This is insane, I live in Florida and stuff like this never happens. I remember seeing stuff on social media about when all this happened a few years back but I didn’t realize it was this bad. It sucks that all that is happening but it must be pretty cool to go ride through and document history as it unfolds

I was in florida during these protests. There was definitely rioting in south florida, central, west coast. Most intense down in Miami. I was in downtown Orlando for some of those days, there was tear gas flying and what not. But not large scale looting.

I never knew about those riots in Chicago in the 60s, it was interesting to see that part of the city. Some will say it’s a eye sour but that hole area should be listed as a museum and be talked about way more. Thanks for great information

If people are going to use use the a few bad apples excuse with the cops then the same could be said about the protesters. 99% of them are peaceful and good meaning. It's the bad apples that come out after dark to capitalize on the situation. The only difference is was that the peaceful protesters are trying to stop the rioters and looters as well, whereas the cops don't give a fuck who you are they'll shoot you with rubber bullets, tear gas, beat you with their batons, shove down elderly people, etc. All while the "good apples" stand there and watch.

Slavery is unfortunately synonymous with human history. Where the did the colonialists buy the early slaves from? Other Africans who had already enslaved them. We should look at the societies who were the first to ban the practice.
Archer totally couldn’t agree more, not to mention slavery in America ended 200 years ago, but the topic is still brought up like the people today are living through it. My ancestors never owned slaves but if I say that my ancestors came to America in the mid 1700’s most people would just assume they did. I don’t even know my ancestors dating back past 100 years... so their lives absolutely do not reflect on the life I live today and same goes for every race/ ethnicity in America.

Actually that horse looked terrified and about to bolt. He's a good rider and the horse has pretty steady nerves. Most horses would have bucked the rider and ran in that situation.

It is truly no body’s say on how people should protest. I know that although I’m colored...I’m not black. It’s not my people that are getting shot and murdered by cops. I know a lot of people are burning down large businesses and hotels that give no shits about the people. Although, I cannot and will not support the looters who take advantage of the situation and attack smaller businesses.

I'm from Richmond Virginia, and it was sort of scary when they were protesting down our street throwing rocks at homes and cars, my dad just sat by the front door with the ar 15 fortunately we were not affected

This brought shivers down my spine. I know EXACTLY how you feel going down these roads as protests are happening. I was in Hong Kong in the Summer of 2019 and I was part of that 2 million strong protest against the extradition bill. I stopped attending the protests when violence escalated because although I am a resident of Hong Kong (I grew up there and have a permanent resident ID card) I no longer live there. This gave me chills though, it reminded me of Admiralty and Central the day after huge riots, brings me back to Sheung Wan when there were bricks all over the road and "F the PoPo" written everywhere. Chills man.
I was there in HK during the protests. Bad time to look like a college student, I vividly remember a kid staring at my colleague and I then saying “mama, they are protester!”. We had to go one stop past our office on the train because they burned the station.
Man that years 2019-2020 protests were really crazy in Chile, HK and USA. Even today France protests were not violent than that
Born & raised in the Chi (and not a suburb like most) so I mos def felt the same way. Way to document some of this!
