I am moving to a place on N Holly St, between 3rd and 4th. I'm going to need to walk my dog several times a day. Is this area safe for a disabled woman to walk her dog? The Medford I remember from my teens and early 20s was not a great place to live, so I am trepidatious about moving here. Any info or advice you could give would be immensely appreciated!
I trimmed all the flowering pears in downtown Medford 11 years ago for the city of Medford on a city contract, , the same picture that is the cover picture of this video
Now these are the kind of videos somebody needs to see, who is considering moving to the area. It lets you know what amenities the area offers, what infrastructure is there. This is so important. So many RE videos just do a quick drive around, show you residential areas and parks, and maybe a school. But this lets you know exactly what day to day living will be like. Great video.
You’ll love the streets crawling with homeless! It’s also the gateway for drugs into Oregon! That new shopping center only looks good in the pics. Pan either way it’s ran down. The school are mediocre. The town is ran down. It only surpasses Klamath falls, in looks. Cost of housing is really high for what you are getting. Only the far east corner has nice neighborhoods, but those end as soon as it gets near the interstate. Also every busy intersection has red light cameras, they have speed camera vans all the time down busy streets sometime random streets. Look at central point, eagle point, phoenix if you have to move in this area.
(i under bid the entire contract) if you ae in downtown i probably trimmed the pear you are looking at , they are a lot older than you would think , 30 40 and 50 year old trees
Great video. Former resident of Medford, 2013-2022 and I could really relate to the whole tour. Millie's dad ran the Woolworth store from 1955-1971. She learned to skate in their basement. We lived up McAndrews and Thrasher; near Lone Pine. Great years. Your video brought back tons of memories. Thanks again!!
I was annoyed in the beginning with all of the corporate, even nationwide restaurant pointers you gave. Now I will check out Luigi's Sandwiches ... That looks like a worthwhile place to try. I miss the Sharp's Deli
Luigi's is fantastic. There are lots of other really good local restaurants to try in Medford too. I was just talking about the corporate places as examples of the development in southern oregon recently.
They are bringing chucke cheese and a trampoline park... not much entertainment for family friends but it's a start between those two , family fun center .... Medford can use a Dave n busters or big Als
7:23 aka drug dealers, but unfortunately, that's everywhere these days. Medford appears to be like most cities. It has it's newer areas and it's seedier areas. I've watched a lot of your video's and you seem to be very knowledgeable about the entire Southern Oregon Market. If I relocate to Southern Oregon, I'll be looking you up. Thanks for the ride along. PS: Great Video and great narration!
Miss Medford !! and Phoenix !! and Portland !! Moved out cuz of the fires!! Lived in Phoenix a little over 50 years !! Originally from El Paso TX. Moved to Las Cruces New MEXICO!! Hopefully you do a drive thru in Phoenix !Please ! here they are building a Black Bird in Phoenix ! Miss all my friends !! worked for harry and david as a fork lift driver in the orchords !! miss it!!!
I love these tours. I'm currently saving up to move to Southern Oregon from Central California and the driving through and talking, giving info is really amazing. Thank you!
Back in 1969 Luigis sandwiches was a food cart and their claim to fame was the garbage grinder they were always on the street that Kenny’s shoes was on one block before I can’t remember the name of the street I haven’t been to Medford in 35-40 years but I know I Love southern Oregon
Medford no longer has any decent sit down restaurants in the downtown area! Nothing bur food trucks. Who, in their right mind, would take their wife & kids to dine in downtown Medford? The narrator fails to mention all the eyesores, pool halls, strip joint, pawn shops & used car lots. Sure, Four Daughters Irish Pub Is there, but it attracts only the younger crowd. And the historic Elks Lodge with its nice hardwood dance floor has been closes for decades!
yeah only redeeming factor is the weather, and location being in the middle of all the nice towns. Ashland talent phoenix central point white city all nice towns. Place is a drug ridden hobo camp, and the traffic speed trap surveillance capital of Oregon, with 70% crappy ran down neighborhoods.
@unicornharry7995 Must not have lived here that long. This area has turned into a mini california. The crime rates have sky rocketed. The people who live here are some of the most unkind people out of any county i have lived in. I volunteer in many aspects of jackson county and there isn't 1 good thing about this county. The politics favor money over safety and favor city over towns. Due to politics crime is through the roof because crimes arnt enforced like they should. The police here don't know how to enforce law and are not trained on law like they should and tend to harm the local communities.
@unicornharry7995 Anyone reading this do not move here. The cost of living here is one of the worst in the nation. Housing costs are insane. And are currently unlivable and unaffordable unless you make 100k per year. Due to californians moving to this part of Oregon has made this area unlivable for Real Oregonians. So a large portion of oregonians have left because no one likes it here. So no this isn't Oregon anymore. Just a small California. So if you think it's good then you are probably from California.
@@TheHumanVirus No I am agreeing with you. I been here, for 12 years, and had family here while I lived in Klamath for a total of 23 years. Place blows. Housing for the most part is ran down, and waaay over priced. Homeless all over 1/5 are tripping hard on drugs. You can see them sleeping off the streets right when the sun comes up. Every main intersection has damn speed/red light camera, traffic camera vans all over. Fetinal is all over with the drugs being laced, I have family that just got off Medfords streets. I am saying central point, eagle point, phoenix, talent is nice. Ashland is a mix bag but the town is beautiful kept up, but hippie druggies are all over.
I'm gonna say that you've done some editing to make downtown look better than it is. Downtown is full of drug addicts and transients. Your video is completely deceiving.
Hmmm... I don't know how that could even be possible without some massive Hollywood budget for special effects, which I don't have. lol. The camera doesn't lie.

Thanks for sharing this video. May I ask if Medford more affordable than living in Ashland?
@@mjphadsellit definitely is. Home prices and property taxes are quite a bit less in Medford.

Very nice city tour.. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The thing I miss most wasn't mentioned: Medford Food Coop

Thank you for watching! I have a tour of Grants Pass coming out soon, so make sure you subscribe so you don't miss it!
El Arriero's Mexican restaurant popped into my head watching this video 🤣 the things I remember about my visit to the "Heart Of The Rogue"
Beaverton native. Now Orange County 🍊 GREAT content. More PLZ subbed ✔️

Medford has always been a dirty city, in more ways than one. I hate driving downtown and avoid it.
I can't count how many times I've been in the rogue valley mall
Medford use to be nice but now it's a mini LA. Traffic sucks and people from all over are moving in and bringing their problems with them.
13 years ago i mean
You missed the South end of town too
You totally missed the courthouse and justice building
Medford is the biggest town near me I love it because it has Chick-fil-A 😂😂
Who doesn't love Chick-fil-a? LOL.
There building another Chick-fil-A corner of South Pacific Highway and Garfield.
I can always tell someone who didn't grew up here! 😂
You don't think I grew up here?
For real this kid isn't from southern Oregon
Dude, lose the annoying music! Distracting!

This is the worst place to live. Move here at your own risk.
