your thumb doesn’t cover what you are doing with the tip of the pencil… But I can figure it out!…
Starting out the New Year With a tutorial by Emma Lefebvre, and new paints! What fun!
When I'm feeling down I love to pop on one of your videos. They make life better.
